👨👩👦👦Who are we? David Robb MacDonald was born in Dundee, Scotland in 1911 and opened his first shop on Logie Street, Lochee in 1935. In a short time, David realised that there was a thriving demand for meat among the residents of Dundee and decided to move into a bigger shop on the High Street of Lochee. A few years later, and after relocating the business twice, the MacDonald & Son name is still just as popular as it was over 80 years ago.
During this time, David’s son Brian joined the business and learned the trade. Brian took over the business fully at the age of 20 and has built one of Dundee’s oldest and respected family businesses. Over the past 55 years under Brian, the MacDonald & Son name has become renowned for the quality of its meat. To this day it continues to produce the same products that have been enjoyed by generations.
🍖Our Produce We pride ourselves on the quality and consistency of our products. Our aim is to provide our customers with quality sourced meat and to offer great tasting Scottish produce.
All of our red meat is sourced from farms in Aberdeenshire or the Scottish Highlands. The cattle are grass fed all year round and are 30 day aged.
🥩What makes our steaks different? The farmers we buy our cattle from graze the stock in fields next to the North Sea. Salt from the sea gets into the earth and thus into the cattle. This produces a excellent flavour in all our steaks.
🚚How are the boxes delivered? All our customers goods are vac packed and sent in a chilled box. The goods are then sent overnight using DPD which means it arrives to our customers doors cool and fresh.
We send boxes all over the UK and our customers have the convenience of choosing a specific delivery day that suits them best.
On the day of delivery, our customers receive and email and text notification giving them a 1 hour delivery window.

Disappointed
First order, no problems at all. However, 2nd order received 20th March: disappointed that butteries were out of date on 21st and mother's pride loaf date 22nd. Email sent 20th March, no reply.

This was a special birthday gift and my sister was delighted .
This was a special birthday gift for my sister who yearns for Scotland so this was perfect. Ordering was an easy, straight forward process. Great choice of produce and my sister was delighted with everything in the parcel saying it was delicious, with high quality ingredients. I had the opportunity to speak to Mr Macdonald who was really friendly, helpful and courteous answering my query immediately. I would highly recommend this product and the company.

My wonderful 60th birthday present 🎁
My beautiful big sister had the “Scottish box” sent to me for my 60th birthday and it is absolutely gorgeous, all the things that we were brought up on when we were in Scotland for every holiday and in between visits to our Grandma and aunt and as our beautiful Dad was from Glasgow and just everything in the box was wonderful…. Thank you MacDonald and sons for your beautiful products, I will be ordering many more from you xx

The products took me back to my childhood visit to family in Scotland, particularly the battered blackpudding.

Very good quality food
Very good quality food. We had the Scottish box. My husband who is from Glasgow loved it, all his Christmases came at once. Well packaged and delivered on time. Will definitely shop here again.

Absolute Scottish Indulgence.
Just received the Scottish Hamper & the Highland Hamper from Macdonald & Sons and even though I’ve not tried all the food yet I’ve got to say I’m very impressed. I wasn’t expecting much for the price however once I opened the parcel I was pleasantly surprised. I live in England now but the Scotch Pies and the Tablet transported me back to Fife.
Loved the personal “enjoy Dean” handwritten touch on the box. It made me smile.
I’m pretty sure I’ll be making repeat orders in the near future.
