M.Manze opened back in 1902, serving up a delightful array of dishes inspired by the Cockney cooking traditions of the East End. It's one of London's few remaining "eel & pie" houses, with a concise but hearty menu of pie or eel with mash and liquor.

Manze's Pies have been my favourite for 70+ years. Living 150 miles away from London, I now get my fix by having them delivered. 60 pies on the last order - should keep my craving satisfied for a while! Orders always arrive well pack and still chilled. Excellent service and good value too!

Prompt delivery
Prompt delivery. Wife really enjoyed it. If I was not a northener, I would have let her kiss me afterwards. Anaphrodisiac but she loved them.

Dangerous & unacceptable.
My wife & myself were at home when your courier left our delivery in the lift.
He made no attempt to deliver to my home address. I would hope you agree with me that this is dangerous and unacceptable.
If my neighbour hadn't delivered my package on behalf of your courier I wouldn't have received it.

Besvarelse fra M.Manze Pie & Mash
Thank you for your feedback. We're very sorry to hear about your experience with the delivery.
We completely agree that leaving an order in a lift without attempting delivery to your door is not acceptable, particularly when someone was at home to receive it. We understand how concerning this must have been, and we're grateful that your neighbour was able to bring the parcel to you.
We take comments like this seriously and would like to investigate the matter with our courier partner. Please could you contact us at hello@manze.co.uk with your order details so we can look into this further and help prevent it from happening again.
Kind regards,
The M.Manze Customer Service Team

Hmmmm
Ok I'm probably going to upset some people here but I'm going to be honest.
Firstly, the service was very good and delivered on time.
Secondly, the products:
Pies - too small, not enough filling and way too salty, try substituting the salt with a little Marmite. the best part was the pastry.
Mash - lumpy unfortunately and again way too salty, had to add some serious butter and milk to bring it up to a smooth consistency.
Liquor - ok but not great, came out like a lump of jelly, had to add nearly a pint of water for a better consistency, also way too salty (what is it with the salt? you don't need all that salt!)
This was an online order so the experience may well be different in shop.
I have had better elsewhere.
Apologies for the upset but if you're not honest then what's the point of a review.

Uopfordret anmeldelse
Besvarelse fra M.Manze Pie & Mash
Thank you for taking the time to leave such a detailed and honest review. We're really pleased to hear your order arrived on time and that you enjoyed the pastry and the service.
We're sorry to learn that the pies, mash and liquor weren't to your taste. Our recipes are very traditional and are made the same way we've served them for generations, but we completely understand that everyone's preferences are different, particularly when it comes to seasoning and texture. We're disappointed that you found the food too salty and that the mash and liquor weren't as expected.
We genuinely appreciate your feedback, as reviews like yours help us understand how customers experience our food at home. Thank you again for giving us a try, and we're sorry that this time we didn't quite hit the mark for you.
