I used NZ Van Lines to move from Paris, France to NZ and I could not be more impressed with the service. From the very first contact Matthew and his team have been super responsive, professional and careful. Not one item was broken in my relocation and the cost was also reasonable for such a move. Am very appreciative of their great service as well as the delivery and packing support guys Ulysses and Xycan. Thank you!

When we decided to move back to New Zealand from Toronto, we chose NZ Van Lines, it was the best decision we could have made. Every single person we dealt with, including Matthew, Candice, and Nigel, was amazing to work with.

Help Matthew W provided from start to moving over to Auckland from Melbourne was just pleasure. Communication, organisation and help me keep a short notice move over on track. This also goes for the team in Melb that came over to being the shift to the team on the ground in Auckland. I will be 100% using NZ Vanlines again.

Our contact person at NZ Van Lines, Matthew Woodley, provided all the documentation we needed to complete at the beginning of the exercise. Then responded promptly and empathetically when we had some queries. He kept us in the loop all the while our freight moved from rural France to New Zealand. The thorough effort at outset meant there were no unwelcome surprises with NZ Customs. The end result was a large crate being walked into our house by NZ Van Lines staff. Great service.

Cannot speak more highly regarding NZ Van Lines from pick up in Aus to delivery in Palm North NZ they were amazing, the team packing up were super fast, friendly and everything was packed so well to the team that delivered to our home, a really friendly bunch of guys and nothing was a problem

Matthew Woodley and the team at NZ Van Lines were truly amazing. They made our cross-country move a smooth and stress-free experience. From start to finish, both the teams in Singapore and New Zealand were professional, friendly, and incredibly careful with our belongings.

They were helpful from our first contact with Matthew through the entire process. All our questions and concerns were answered and addresses. Our delivery experience was excellent. The crew (Krima,Tatiana, Elama, Fritz) did everthing we asked. They always said yes to whatever we asked. We would definitely recommend them.

We moved from California to Christchurch and used NZ Vanlines . We booked the door to door service and they were amazing !!! Very professional, easy to contact , detailed quote , friendly staff, the packing materials they used insured nothing arrived broken including glassware, vases and fragile items . The team in Christchurch were outstanding and couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly. They stored our belongings until we were ready to receive them, unpacked everything for us and then came and collected all our rubbish after we were finished unpacking !!! Amazing service !!!

My wife and I had a wonderful experience with NZ Vanlines when we decided to make the move from the UK to NZ.
We had exceptional communication throughout, especially from Matthew. He made sure we were kept in the loop at all times and ensured there were no surprises, especially when it came to the cost of the shipping.
Once the ship had departed we had tracking information, which made it quite fun for all the family to see where our goods were in the world.
Upon arrival in NZ the team here made sure that we were aware of everything we needed to know, including quarantine inspection, vehicle pick up and delivery dates.
The collection of the bike was seamless. Many hands make light work and this was proven by the team at the depot, providing muscles when muscles were needed.
Once our goods were delivered, the delivery team were exceptionally efficient in making sure the goods were put exactly where we wanted them.
We had a wonderful experience with NZ vanlines and should the opportunity arise again, we would definitely choose them and/or recommnend to anyone considering shipping their goods.

Good level of contact across the different phases of the move, and, pending the safe arrival of a box that went missing in transit, everything arrived in perfect condition. Finding the missing box was a bit of a drawn out process, but I’m very grateful that it has now been located and that the team are working hard to reunite us!

Matthew and the team were very helpful. Answering all questions when needed. They made the move smoother, and the PSS team used in England were efficient and professional. NZ Van lines were professional throughout and they made a stressful time easier, even with my short notice for pick up/moving.

We have used NZVanLines twice in one year as we moved to Aus from NZ and then unexpectedly had to return home only 10 months later for a family emergency. It was a hugely stressful time but Matthew and his colleagues were so communicative, helpful, patient and compassionate that the move was made much easier than it could have been! The packers and movers were also friendly, fast, efficient and reliable. The price we were quoted was also $4,000 less than a comparable company gave us, as they didn't hike for holiday season. We would definitely recommend using NZVanLines to others looking to move internationally.

