AVOID this company whatever you do
AVOID this company whatever you do. Incapable of running property. INCOMPETENT and totally unwilling to deal with problems. I had BLACK MOULD for over 4 months. Never replied nor deal with. I had to leave. Now I am owed rent refund for over 6 weeks. CANNOT GET ANYONE TO REPLY BY PHONE NOR EMAIL. This company should lose their right to trade. Dangerous!
Very poor management and lack of accountability
I have had an extremely disappointing experience with this management company. There are numerous ongoing issues within the development that have been raised repeatedly by residents, some of which have remained unresolved for over a year.
Communication is a major problem. Responses are either very slow or non-existent, and when updates are provided, they often include deadlines that are not met. This has led to a complete lack of confidence in their ability to manage the site effectively.
Key concerns include broken safety and external lighting (leaving areas unsafe at night), unsecured building access, persistent cleanliness issues in shared spaces, unfinished landscaping that was part of the original offering, non-operational EV charging points, and abandoned vehicles taking up resident parking.
Despite these being raised multiple times, there has been little to no meaningful progress.
The overall standard of management falls well below expectations, and it is frustrating to feel ignored while continuing to pay for a service that is not being delivered. I would not recommend this company based on my experience.

Worst ever letting agency
Worst ever letting agency, no reply for the emails. Gracy who never picked or replied our email. If you guys keep on appointing children like Gracy you guys will get low ratings, If there was a 0 star for the rating I’ll definitely go for that for the great Gracy. Thank you Gracy for not replying and not for doing the things that you are supposed to do and also for the childish behaviour you are showing us.

Absolutely awful experience. I’ve been living here for 4 months and I’ve managed to successfully get through to this agency ONCE. They never respond - have poor management skills and are incredibly rude.

I find it positively frightening that students are living in MCR properties. MCR were our landlords for our business property a few years back.
Their motto is clearly do nowt and spend nowt. Didn’t even do the mandatory stuff like service the fire alarm or extinguishers. There was clearly some dispute with the refuse collectors as the bins weren’t emptied for months.
We had to renew our lease during their tenure and had to spend a small fortune on solicitors to make sure we weren’t ripped off.

MCR - Elfin Square Embankment, Edinburgh
I recently rented a property from MCR at Elfin Square, Edinburgh, for a 9-month period from October 2024 to June 2025, and had a very positive experience. The property was managed by Mrs. Shaheda, who demonstrated professionalism and was consistently supportive throughout our stay. She clearly communicated the rules and ensured everything was handled within operational guidelines, making the tenancy smooth and stress-free. The MCR flats are well-located and well-maintained. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable and comfortable rental experience!"
Unhelpful and unprofessional company
Moved into a property and I must say that they are the most unhelpful and unprofessional company ever. I have to ask for the inventory, the electric, and the water readings. I have no hot water cause they refused to send someone to adjust the controls, but would send me poorly instructed YouTube videos to do it myself or ask me to pay for them to send an electrician to do it. I was robbed, and guess what? They don't care either. They refused to watch the videos and identify who went into my apartment.

I had a great stay at the Embankment West property. The building management was very professional, and Shaheda was especially supportive and helpful throughout. Her friendly and attentive approach made my experience even better. I highly recommend this place!

Have been a tenant going on three years now through MCR and even if tenancy agreements change due to owners needs, Michelle has always been on hand to help me find another rental and in the same building ! The rental market is not an easy one to navigate and MCR and Michele has always been willing to help. Thank you 🙏
The worse agency
The worse agency! We moved out of the property October 2024 we made sure the flat was left in immaculate condition and we received our full deposit back through the protected deposit company. MCR group later on emailed us privately stating that we still owe them £300 "rent areas" with zero evidence and they did not bring this forward when going through the deposit agency. Once we responded to the emailing stating that we have been through the deposit agency and they have deemed we do not owe any money, 6 months after and we received another email from MCR stating we owe £114 for terrace fee... this MCR group are crooks and scammers. Kirsty Holloway and Amina Patel are the most incompetent people I have ever met but mostly watch out for Kirsty Holloway she's a little scammer she will scam you for as little as £50 very desperate people.
Excellent Landlord – Highly Recommended
I had a great experience renting from mcr in Sheffield . Especially when dealing with Lisa Riley She was always friendly, professional, and quick to sort out any issues. The property was well maintained, and communication was super easy throughout my tenancy. I really appreciated how stress-free everything was.

0 Star is what I can rate MCR hmes. They caused us to lose 1000 pounds with the car rental company, we rented a car because our car needed the MTO done. we registered the car, knowing that it had to be done every day. We ended up with AVIS taking 1000 from our account because of tickets issued by MCR /parking eye. MCR told us that it is our fault and they did not even bother helping us with phone numbers or negotiating with the parking. It is the first time we tenants have experienced being charged for parking in our building parking...
Kitchen sink/ dishwasher is clogged, and the sink is filled up with water. We had to use plastic plates and take away food because the sink is not usable... The washing machine is leaking water onto the kitchen floor. All that, and MCR is doing nothing but giving us the worst customer service over the phone. we were even told that it is our fault that the sink is clogged.

My experience with MCR was stress free…
My experience with MCR was stress free and easy from start to finish. I was accepted for my tenancy after using the great company vouch for referencing, this was completed in 24 hours. 24 hours after that I had my signed ast.
Kirsty Holloway was very helpful and got me into the property within 2.5 weeks from enquiry to keys.
I feel that a lot of negative reviews are based on people who have had issues with the property and therefore wrote a bad review.
Not many people will review an estate agent, but I will because I feel that all the bad reviews are unfair against MCR.
I had no issue and can’t fault the service I received.
