Max has excellent knowledge about dog's needs and where I'd just been focussing on 'training' my dog, after watching Max's lessons I quickly realised that I needed to be focussing on my dogs needs otherwise no amount of training would work effectively long term.

We are extremely pleased to have discovered Max’s excellent advice. He has guided our understanding of how to care for our young dog’s needs by showing us exactly what we need to do to enrich her life. The easily digestible videos are brilliant and have produced results fairly quickly. Our dog is doing very well, although not perfect, we can see how we are improving a little every day and our stress levels are much reduced.

So far I'm learning an awful lot about how to keep my young dog happy. I have a few training skills but am relearning others. Still a way to go but MK9Plus has been the best platform so far. I've just started phase 2 and have a few questions as we navigate the teenage years. Sometimes I despair, but then I notice that my dog is noticing me more and responds more. I really appreciate Max's honesty when talking about his own dog. It gives me hope 😅

We are working our way through the phases and it has hit us how much we don't know about dogs... every day is a school day and we feel with this new information we will be better able to give our fur baby Mac what he needs to live a peaceful and rewarding life. I’m getting a puppy soon and was keen to get a good foundational knowledge of how to understand her needs and look after her as a puppy and as she grows up. The videos so far have been incredibly helpful and I would highly recommend this platform to anyone who has a dog and cares about giving their dog the best possible life.

I joined MK9plus because I have a rescue GSD who is reactive ! After listening to Max’s meet their needs seminar I was hooked and I’ve not been disappointed! This program is not a quick fix , but it’s better than that ! There are so many informative videos on the site and Max is so good at responding to emails when I have a more specific issue ! I’ve changed my dogs food and so much of her daily routine , I am starting to see small positive changes ! The program teaches you so much a o it every aspect of your dog !

Interesting videos, short and to the point. Website is very user friendly. I have learned so much more in a short space of time. I particularly like Max's 'common sense' approach and teaching style. They are dogs not humans and have their own needs we just have to listen and learn. 🐾

I’m working my way through the second stage. I find it confusing that within the stages there are reference to stand alone sessions but the advice it do the stages first. So far it is what I have already covered with previous training/ behaviourist so I will continue. I like the links to research papers etc ( I’m a theory first learner - my dog is an I already know learner … )

Worth every penny! The lessons are very valuable for understanding your dogs needs and gives you a good idea of how to best meet them. I’m 6 weeks into the program and learning more every day. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to get a peaceful relationship with their dog. Only regret I didn’t discover this platform earlier, when having a puppy.

I adopted a rescue and hadn’t had a dog since I was a kid and so didn’t know a whole lot about how to be a good dog parent! I love Max’s general philosophy to not “de-dog” my dog and focused on learning a lot about my dog and keeping her needs met. I will also mention I happen to be a neuroscientist specializing in learning and motivation and dopamine, and I was pretty impressed with Max’s distillation of the key concepts from the field as they pertain to dog learning and motivation!

I’ve a new pup and wanted to look at training again as we had a few issues with our last dog. Looked at some trainers, really didn’t feel comfortable with the methods. Anyway MK9plus and Max’s approach is radically different and has been a real eye opener. It certainly debunks a lot of old myths and feels a much more humane way to build a life together with your new companion. I can’t recommend MK9plus highly enough

I subscribed to MK9Plus after joining the 'meet them needs' webinar.
I've got a rescue that is quite fearful, dog-reactive, scared of strangers, that loooooves to hunt. As a first time dog owner, I was overwhelmed and emotionally exhausted.
You can find a lot of dog trainers, who make you believe that you just need to train more, correct unwanted behaviours, etc, but it just didn't feel right.

Max's approach is science based, and it focuses on the root causes of the behaviour issues, rather than just treating a symptom as it is often done in the 'traditional training' approach. It's about getting the foundations right, so that the dog can live a life that it's meant for them.
And this really resonates with me.

There is a lot of information in the videos, to give everyone the tools they need to understand their own dog and situation.
I think every dog owner would benefit from the knowledge in there, even if the dog doesn't have any behavioural issues.

I'm a month in, have watched a lot of videos, and it made me take things slower again with Tilly (having more rest days), I've implemented more scatter feeding and feeding from a sensory box, and I think it's helped my girl to be more inquisitive and more confident. She even started stealing the odd item in the house (like a wooly headband, or a sanding sheet), sometimes just to sniff/investigate, sometimes to chew on - and even though this might not be a behaviour that other owners want to encourage with their pup, it's a huge step for us, as it shows she's getting more confident and inquisitive.

Don't expect quick fixes, and I feel like I've got a long way ahead of me, but it really helps to learn and understand more about dogs, and to see the world through their eyes.

So I can only recommend it.

The only thing I would say is that sometimes I wish there were more examples in the videos. Max is great at explaining concepts, but I think more examples would help me implement things easier (probably also because I'm not very creative). E.g. this ist how to handle a situation where your dog is reactive, or fearful, how to de-sensitise them to xyz, whilst working on getting the foundations right in the long term
That said, I've not watched every video, so more hands on stuff might be coming.
And maybe some videos could be cut down a bit, but then look at my review here, I guess I'm just as bad :-D

Also, you can leave comments on the videos, and Max does reply to lots of them, which is really nice.
