Lovely place to do my day skipper

Very enjoyable trip to compete my day skipper qualification, I felt very welcomed by the entire crew. I was given all information that I required beforehand with plenty of time and was given good guidance and feedback throughout the trip to make sure I could make the most of the trip.

Made very welcome from the moment I meet the morning star crew. Very knowledgeable tutor and assistant. Adapted the course to suit the conditions. On our first day it was too windy to sail, so did loads of theory instead. Good boat that works well for the course syllabus. Excellent boaty food each evening, with breakfast and lunch on board. Sailing from Northney provides a full range of the challenges one is likely to experience and so all relevant techniques were put into practice. Birthed in Northney, Haslar Marine, West Cowes and Chichester. Our night passage was Northney to Haslar, which was really informative. Course progressed at a good pace, with everything well explained. Thanks Chris and Sue for a great experience.

Sailed with MST on Eastern Star for my D of E Gold residential having never sailed before. The week was an incredibly valuable and fun experience. Both the skipper and mate from MST were very welcoming from the get go and taught us a lot about sailing throughout the five day trip.

A memorable experience that had excellent communication and organisation prior and during the expedition from MST. Thoroughly enjoyable 10 days of sailing and will book more voyages with MST in the future.

I took 4 complete novice 13 year olds on a weekend trip with MST. We were met at Northney Marina by our Skipper Chris, and his mate Jacob. We were made to feel as comfortable and safe as you can be on a tiny boat. We all felt we learnt lots of things, and not just about sailing! The menu plan was very tasty and Chris and Jacob gave us just the right amount of guidance and enabled us all to work together as a team. All the equipment provided was in good condition and we had lots of fun.

Fantastic in all respects, pre expedition material, communication and help. Took account dietary difficulties. Skipper, crew and Boss all really excellent.
Son had the most amazing expedition experience, challenging, new, and totally unforgettable. Great ethos.

I was part of the Round Britain leg Edinburgh to Belfast. The Morning Star Trust were EXCEPTIONAL in the organisation and keeping morale high through the changes . The food was awesome. The skippers gave you experience in different roles in the boat and helped you develop personally as well as in your sailing skills.

Sould Sailors, a group of vulnerable and homeless adults, had a fantastic sailing experience through the Morning Star Trust in 2019. We would love to come back some time in the future as the overall experience was very positive and this was due to the amazing staff and volunteers on board that week who led the trip - they were very professional, welcoming and the group felt very safe throughout!

I completed the RYA/MCA Yachtmaster Coastal Course & Examination with MST in mid-October 2022. I was immensely impressed with the whole organisation, from the advance notification, guidance to what to expect, through the practical exercises and preparation in advance of the independent examiner’s evaluation. The thoroughly professional way that the course was organised was excellent preparation for the examination.

I went on a DofE gold expedition with the morning star trust. I’m so glad I did it was such an exciting voyage. I was very impressed with the quality and condition of the boat and equipment - one can never be sure with these type of outdoors adventure providers, sometimes they provide very well worn and unpleasant kit so I was very pleased to be supplied with lovely salopettes, jacket and life jacket.
The skipper was wonderfully kind and helpful. He brilliant at teaching us and providing guidance without taking over nor limiting our input. The sea staff were very friendly and it was nice to have staff of a similar age to participants. It was a good opportunity to be inspired to further pursue the sport and learn of roles to aspire to.
The boat itself w very pleasant and well stocked with board games! The food was nice and the team was very good at catering for multiple dietary requirements. I appreciated that although we sailed immediately, the we, the participants, were slowly introduced to the working of the ship and were given more responsibility as our confidence grew. Overall I had a brilliant time and I feel very lucky to have had this experience. I definitely hope to go on another voyage with the trust.

The mates and skipper as well as the other people. It was really fun with the beach marshmallows and also all the sailing but shame we didn’t do any night sailing

I had a very enjoyable experience with MST for my DofE expedition trip. I had an amazing time and learned so much, especially as a complete novice. I am so grateful for the patience of the staff who taught me a new skill and who went above and beyond. I am also very thankful of MST who was very understanding and supportive to accommodate my vegan and gluten free diet. I am very inspired after learning so much from staff and am keen to go out sailing again and join a local club. As well as the staff being highly skilled, they were very approachable and welcoming.

Amazing 10 day sailing experience for Duke of Edinburgh Gold award.
Crewe were supportive and fun.

Excellent skipper and mate. Good food. Learnt a lot. Good mixture of fun and challenge.
