My family absolutely loved the fruit cake. I have enjoyed homemade Christmas cakes all my life and this was as good if not better. We will be back! Many thanks Meg Rivers.

So I am writing this review as a cautionary warning to anyone who is thinking of buying from Meg Rivers Artisan Bakery.
I paid the princely sum of £53 for the Showstopper Christmas Stag cake.
It arrived in a dented tin. This cake is absolutely nothing like it is described on the website. It is so gooey it seems under cooked and has zero flavour of alcohol. The icing is too soft and it was incredibly disappointing.
However if I thought the cake was bad I hadn't bargained on the delightful Jess at customer services. Very dismissive and rude. Repeating the same parrot like words to anyone who dares to have a complaint. The only Artisan here is the Artful Dodgers who refuse to issue refunds for substandard goods.
So save your time and money and get a Lidal Christmas cake!
Oh and Meg Rivers please don't bother to reply as I am sure your words will only be as shallow as your service.

I organised boxes of brownies as a thank you for my team after successful delivery of a huge project. Jessica couldn't have been more helpful, allowing me to upload the info in a spreadsheet rather than having to fill in multiple orders. She also coordinated all the deliveries so they were all there within 48 hours. The heart shaped brownies were gorgeous and totally delicious, leading to a very happy team!

I ordered two marzipan and iced fruit cakes for my son and his girlfriend as they share the same birthday. The cakes were really delicious, packed full of fruit and nuts. Better even than those we’ve previously had from F&M and H@rrods!

I've ordered the white wedding cake, 2 tiers, with white flowers on top...
First of all, the box arrived head down, therefore there was written on the box, ,,This Way Up"...
Secondly, these little flowers arrived in separate box, with edible glue.
Good luck when assembling this, it tuk me several hours, as the glue was not working.
The flowers were super unequal, literally impossible to put them on top.
By the time I managed to do job of somebody else, the icing on top was dirty flor glue and ruined the cake.
I would never ever buy anything from here, ever again!!!
It's overpriced for what it is and overrated!!!
Avoid!!!

Lovely brownies (not too rich and a really nice moist level), taste homemade and fresh. I will be using this bakery again for future occasions.

Beautiful presented, the biscuits are fresh, tasty and so delicious they melt in your mouth the best!!. They make a wonderful gift and are something special. Alice kept me updated on my delivery. She is lovely, and incredibly helpful. The service she has given is outstanding and delivery was prompt. Highly recommend thank you.

Ordered the coffee walnut for other half's birthday, he is loving it. Fast postal service and hour delivery slot is also greatly appreciated by me. For coffee cake lovers this is the cake to get. Yummy and moist.

I ordered a fruit cake for my Mum's birthday. The cake was delivered when promised by the Meg Rivers team in good time for the birthday party and was perfectly and securely packaged. The fruit cake itself was AMAZING and very much enjoyed by all. I would highly recommend Meg Rivers Bakers of Happiness, the fruit cake delivered what it said on the tin :)

Ordered a Christmas cake that was outstanding! Really moist and rich and tasted just exactly the way my Mothers always tasted ,arrived well packaged and in plenty of time ,stayed fresh for ages . SO good I also ordered a chocolate birthday cake which was just as amazing ! Will definitely be using again . Delicious!!

I cannot praise this company enough for going above and beyond in their resolving a delivery. They kept in contact with me at all times.
Their cakes are superb!

Have sent a few E.mails ,but they don’t seem to answer ! .Wedding cake ,good flavour , but a nightmare to cut.The interior looked great , but the whole of the cake was falling apart,a right mess …
One of guests tried to eat one of the ‘edible’ roses ,hence a £280 .dental bill
NOT acceptable for £115 cost most of cake left uneaten, you don’t usually eat with a spoon,quite embarrassing….POOR SHOW

Such a good company to deal with. Polite and friendly. And the cakes ....marvellous. Just opened the simnel cake for Easter; it was the best I have ever tasted. A true delight: moist, lovely fruit and delicious marzipan icing.

The Valentine’s chocolate cake was delicious but very expensive and TINY!! For the price I was expecting a proper size cake. My husband and I had half each tonight but we’d been expecting seconds for a few nights. We never imagined it would be so little we’d eat it in one go.

Delicious tray bakes customers delighted as had similar after last baby, very timely too they were very excited hoping it wa going arrive again

I decided to treat myself to a cake club subscription, so duly paid nearly £300 for the year. First cake was a lime and gin drizzle. Mediocre at best, very little flavour, couldn’t detect any gin and just a hint of lime, certainly not worth the £24 price tag on the website. Next up was the carrot cake, my favourite but unfortunately that was a let down too. Heavy taste of baking powder and as it’s only got a shelf life of 6 days and it takes 2 days to reach you, you’ve got 4 days to eat it. And don’t think you’ll maybe stretch that for a day or 2 as it goes very mouldy, very quickly.
2 cakes down, 10 to go, I should be looking forward to my next one but unfortunately that’s not the case. It’s been an expensive lesson, one which I won’t repeat!

Failure to deliver next day. Please be aware the delivery cut-off for next day deliveryordering is 12 noon. If you are 2 mins late you will miss the cut-off. So do NOT pay for next day delivery on Thursday after 12 noon as your money will be wasted you need to pay for Saturday delivery otherwise your cake sits in a DPD warehouse over the weekend. This is not made clear on the website and no attempt is made to contact you and ask if you want to upgrade your delivery.

Easy ordering and delivered on time. Slightly disappointed at how crumbly the wedding cake was even though it was very tasty, it was impossible to cut a decent slice.
