Extra costs
The team moving us on the day were quick and efficient, however we were quoted 1 Luton, it was explained that should there be a need for another, we would need to pay, but someone came to view our house and belongings for the quote, we even removed some of the bits ourselves prior to moving, yet they still arrived with two Lutons in the morning (as if they knew it was going to need two) and then said when they got to our new house that until we paid the additional £475 they would not start unpacking.
I wish I would have read the reviews prior to booking as this seems to be a common issue.
I would request the teams who attend the viewing to quote the number of Luton's needed may need additional teaching. Moving house is expensive enough, without the pressure of needing to find an extra £475 on the day of moving.
Blackmail and not the first time
Good quote to move a hot tub and gazebo. Removers were good but when we got to the other end I was told that it was a bigger job than expected and the price was more. I was told that what usually happened was of people refused to pay the hot tub would be taken to the yard and held until extra payment was received...blackmail.
Highly recommend
Highly recommend! From the quotation appointment, to my many panicked questions over the phone leading up to the move, staff really put my mind at ease, knowing this was one aspect of the move I didn’t have to worry about. The moment the guys turned up they immediately eased a very stressful move day. They were all so friendly and nothing was too much. Everything was handled with care and professionalism. Very pleased with the service as a whole

Phenomenal and cost effective!
Mitchells Removals have been absolutely phenomenal for us! We moved from Southeast to Southwest London. We used their packing service the day before the moving and they started loading 2 vans on the same day at no extra cost.
Initially, we were a bit nervous because they were the cheapest removal company we could find although they had their own branded vans, which was a good sign. We got a video quotation for our entire 3-bedroom flat, including a very full attic. I have to say also here, compared to many expensive companies, they didn’t ask many questions because obviously they know what they’re doing.. some of the competitors literally almost counted the frames we had and wanted to charge extra to empty the loft or said we'd have to clear it ourselves – and they were charging generally already a lot more/twice than Mitchells!
Overall, I really can't recommend them enough and I'd definitely used them again. Just a note: we did partially pack the house ourselves beforehand, so the packing time would likely have been a bit longer than quoted. Also, I guess it’s good to remember every moving company to be gentle on floors and with certain items/boxes. When we did ask, they immediately took any direction onboard.
The Professionals.
In so many ways we had the worst possible move one could imagine, mainly because of the legal profession. Suffice to say, we finally got the keys five minutes before the deadline of a bank holiday weekend - there were certain other nasty factors as well. But like knights in shining armour came the men from Mitchells - Paul, Tony, Shaun (apologies to the others for not remembering their names). They were cheerful, patient and encouraging in endless hours of waiting and when, at last, they could start, their energy and professionalism was admirable. I might say that from careful packing and emptying the old house right through to moving in and taking the packaging away the following week, these removal men were a fine example of experience and professionalism.

House move with Mitchell's
The company did show up at the appointed times (albeit too early on the move day itself. They did the packing the day before). Some parts of the admin were painless, but one recurring problem being that, be it by email or phone, they simply don't come back to you, there is a communication problem also in trying to reach the people you need.
They later mistook my phone number but lacked the presence of mind to have at least one or more of their people each time they turned up to ask me to verify said number. This meant that, sadly, just at the point when all of the furniture was sitting outside to be moved into the new house, I was suddenly held to ransom, being treated akin to a common criminal, the woman on the phone who had called round to assess the job (Newman), stating that they wouldn't do any more until I'd coughed up there and then. Perhaps they've been turned over in the past but this was not a problem of my making and I'd had no desire to defraud anyone, especially if they knew where I lived, surely. Her approach was unpleasant, like that of a rottweiler, even though she was forced sheepishly to admit her error. In paying with a gun to my head, there wasn't a way even to check what I was paying for. Beware of this, should soft skills and communication be important to you.
The move itself was cordial enough and mostly fine. One team member I will commend was someone called Martin - he was always respectful, helpful and attentive and these are the personalities you want to be dealing with at this time. There was also a teenager who became better behaved with time but while at the old house suddenly developed a prolonged sneezing spree, didn't know how to use a hankie, if he'd even heard of one and, from the off, continually sprayed his snot all around the walls. If there had been an untainted wall, he'd have sniffed it out and sprayed it. No-one appeared to have had a word with him but maybe they had as he soon cut out the childish behaviour at the new house we were moving in to. Just as well otherwise he'd have been thrown out.
Some boxes weren't properly marked but were subsequently things were located but the whole experience might easily have been better. You only use such firms sparingly and so you don't know what to expect until the job's done.
Avoid incredibly unprofessional service…
I strongly advise against using this moving company due to my frustrating experience. We chose them for an internal apartment move based on a competitive quote, but they damaged several items, including a brand new IKEA chest of drawers and our sofa. The movers arrived late and were unsure where to park, and shockingly, they billed us for time spent fetching tools and renewing parking tickets, charging us for an extra hour despite only taking 15 minutes. When we addressed this with the owner, Jeff, he responded rudely and aggressively, clearly needing customer communication training. While the movers were friendly, the overall service was incredibly unprofessional, and I hope sharing this helps others avoid the same disappointment.
Excellent removal service
Tony and his team managed our move from Croydon to Kent and did a superb job. They were happy to site all furniture exactly as we wanted it, especially as access was not that easy. I would thoroughly recommend them.
The house clearance team
I used the house clearance team. 3 men and one big lorry. The men did an amazing and swift job. They were courteous and jolly. I would certainly recommend Mitchell's moving company.
Office Move
Good service from the office administration through to the moving crew. Move completed on schedule and within budget. Would use again.
Mitchell’s were absolutely brilliant
Mitchell’s were absolutely brilliant. They completely took the stress out of packing and moving. The whole team were very polite and professional, and everything was organised so well. We are truly thankful for the whole service and would definitely book again.

