AVOID AVOID AVOID

If I’m honest this whole process with move me has been the worst I’ve had hiring a car. I constantly got send emails asking me to fill in details I already had done, and I’m still getting them now even though I’ve returned the car.

My reception at green motion was awful and I absolutely knew I would get stung for something. As a result I never felt comfortable driving the car, getting a cab twice to avoid parking it in a public place. Even on return they didn’t want to know me, stating that if there are any issues or charges that they would contact move mee and I would get charged.

Regarding the mileage, I got told by a advisor to check the mileage and put in a few miles more to be safe. Alluding to me actually having to check the number on the mileage and putting more fuel in, not issuing the bars. I’m sure you have this call recorded. I then got charged £18.75 extra even though I sent proof in via live pics.

I will absolutely never be using move mee again, it was a huge pain, although your staff have been helpful, I’ve had to call up five times with questions and queries. What a waste of my time and yours

I am sorry to hear of your experience and we have investigated this further.

When completing ID through the Move Mee app this runs separately to the booking until it is attached by completing the pre-collection checklist. I can see that you completed the process and verified the booking but once the booking was verified you then reattempted the ID in the account details section of the app rather than the pre-collection checklist.

When this happens the system will automatically send reminders to you until the ID is completed or has expired. If you had made contact with us in regards to this then we could have stopped the reminders.

In relation to the Fuel and the Mileage on the vehicle. I have spoken to the location in regards to this and they advised when speaking to you, that they will need to check the information provided by yourself at check-out and if there are any issues they will inform us here at Move Mee and we can then inform you of any discrepancies.

When speaking to our agents here at Move Mee we will always do our best to ensure that you are fully aware of the process and we will also give you tips to ensure that there will be no charges at the end of the rental. On this occasion from speaking with the agent which you dealt with he has advised you to ensure the mileage is entered correctly as there would be charges for over mileage and with regards to the fuel to refill the car to the same point or even a little more than what you entered at the start of the rental to ensure there would be no fuel charges.

As this was not done, the location has then charged for the missing fuel as agreed to when signing your rental agreement.

I am surprised to hear that you have mentioned waiting 2 hours to collect your car as you spoke to our helpline at 10:28 to ask where the car was so you could pick up and you arrived at 10:55 and you had left the desk wit your vehicle at 11:18.

Appologises it took till 11:18 to collect the car, as you posted this review at 11:10 before collecting the car, I can understand your frustration on having to wait but when manual intervention is required on occasion you will have to wait in a queue, but I am glad that the whole process took 9 mins once a staff member was free.

As we explained on the phone before you reached the rental desk, as your credit card company advised that you had insufficient funds which created the need for manual intervention, and you only had a debit card, the alternative was to take out local insurance, this involves extra paperwork and checks that only the local rental desk can do.

We have not miss sold car package information and false delivery, as you made this booking through a third party broker I must suggest that you reach out to them as we have not advised you in anyway during your booking process.

You booked have also a priority package rather than keyless and in any case the collection instructions provided on your confirmation email from your booking provider and also the app did advise that you would need to take a shuttle to the rental desk wich runs every 10 minutes with a journey time of 3 minutes.

I am glad to see that you did collect the car in a speedy manner and hope you enjoy your trip.

ENORME ARNAQUE! A EVITER ABSOLUMENT!! A savoir: MOVEME sous-traite à des agences qui se comportent comme des escrocs: on vous remet une voiture dans un état lamentable (impossible d'utiliser le système de retrait du véhicule sans contact Moveme, la voiture étant trop vieille...) et dangereuse : le loueur a refusé de changer le véhicule à moins de payer 900 euros supplémentaires (!), malgré nos nombreuses alertes, et nous avons frôlé un accident grave sur l'autoroute en Grèce. Nous nous sommes retrouvés, choqués, sur l'autoroute, et MOVEME, quand quelqu'un daigne vous répondre, vous renvoie vers le loueur, et ne vous apporte AUCUNE AIDE NI SOUTIEN. De plus, le loueur vous facture des frais au montant ahurissant pour tout problème ou toute demande, et MOVEME s'en lave les mains. A éviter donc à tout prix!!

I am sorry that you forgot your credit card and was unable to collect your rental.

When a customer arives without the correct documentation or means of paying the deposit in your case a credit card, this is classed as a no show as per the terms and conditions of the booking and no refund is due.

If you had remembered your card everything was in place the car had been prepared and was waiting for you, from booking to preparation and staff time time does incur cost to ourselves and our partners and this is why all rental companies have a no-show policy.

