Professor Mark O’Donnell’s move back to Northern Ireland recognises his continued commitment to high quality, patient focused vascular surgery care complemented by his personalised approach to the full clinical care needs of our local vascular population. With over 20 years clinical experience, Professor O’Donnell delivers expert consultant-led assessment and treatment plans for patients presenting with arterial, venous and lymphatic disease. Clear and concise patient communication remains paramount combined with innovative techniques to deliver the highest quality of clinical care for varicose veins. His one-stop varicose vein clinic in a relaxed atmosphere affords an opportunity to complete a thorough assessment including a lower limb venous duplex ultrasound scan prior to patient centred discussion of available treatment modalities including minimally invasive keyhole radiofrequency ablation and ultrasound guided foam sclerotherapy procedures for all types of varicose veins including thread and spider veins. Professor O’Donnell performs office consultations for all aspects of primary and complex arterial, venous and lymphatic disease at Kingsbridge Private Hospital Belfast; Kingsbridge Private Hospital North West; and the Ulster Independent Clinic. At both Kingsbridge Private Hospital sites, he provides the full remit of varicose vein procedural treatment including endovenous keyhole radiofrequency ablation, ultrasound guided foam sclerotherapy and microsclerotherapy as well as open surgery for complex or recurrent veins including phlebectomy / avulsions, ligation and stripping. Professor O'Donnell's precision-led minimally invasive varicose vein procedures are provided to all patients in Belfast and throughout Northern Ireland ensuring fast recovery permitting patients to feel confident in their legs and walk pain-free again.

Mark is an absolute gentleman. Spoke really clear and definite about the plans for surgery what’s involved in it and broke it into simple language which made it so much easier to understand.

I found Dr. Mark O'Donnell to be very professional and he explained the procedure clearly and made me feel at ease. Any questions I had were answered comprehensively and he had a very friendly manner as well as being very experienced. The professionalism Mark and his team…
The professionalism Mark and his team showed were beyond my expectations. The minute I met Mark he make me feel so comfortable and explained the procedure I was about to have and everything so well. The surgery was quick and effective and the results are great. When I came back up for my post op review 12 weeks later he showed me how successful my surgery was and gave me some tips to look after my legs and veins for the future. I would honestly recommend Mark and his team 100 times over as I feel it was the best experience I’ve had in a hospital setting.

On arrival I was welcomed by Mark, introduced to the nurses and made to feel completely at ease in a down-to-earth but very professional atmosphere.