Move from London
The boxing up and then the move were both extremely efficiently carried out by friendly removal staff and everything was moved with no damage or issues whatsoever. The booking and scoping procedure was also very smooth and straightforward. The company gave a useful advance heads up on the need for additional personnel for the move itself, and the cost involved - however they could have been a little more transparent about some of the additional costs which then emerged after the move had taken place.
No stress moving day
From my first meeting with Mitchell's Moving Company, I felt very comfortable. They were very competitively priced. Everyone at Mitchell's couldn't be more helpful. They guys on the day were friendly and very respectful with my possessions. They handled my possessions with total care. I would most definitely recommend Mitchell's Moving Company to anybody about to move. In fact I recommended them to my Estate Agent already. A big thank you again to the whole team, who made what could have been a very stressful day run so smoothly, and stress free.
A bad experience
I would never use Mitchells again, or recommend them, apart from the removal men who all worked hard on both days and were polite, but when my things went into storage for nine days to be looked after untill I could move into my new property after being returned some of my items were severly damaged, the most helpful person in the office was Leanne she was very kind but the owner Jeff was so very rude to me on the phone it was shocking how he spoke to me and my 15 year old daughter who heard the way he spoke to me when I was trying to speak to him about my claim, he also insinuated these items were already like it before when they wernt and that i found most insulting, company didnt want to know after receiving my two lots of removal money from me and I felt the owners attitude especially after i had paid then drastically changed. There was no empathy from him atall and the items that were damaged I will have to replace as the settlement will barely cover all. I went with them because they were the cheapest but the experience wasnt a nice one at the end and frankly left a bad taste.

You get what you pay for.....and they were the cheapest!
The removals men were all really nice and incredibly hard working but the office team, with the exception of Alison are awful. The move was meant to be spread over 2 days and essentially the team on the first day were meant to do all the packing and they basically didn't do anywhere near enough. They also wrapped everything really poorly, even wrapping our plants (most of which died) in paper with tape, a lot of things were broken, labelling was terrible etc.
Next day the loading team had far too much to do, they were really good but it was quite clear we weren't going to meet the exit time so I basically had to be the extra man, cleared all the garden myself, loaded the truck etc etc...it was complete chaos.
Once we had got the keys to the new house the calls from Jeff the owner of Mitchells started straight away, he wasn't concerned about the issues he just wanted payment. Once I finally had chance to answer a call (funnily enough we were quite busy unloading the lorry) and I explained all the issues to Leanne they literally couldn't have cared less. The threats started straight away that if we didn't pay the remaining amount they would refuse the unload anything further from the truck. We paid but asked for Jeff to call us back to discuss the problems and obviously we never heard a thing. Bottom line is they are cheap for a reason......because they are terrible!

Competitive and hard working
Good contact between them & us. Very competitive price range, with no hidden costs. Hard working employees on the move day, who were friendly & professional. Move day went very smoothly. A very good experience for what could be a stressful time.

Appalling service!!
