Motor Trade Logistics and Motorway: Reliable Service, But Watch Out for Dealer Tactics.

Motor Trade Logistics and Motorway have both proven to be reliable companies that offer good customer service.
The person who came out to do the appraisal was professional, polite, and respectful.
Motorway arranged the collection of my car, which was sold to a dealer called FRF Motors, based in Wales. The process from start to finish was smooth, and I was kept well informed throughout by both companies.

Now, about the dealer and their tactics (I’ve left a similar review on Motorway to help spread awareness):
The car was valued at a competitive price, which I verified using platforms like Autotrader and Carwow. Using the app on my phone, I uploaded all the necessary photos and documents. FRF Motors arranged for Motor Trade Logistics to collect the car. The person who came was polite and communicated well. Although there was a connection issue with the Motorway app on his phone, he managed to complete the appraisal.

The Dealer Experience: Disappointing

Unfortunately, the dealer used the same old tactics to knock the price down. They tried to find faults that, when they resell the car from their forecourt, will suddenly become “acceptable for its age.” Their approach is to place a higher bid and then, on the day of collection, attempt to reduce the price. That’s exactly what happened to me.

Apparently, there was a stone chip that wasn’t flagged in the MOT and wasn’t mentioned when I bought the car a few months ago from a main dealer. To be fair, I didn’t disclose it either, as I only noticed it during the appraisal obviously my fault. Still, it’s a 2017 plate, not a pristine car, so a stone chip shouldn’t be a big deal. I had taken half a day off work and didn’t want to waste more time. The dealer knocked off £150. All that fuss just to shave off £150. Their behaviour was rude, aggressive, and even included threats to cancel the sale if I didn’t accept the final offer.

Final Thoughts
Despite the dealer experience, I’m still satisfied with Motor Trade and Motorway. It’s not really their fault. My advice is to upload clear photos of any damage you can spot. I missed two minor issues, and they used that to reduce the price. But honestly, I’m convinced that no matter how many photos you upload, they will still try to knock something off even if it’s just £100. Maybe they get a thrill or sense of achievement from it. It’s typical car dealer behaviour, and sadly, they’ve earned their bad reputation for a reason.

MTL were the company , designated to pick up my car after selling to a dealer , they kept me well informed of the date of collection , and updated throughout the actual day . The pickup driver was Wayne who was very professional and , extremely knowledgeable , ,but importantly a really friendly charismatic chap , who talked me through the car examination process before completion . Would definitely recommend this company .

Steven came down to me. I had adequate notice he was coming to inspect the vehicle. He is well spoken, talked me through the process inspected the car and once he was happy and all the paperwork was done he was gone.

The chap from MTL arrived on time after prior call.
He was very thorough in examination of exterior and interior. He suggested I ride with him for test drive which I did.
After he spoke to buyer I received payment into my designated bank account.
I would certainly recommend MTL.

Shortly after Motorway contacted me to let me know that my car would be collected the following day John contacted me to tell me what time he expected to arrive. The following day he kept me informed and arrived spot on the arranged time. John was friendly, yet totally professional. He inspected the car thoroughly and took it for a test drive but it never looked/felt as though he was looking to find additional faults. He gave me complete confidence in the process and liaised with the buyer and even helped with informing the DVLA of the sale. He is an excellent ambassador for Motor Trade Logistics.

This was a sale through motorway car sales. The driver who collected the vehicle was friendly, professional and reassuring. I would recommend their services.

Today I had a pleasant experience from Olusegan after selling my car via Motorway. I was very apprehensive about this, I expected to be knocked down on price, argued with and bullied into a sale.

Olu was an absolute breath of fresh air. He was nice and thorough with his appraisal and confirmed my car was immaculate. Unfortunately, the dealership was awful, they tried to pressure Olu into finding a fault, "the car is 7 years old, surely you can find something."

Olu refused to in his own words "make up a fault". He phoned Motor Trade Logistics who were not pleased with the dealership's behaviour. Olu refused to leave until I was 100% satisfied.

Terry came to collect my car sold via motorway. Really nice guy, and gave the car a thorough and fair examination & test drive. Helped me also liaise with the buyer to finalise payment which happened in minutes. Was a pleasure to deal with.

My experience of the collection of my car yesterday was great. Jaz, the driver was polite, respectful and did his job so efficiently. The service was very good. Jaz arrived on time as scheduled.

Had my car sold and Motor Trade Logistics were the carriers for the collection. Arrange a collection date with the office, smooth and simple. Then on the day for collection Pete was my guy. I didn't think much of it when I received his first message and just waited for his arrival. Pete was genuinely outstanding, appraised my car and explained everything in detail without any issues. Made an exceptional job and was done. But what I didn't know is that he is the person that is among the rare and will put an extra step forward to show how much he cares! Without people like himself no company would be this admired and he definitely deserves a brighter future. Absolutely appreciate it Pete! Thank you very much!!!!

Very efficient company. Mark made his way by train and was very good with the inspection, explaining what happens next and then arranged a call to the office and within seconds I had the money and my finance settled. Great experience and service.

The driver from Motor Trade Logistics came today to collect my vehicle in order to deliver to the buyer.
Cam was very professional and let me know of the time the day before and contacted me again within an hour of arrival this morning.
Would definitely recommend for collection & delivery of vehicles.

Oh my goodness. The most lovely, honest and friendly person I’ve had the pleasure to deal with. He could not do enough to help and he even helped me with some tips on dealing with my grief!