I did a mistake and I booked one day…

I did a mistake and I booked one day earlier. I Call Greece rep and they told me OK no problem you will take it tomorrow with a minor penalty. Also they told me to call next day In the morning.
I did that and they told me they will be back
Nobody called back and as I was worried I called them 4 hours before my flight and they told me sorry your car is cancelled
I told them this is not true I call them so many times telling them what is going on and the last time before my flight they sorry?

I am sorry you think our helpline did not help you, I have looked into your booking and can see that you made a booking that required a credit card as advised in the terms and conditions of the booking, the alternative is to this is to take the local insurance so you do not have to pay a deposit, as per our email reply, sent within 10 mins for an instant reply you can either ring our helpline or use our live chat on www.movemee.io.

I can see that you have taken the local insurance and that you collected your rental.

Buyer beware

Buyer beware! Use Hertz, Enterprise, or just take an Uber!! Their customer service is non-existent. They stated I signed up for a car that I wasn’t even on a trip for and then charged an additional 70 dollars with no exceptions for an additional driver even though I would never be driving the vehicle. The site in all in Euros so needs to be converted last minute. All information that was needed on the app was for the driver which was a driver license, passport, selfie, credit card etc but that was a separate entity completely. Just save yourself the hassle and don’t book here.

Responding to your response…that is not true. If the account was in my name that is one thing I never put the rental In my name as I was never going on the trip. Even still I have never heard of not being able to change names on the car. This has been done even third party with other car companies. Actually I did it in July with Hertz no extra charge at all. Again 70 dollars for an extra driver is ridiculous to begin with

I have looked into your booking and as per our email response, you booked the car in your name rather than the person who would be renting the car, therefore when your they went to collect your car the rental desk correctly refused to rent the car as the names did not match, this is standard with any rental company, airlines do the same and you cannot use someone else's ticket.

I understand you realised your mistake and then completed the ID in the correct name, this does not effect the name on the booking and also failed.

The agent offered an alternative and advised that the main driver could be be put down as a second driver at the cost of $70.00 without this the driver would have been without a car and no refund would be due, many car rental desks will not allow this option and saved you renting from another company at a greater same day cost.

When on our web site, you can choose which currency to see your booking in before deciding on or paying for the rental, you can find this in the top right hand of page and stops the need to convert the rates yourself.

I have looked into your booking and can see that the App, worked and validated your ID and you have uploaded you're before and after pictures, however our partners in Thessaloniki checked your car out for you in advance in error so apologises for that as this should not have been done this stops you using the app and looks like an error to them, so they have taken the ID again.

I have been in touch with the rental desk so this does not happen for future customers.

Good idea but wouldn’t use them again

The idea of only having to use an app to pick up your car is great but too many issues along the way to use them again. Additionally, as they are only an agent instead of the rental company, if anything goes wrong, all they do is pass the blame onto the rental company and do not take any responsibility.

For example, in my case, I was charged £95 for a valet service (Rental company - Green Motion) as the vehicle was supposedly heavily soiled, sand in the boot and everywhere in the vehicle (I would love to upload a photo to show the extent of this but it doesn’t seem I can). In reality it was a small amount of sand in the drivers foot well and behind the drivers seat. We stopped on the way back to the airport for a walk and it was raining so I am not sure how I could of returned it any cleaner. I would of thought the standard clean would of been sufficient to clean up the sand.

I understand that Move Mee are not the rental company and are just acting as a middle man but as I booked with them and not Green Motion I expect Move Mee to be reasonable and act in my best interest. Unfortunately they do not comment on whether they think this is reasonable and continue to pass comments between myself and Green Motion. So many opportunities for this to be a positive experience but they didn’t seem interested.

If they continue to associate themselves with companies that are unreasonable and continue to not act in the customers interest then I am not sure how they will improve customer relations.

So to conclude, great idea but plenty to improve upon.

One of the worst experiences of my…

One of the worst experiences of my entire life. They say they are 'hassle free' but I suffered non-stop hassle from start to finish. Their app is atrocious. It didn't verify my documents so gad to go through a long-winded manual verification process that then didn't show up on the app. Plus i had to change planes and fly to a different nearby airport but, because i cancelled my booking within 24 hours, was charged The Whole Amount! And then had to book a completely new rental vehicle. I advise everyone to avoid them like the plague.

After posting this review I received a patronising response from this dreadful company barely acknowledging their incompetence or unhelpful attitude. I re-iterate. DO NOT USE THEM

I have looked into your booking and see that there was an issue with your ID and we had to manually verify your booking, when we do this rather than the automaticity system, it does not show in the App but all your details were passed on to the rental desk so your car would have been waiting for collection, apologises for the inconvenience caused.

