I started training at McGowan Muay Thai around 6 months ago and I’ve not looked back since.

Rejoined Muay Thai after 10 years out. MMT is the best place around in Bedford, the number of champions out of their proves it. Dan and his team are top tier professionals and make time for everyone.

It’s becoming a key part of my life routine and I’m thankful for the opportunity to train again, especially in such a great gym. the equipment is the best you can buy and everyone helps each other out.

The best Thai gym in Bedford great friendly staff and well trained coaches who are very easy to get along with and make you feel like you’re at home and your one big family which makes the vibes immaculate and to get the help you need! The classes have put my out of my comfort zone and pushed me to do the best without feeling like I’m being judged! The gyms aura is brilliant, clean and tidy and comfortable and there will always be a friendly face to help you at the reception desk or in the gym in general!

Absolutely amazing gym, ever since I joined 6 months ago and come back recently training hard everyday. Dan, Liam and Paolo always make sure to push you hard to make sure you really achieve the best you can. Training everyday has built amazing discipline and confidence, not just for Muay Thai but for everything in my life.

Coming from a challenging background I have engaged in Muay Thai for many years to provide me with a lifestyle that encompasses a healthy and sustainable life!

In my opinion, McGowan Muay Thai operates more so as a a family style social enterprise, engaging all ages of the community with a common set of principles being taught, Respect, discipline, motivation and healthy life choices!

MMT trains its students using the most tradition style of Muay Thai, which is very rare in the UK! This is filtered through the classes with Dan McGowans vast in depth and life lived experience as a Legendary UK and World Muay Thai fighter and now trainer!
MMT also has other legends training the students too so the quality of work is unparalleled !

I've trained at several martial arts gyms over the years since my late teens, and without a doubt, this one is by far the best. The coaches (Dan, Tim and Parn) are some of the most approachable people and coaches I've ever trained under; the coaching quality is second to none, with great emphasis on the small details. The training itself is extremely physically and mentally demanding, and will thoroughly prepare you for whatever your goals are, as long as you put the graft in.

However, my favourite thing about McGowan's has to be the atmosphere. I've never seen such wholesome comradery in any of the gyms I've trained at. You may fight on your own, but you train with a team of lads and ladies who just want to help you out and watch you progress, whilst having great banter along the way. There truly never is a dull moment at McGowan's.

This gym over the past 6 months for me has been more then learning a martial art, along side training in Muay Thai Iv learnt how to become more tough physically and mentally because of all the teachers at McGowan Muay Thai.

It can be intimidating at first but the team have always made efforts to include you and make you feel welcome. MMT!!! Best gym going

As a mid 30s dad and business owner I don't get much free time and was really debating wether to get back into training martial arts, having taken a number of years away from any training. I can say I'm glad I decided to go to Dan's classes at mcgowan muay thai. Was made to feel welcome from the first class and over a year and a half later I can say the atmosphere is still second to none. Outstanding coaching and a great group there. If your on the fence don't hesitate. Couldn't imagine not training here now it's become a highlight of my week.

As a relative newcomer to combat sports I've learnt a lot from coaches Dan, Tim and Parn, as well as the many fighters that train at this gym. There's a real focus on conditioning as well as technique and sparring, so you really get your moneys worth. I only wish I could train here more often because the coaching and energy is great.

From the moment I stepped into McGowan Muay Thai, I felt immediately welcomed. Dan is an outstanding coach, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience from his own professional career. The classes are both exciting and challenging, catering to all levels—from beginners to advanced professional fighters. Best gym around, atmosphere and coaching is unmatched !

My son has attended the kids classes since they started. Daniel and all the coaches are brilliant with the kids, supportive and understanding keeping sessions fun and engaging. They have done wonders for his confidence and discipline. He's built friendships and found positive role models whilst throughly enjoying himself.

My son has been attending Muay Thai classes for nearly a year now. He remains so committed to attend every class he can and enjoys the fitness and discipline of this sport. The coaches meet each of the children at their own individual level and inspire them to the best of their abilities.

Ever since starting training at McGowan Muay Thai my self confidence has sky rocketed. I trained at a diffrent gym before and the vibes weren't as good as in this gym. From the first day that I came into the gym I felt very welcome. This is a great gym with a great atmosphere. Training here has helped me with my mental health and day to day life. I would definitely recommend this gym to everyone.

McGowan Muay Thai is a fantastic place for young people and older people. My son has been training here for nearly 2 years except from sports achievements I have seen a drastic improvement in his mental health and the way he acts on a day to day basis. Everytime I've had the pleasure to be around the people from the gym it has all been good vibes and has made me feel very welcome. With all my heart I recomend the gym for anyone of any age or gender.