I would have liked to have rated 5 STAR service, UNFORTUNATELY, once our goods arrived within New Zealand the customer service was really disappointing. We had our items sent from Scotland > NZ. Once our items arrived in NZ, we struggled to get hold of the customer services person (who would not answer our calls or emails and made the end process so difficult for us). We had to get hold of the Import sales manger (who was awesome) and arranged our goods to be delivered. The delivery company really let us down! We were told that our cartons would be unpacked (they never were) and when we were asked to sign a document to agree our items were delivered, they never explained to us that we were signing an unpacking waver at our own request. READ everything before you sign, really disappointing. One thing I would like to note, the company (White & Co) used to pack our items in Scotland were absolutely amazing!!!

We have had an unfortunate experience as NZ Van Lines have not upheld their contractual obligations. We’ve moved from the US to NZ. Nearly all our belongings were already packed from a previous move and we were told numerous times all would be repacked by the movers with their own boxes and packing materials and a detailed list of belongings would be made for customs. Those costs were included in our quote. We had very polite and courteous packers but they repacked very little and used all the boxes we had packed ourselves from our previous move. We were promised professional, boxed packaging of three expensive bikes. (The bikes arrived with only torn, shredded brown packing paper around them.) The day after our things were picked up we received an email saying we needed a detailed list of belongings. Very confusing as we were told they would make that list. When our belongings arrived in NZ we were then told we had to pay $1800 over the agreed upon contractual price in order to receive our things as they had incorrectly assessed the volume. They did two separate video surveys with our belongings already boxed and all together so am unsure how their estimation was so far off. Our belongings arrived about three weeks after our target date- not a problem as I believe it must be very difficult to time things when shipping internationally. When our things arrived at our new home, again we had friendly, courteous movers. But they just dropped our belongings off. The contract states they will unpack items and remove packing materials the day of delivery. That did not happen. I was told to do the unpacking myself and to contact NZ Van Lines when we were done unpacking to have the material and boxes removed. So alright, we unpacked everything ourselves that evening and let them know the packing materials were ready to be removed. That was over a week ago. The garage is unusable due to the massive amounts of packing debris. And they keep telling me they are “working” on getting it removed. It was supposed to be removed the day of delivery per the contract. There is also an entire box of our items that has gone missing and my requests for information on that have not garnered anything past the fact that they agree it is missing. There were several irreparably broken items (all from the few things they boxed up) and I’ve asked several times about how to file a claim but it’s apparent I’m being left to my own devices on that. Please do your homework on this company. If you simply google “NZ Van Lines reviews”, you will get so much more than the Trust Pilot reviews they steer you toward. Heck, someone was so dismayed they bought the domain of newzealandvanlines (as opposed to the actual website of the company which is nzvanlines)to warn people off using them. We certainly wish we had been more careful and we regret having used them.
UPDATE: After posting this original review I was contacted by the company actually requesting I remove the review. I said I may do that or add an edit if we could quickly resolve the packing debris issue. The rubbish was eventually removed, eleven days after it should have been. Imagine all the boxes, bubble wrap and paper it takes to ship a household-all left in our house. It was overwhelming. It was an exhausting battle to get it taken care of and I believe it never would have been resolved if I hadn’t posted this review and they hoped I would remove it. And our missing box was never located. We were told in writing we would be refunded the extra money we had to pay for their error in assessing the volume of our goods. That was twelve days ago and we have yet to receive it. Yet another failure to provide what they promise.They unfortunately fail to follow through on so many levels-blatant misrepresentation. Again, be very wary.

The people are very friendly and helpful. All my questions were always answered. The team delivering my goods were fantastic, high quality and quick. I would have preferred a little more proactive communication with updates as it all progressed and I was asked a few times for forms I’d already completed which was a bit confusing but overall good to deal with.
