My Tan Feet is an excellent trustworthy source for travel information and tips in Costa Rica. We used their free service to help us book a rental car through Adobe. It's unfortunate that a previous reviewer did not understand the insurance requirements and gave My Tan Feet a poor review. My Tan Feet answered all my questions very clearly. CDW (protection for the car) is mandatory in Costa Rica but many major credit cards offer rental car coverage to their customers as an added benefit. Adobe will allow you to waive the coverage if you can show that you have rental car coverage through the credit card used to book the car. However, traveling to a different country I was slightly concerned that Adobe would not accept the CDW coverage provided by my Mastercard upon arrival, but there were no issues at all! The process was very easy and everything went smoothly from pick-up to drop-off. My Tan feet has a lot of helpful youtube videos as well. On everything from rental cars to hikes to currency exchange. They are legit!

I had a very disappointing experience with Adobe Rent a Car Costa Rica and Mytanfeet.com. I booked a rental car through Mytanfeet, and before booking, I specifically asked about the insurance fees. They assured me that the basic coverage I selected was sufficient and that I wouldn’t be forced into any extra charges. However, when I arrived at Adobe Rent a Car, I was told that I had to pay an additional 30% of the rental price for extra coverage—something I was never informed about.

Adobe claimed I needed credit card insurance, which is not even available in Europe, making it impossible for me to comply with their requirement. Despite Mytanfeet stating that the extra coverage was optional, Adobe refused to rent me the car unless I paid for it. So, in reality, it was never optional. This felt like a classic bait-and-switch scam—advertising one price but forcing customers to pay much more upon arrival.

I trusted Mytanfeet because they seemed like a reliable source of information, but they completely misled me. Either they are intentionally deceiving customers or have no real control over Adobe’s shady pricing tactics. Both companies are at fault, and I would strongly advise others to avoid using either of them.

If you don’t want to deal with hidden fees, misleading information, and forced extra charges, stay away from Adobe Rent a Car Costa Rica and Mytanfeet.com!
