The national lottery is designed to exploit the poor with offers of release from their financial worries. In reality it is deliberately designed to maximise takings for the lottery provider, and minimise payouts to the infinitely tiny few that win. The stated odds on most of their instant win games are intentionally misleading, leading to most players thinking that the odds given are the odds on them winning a cash prize, they are not. The odds shown are the chances of players winning something, be that a free spin, and extra symbol or a free extra game ticket. It IS NOT the odds of winning a cash prize only, the odds on that would be so appalling, very few would play any of the games the lottery offers. Ultimately the lottery is what is known in the gaming/gambling industry as a "muggs bet", with a large percentage of the stake money people pay going towards very well targeted advertising designed to convince "muggs" to play more. Unfortunately the lottery is very successful at getting people to part with their money in exchange for almost zero chance of winning anything at all. It is morally corrupt, exploitative, and hides behind a veneer of charitable giving to worthy causes.

I don’t like the new ‘ two chances’ I got two numbers last night and get £1 !! At least with a lucky dip you think you still have a chance…. Don’t like it and will probably stop playing

Why have they also halved the prize amounts on the hotpicks? Yes, hotpicks works off lotto numbers drawn, but, it's a separate game altogether, and any monies raised by playing hotpicks has never been used to fund main lotto prizes.

Well the new lottery format is crap. I won't be wasting my money on it anymore.

What thay have done to the lotto is rubbish lower prizes drop down very low 10 pound instead off 30 5 number now only 1000 before about 2500 and high jest took all my money out ready for the next draw not again

Who ever wrote this app needs to learn how to write apps. A 5 year old could do better. It is has so many faults and bugs it's even worse than windows 11 and that I thought wasn't possible.

Absolutely rubbish just about sums up the national lottery app .zero out of ten . Massive room for improvement.

Updated the app and now it keeps giving me a "check your connection" error message and won't let me log in!!!

More the new payouts are disgusting, never one anything but 30 pounds but 10 pounds for 3 numbers is a insult also the reduced prize money is too.

The new lottery is poor. The prizes are terrible. And the numbers can't be random. Please change back to original lotto.

The prize money payouts being substantially reduced means I will be reducing my stakes substantially, winning a pound for 2 numbers and a tenner for 3 is nothing short of insulting, don't think this mob will last long.

Sadly i only noticed when seeing the results
tonight , when the lottery upped the price to 2 pounds
i reduced the amount of tickets i purchased
ive decided i aint buying another ticket
with collect my pound and say good by.
two draws and reduced mini payouts as made it

This new lottery is a rip off.If you get three numbers now you only get £10 instead of £30 and £1 for 2 numbers.Im not playing this anymore.Its rubbish now

Awful. Been on holiday abroad and came home and paid for two tickets on the Saturday night draw. Email says I’ve won a prize, great. Claim Prize hit the button. The message now says I’m not in the UK, yet I bought the ticket 24 hrs previously with no issue in the UK where I still am. Advice contact ISP and it may take several weeks to resolve, come on that’s just a scam to keep my cash. Dreadful, this is the last draw I will participate in. You’ve had my cash and don’t want to sort the prize. For goodness sake what a disaster.
