Attention to detail and what the customer wants from Nicki at McCalls, Aberdeen. Spot on advice what was needed for the hire outfit (son and myself) for my daughter's wedding. I was also upgrading my own kilt (slightly smaller than previously) but Nicki gave great advice to alter kilt and was able to direct me to another jacket and waistcoat in McCalls. Excellent news £££ for another wedding in 2026. Thanks for advice to get what I wanted.

Very happy with this company overall. I ordered a doorstop from them, it arrived within 3 days, nicely packaged and the product seems to be high quality despite not being made here in Scotland by the company.

Hired a kilt for my school ceilidh. Thanks to Craig at McCalls Aberdeen for his outstanding service. He was extremely friendly and helpful, guiding me through kilt selection and fitting. Would definitely recommend McCalls, they are amazing!

We hired all the kilts for our wedding from McCalls and the service given throughout was excellent. A couple of our groomsmen live abroad and McCalls guided us through the measuring process with ease and nothing was too much trouble for them. The men all received help on the wedding morning too, to make sure their kilts were on properly as none of them had worn a kilt before. We have hired kilts since and the team in Aberdeen are always so welcoming and on hand to help. 10/10 for service and quality.

Overall happy with the item purchased and with the ease with which it was exchanged for a different size. The web site could give a little more detail. The sporran change I ordered came in two finishes, but the same photo was used for both and neither the order form nor invoice indicated which had been ordered. I received the wrong one, but as I say replacement was straightforward and am happy with the chain.

My first experience of hiring a kilt and attire was made so much easier than I anticipated due in large part to the knowledge and patience of Nikki in that department.
She had the knowledge to translate my Australian size to the necessary Scottish equivalents (regardless of my misgivings) and I ended up with just what I needed.
Indeed the entire staff we dealt with at McCalls were nothing but pleasant and helpful and I would certainly recommend McCalls to anyone looking to hire or buy authentic Scottish kit.
We came away with considerably more than we intended and enjoyed the shopping experience.

The team of 4 staff who served me and my wedding party to fit 8 of us for kilts were excellent. They were friendly, helpful and patient towards all of us, especially the little page boys! Bought a kilt for my stepson. He took his own measurements which mccalls rightly questioned and altered. Living 300+ miles away a visit/fitting wasn’t an option. Polite and professional.
