The way they treat the dogs in their charge makes me want to join them! Every dog gets two cuddle sessions and two walks every day. One walk is in Epping Forest and one is the opportunity to run free in their enclosed field. All the time they are working* on the dogs training to prepare them for life in a family home

We had been looking for a rescue dog and tried the usual channels without success as we were not impressed with the lack of information available. I came upon the LU website and was immediately impressed with the comprehensive information for each of the dogs on the site. After the application was accepted and we had a successful home check visit, Tanzy was chosen as a suitable dog for us. We went to meet her and loved her on sight. We spent a few hours with her at the kennels then were delighted that we were able to take her home. We were given lots of information and we knew we would have the support of LU at anytime. It was not easy at first as she had some fear aggression but we gave her as much love, time and patience as she needed. Within a few months she was like a different dog. The joy she has brought to our lives is immense. I cannot recommend LU enough. The team care so much for their charges and their work is impressive.

I cannot say enough good things about Love Underdogs Dog Rescue! They are a remarkable organisation dedicated to supporting Romanian shelters and finding loving homes for dogs in need. Their adoption process is truly unique and wonderful.

Love Underdogs saved my life. We got Ada just before lockdown. Love Underdogs vetted her and knew she was right for us. My wife has dementia, my daughter has Down’s syndrome and the main dog rescue centres all voiced doubt we were suitable for a rescue dog despite my vast experience with dogs, Love Underdogs were different and we are now blessed.

My husband was quite reluctant due to hearing some horror stories about dogs being delivered straight off transport lorries at service stations, arriving in poor health with medical/ behavioural issues.
Love underdogs bring all their dogs to their kennels in the uk where they stay for full assessments and vet checks.
Staff get to know and understand them individually. We had a thorough home check before being invited to the kennels to meet our potential dog .
She came with a lifetime back up from LU, they were on hand with advice to help with the settling in period and have checked in over the years to make sure all is well with her.

We adopted Floss ( was whisper) in 2015 and she is the most incredible dog.

I have adopted from Love Underdogs and fostered for them. What sets them apart from other rescues, in my opinion, is the lifetime support they provide. We had free sessions with a behaviourist when we encountered a problem, despite the fact it was a few years after we adopted. Their matching system is also fantastic, they’ll tell you exactly what you need to know about a dog you’re interested in, warts & all (if there are any warts that is!). So for example, if you want a couch potato, they won’t match you with a dog that’s full of energy! The work they do to improve the lot of strays in Romania with their partners, like the speying & neutering programme is amazing too.

We was looking to bring a new member of the family into our home, we found Love Underdogs via Google for local dog rescues. Best thing we ever did! Other rescued didn’t even reply to our applications but at LU not o my did they come back to us they let us know that the dog we enquired about was best suited for us but they have another two that would be great! Low and behold we met our boy Henry and I couldn’t be happier. He has had his far share of issues that the team have gone above and beyond to help us and him with settling into his new home. Highly recommend getting a dog from here and they are all beautiful souls waiting for their furever homes with some of the loveliest humans possible looks after them in the mean time who are also always on hand for advise and support though these dogs lives.

After looking around for dog rescues for our next dog, we immediately liked the look of Love Underdogs. They looked professional, experienced and knowledgeable, and clearly adored the dogs in their care. We sent in an adoption application in June 2023 and a few days later we had an email from the wonderful Lauren at Love Underdogs asking for more information about our experiences with dogs, our lives, and what we would be able to give to a rescue dog. It is great that they take the time to ensure applicants are right for their dogs. We were then shown Leo's profile and immediately fell in love with him.

Lauren and the Underdogs team were on hand to guide us through the stages of adoption. We visited Leo a couple of times where we were give loads of information about him and his history. From the moment we met him we knew he was our dog. We also saw the work and care the Underdogs team put into him and knew they were trusted.

After adopting Leo, Underdogs have been on hand to guide us through training Leo, to offer advice on situations, and provided us with a detailed behaviour plan to help with our success.

Love Underdogs are passionate about rescue dogs. They know their stuff, are professional and friendly, and put a lot of time and work into every dog in their care. We highly recommend rescuing from Love Underdogs and bringing little Leo home has changed our lives.

The lovely people at LU take on dogs that have been to hell and back and rehabilitate them then find them forever homes. They offer endless help and lifetime aftercare. Can't recommend them highly enough.

Earlier this year I adopted my 4th dog from Love Underdogs. I love that they carry out a really thorough assessment of all their dogs and work hard to help the dogs with their emotional and behavioural issues, often for months, before putting them up for adoption. When you adopt a dog from them you have a very good idea of what to expect because of the work they have already done. I have fallen in love with the independence and intelligence of street dogs and once they trust you the reward is immense. It's also very reassuring to know that not only do LU offer full rescue back up but they also give continued behavioural support for the life of the dog should you need it. And on top of all that they do what all foreign rescue organisations should be doing in my opinion - they have helped fund neutering campaigns, new and improved kennels, veterinary facilities and education in Brasov along with their German partner organisation to help improve the life of the stray dogs. I'm sure I haven't covered all the beneficial things they do but read their website for more! Love Underdogs really are an amazing charity

I adopted Biscoff from Love Underdogs in December 2022 and could not have been more impressed with the experience and the team.

These folk seriously know their stuff - I’ve adopted previously from a major charity and this experience was more thorough and clearly centered on the wellbeing of the dogs.

I had to meet Biscoff a number of times before taking him home on a compulsory trial - another huge green flag - and was amazed with the work they’d consistently put in across the two years Biscoff was with them to set him up for success. They are hugely committed - I can’t imagine many other rescues investing in a traumatised senior stray like Biscoff in the way the team did. Nothing is routine, nothing is perfunctory - they treat these dogs as their own, and it really shows.

Assimilating him into a loving home came with difficulties, but the team was always on hand, never judgmental, and were beyond supportive. Toby has been particularly stellar.

Today Biscoff is more content and confident that I could ever imagine, and I owe it all to Love Underdogs. He’s thrilled to see them all (which is really saying something!) when he goes to see the team. I owe them so much. I recommend them one hundred times over.