The terms and conditions of your Carjet booking stated that you could amend your booking free of charge up to 24 hours before your collection time, this is a standard term on all car hire companies that Carjet deal with, as your airline changed the location of your plane without the 24 hours notices you may be able to claim the price of your rental back through them or any travel insurance you may have.

Claim to be digital

Claim to be digital - but are analog as the other ones. Main problem is that they work with no trustworthy companies. Movemee is just an agent. I rented a car in Rhodes and the rental agency ( greenline) gave us a so called brand new ac with tons of dents. Since I have not documented every little dent they charged me after return more than 500 € for the repair. They even said it was covered by the insurance of movemee, but it wasn‘t. PLEASE KEEP YOUR FINGERS OFF

i scraped a wheel and they charged me £750. when i questioned it i was told as it was so badley damaged that they also had to track and balance all 4 wheels
all i did was scrape against a kerb.
then when i asked for the wheel to prove they replaced i was told it was already disposed of

I ave investigated your comments and as you say, you damaged the wheels of the MW 118I M Sport 5DR that you rented from one of our partners, as you can imagine, all our partners do expect the cars to be returned in the condition that they were collected in and we do offer full insurance for any accidents that you did not take up on this rental, therefore in line with te terms and conditions that you agreed to, you are liable for replacing any damaged parts.

We have provided pictures of the damage that in your review you have mentioned you made, we aim to get the cars back on the road and in tip top condition, so we can rent again to the next customers and it also stops you incurring further charges whilst we were unable to rent the car. As we have evidence of the damage we have no need to store replaces wheels.

Avoid hiring a car here

First thing first the app you need to use to get the car is totally useless so frustrating over 2 hours I was on it drove me nuts
So tryed calling the phone number no answer still waiting on them getting back to me
And for the £1250 deposit you need to put onto your credit card is shocking
You have to phone them to pick you up asked if I can get the address to go there myself NO we come pick you up at airport
Got took back to the airport with Louis Hamilton idiot driving a mini bus flying over the speed bumps myself and a older lady were bouncing out the seats
ASKED ONE FOR THERE STAFF TO LOOK AT THE CAR I JUST RETURNED

I JUST WANTED THE CAR LOOKED OVER AS I WANTED MY FULL DEPOSIT BACK

As you can imagine we cannot rent a car unless we can can validate your address and who we are renting the car to, therefore as you did this advance we refunded your booking in full, I understand you may find this frustrating but now understand why we have these procedures in place and amend your score accordingly.

Once you have an up to date driving licence with the correct address and corresponding ID on will welcome any bookings from you.

Don't waste your time

Buggy app, which took ages to get through all the repeat validations of ID, license etc. as I constantly had to restart the process. Not really sure of the point of the app either as you'll need all the documents to collect the car anyway; basically just extra steps compared to a normal rental. Poor customer service as well, it took an hour for me to get through to request a refund and was then told they'd look into my request and get back to me... It's now been over a month and I've given up.

Horrendous service

Horrendous service. Complete opposite to what was advertised. Ended up having to wait in queue for 40 minutes to add an extra driver. The man on the counter in the Green Motion Car Park (Edinburgh Airport) hadn’t got a clue what was happening. I asked for a manual car and got an automatic. Didn’t dare complain at the time as we were seriously delayed as it was. Got a fine from Edinburgh Council for driving in bus Lane but the company will not send me a copy of the fine and were extremely efficient at removing the money from my account. Avoid at all costs.

I am sorry to hear of the experience which you have faced with regards to the collection of the car. When making a booking with Move Mee and any additional extras are required we always ask that customers let us know sop we can add them on so there would be no need to queue at the desk to get the car.

In relation to the comments on the agent in Edinburgh I will raise this to the team at the rental station to ensure that they are all fully aware of the Move Mee process.

When making a booking we always advertise that the car would be or similar and in some cases due to issues with the rental and previous customers late returns the desk will always provide an upgrade to the next category available and sometimes this means that the cars transmission will be either manual or automatic. I understand that this was inconvenient but in the event the agent at the desk is not advised you dont allow them the opportunity to resolve the issue.

I am sorry to hear also that you received a fine from the local council for driving in the bus lane, when this happens the rental station is then issued the fine directly and we then have to have them reissue the fine which comes with a lot of admin. this is why you will have been charged an admin fee which you agreed to and signed at the start of the rental. Also, when this happens and the fine is re-issued by the local authority we are not in the position to provide more copies of the fine as we no longer have access to this.
