Lovely porcelain but not enough grout
Lovely porcelain, but the free grout and slurry offer only sent about half the grout we needed so an extra cost I wasn't expecting, and my last delivery was a day and a half late which put us back on the job.

Thank you for your feedback, and I’m really pleased to hear you were happy with the porcelain itself.
I’m sorry to hear you ran short on grout and that your last delivery arrived later than expected, I appreciate how frustrating that is when you’re in the middle of a job.
On the grout, our free-grout offer is based on the recommended minimum joint width for porcelain, which is 5mm. From your order quantity, the allowance we sent should have covered the area when installed at that minimum width. I spoke with you today and understand you’re confident the joints were 5mm, so I’d be more than happy to take a look at any photos you can share. That will help us understand what happened and make sure you’re properly supported.
Regarding the delayed delivery, I apologise for the inconvenience caused. I’ve fed this back to our team so we can prevent a repeat.

No guarantees just because Contractors are on London website
We had our patio done last year with London Stone.
The contractor on their website says they offer a 3 year workmanship guarantee but sadly this simply is untrue.
We have asked London Stone about Page Landscapes, who refuse to return over any of our subsidence issues, despite an Expert Witness Report for court proceedings.
London Stone are clear that they will not act in any resolution capacity and yet are happy to keep the contractor on their site, supplying this mis-information.
Very disappointing but hopefully a word of warning for those looking for a contractor.

I had read your disclaimer on your website and so completely understand your position with installers/contractors that advertise on your site.
Of course, we’re very happy with your product.
It just feels important that customers realise where your website may display information that is untrue, there is no better protection or reliability than simply searching on a tradesman website such as Checkatrade. In fact, they have been brilliant in helping us over Page Landscapes.

I would like to start by saying that as we are a product supply company only, there would not be any guarantees offered from us that can be attributed to the installation of the goods purchased from London Stone.
Your landscaper, Page Landscapes, have no affiliation with London Stone other than that they buy our products. We are, and have always been, a supply only company and we do not recommend or promote any landscapers to install those products, this is due to the fact that we have no way of auditing or vetting any of the trade companies that buy from us.
If you came across Page Landscapes via our “Find a landscaper” section of our website, it does clearly state on that page the following – “London Stone takes no responsibility or liability for work carried out by contractors or designers who are registered for this scheme. We would always advise that you seek more than one quotation before entering into a contract with a contractor or designer and we would also strongly recommend seeking references and if possible viewing a designer/contractor's previous work. The “Find a landscaper” section of our website is to help customers find the closest landscapers, garden designers and garden maintenance companies to their address, this would provide information such as the contact details and materials experience for those companies to help the customer make an informed decision from contacting those companies themselves.
We would always be here to help our customers with any issues or advice needed in relation to an issue with our products but when it is related to questions raised about the installation, this is when London Stone would not be able to become involved on specific site advice. Any information we give in regards to installation is based on the British Standards and best practice in relation to our products and does not include information regarding specific site conditions (as we do not offer installation these would be unknown to us).
You have however, already involved an expert witness which is what we would also recommend to do if you came to us for any advice on this matter.

Great product, great communication. Would definitely recommend and use again.
North London showroom is great for showcasing the range of products , and the staff are really helpful, giving guidance on stock availability, delivery etc. Booking delivery was easy and there was plenty of flexibility around dates. We got text notification of a 1 hr delivery slot and the delivery arrived as scheduled with no breakage. Finally, the product is great! After a long stressful building project it was a delight to do business with London Stone.

An ode to Jamie Norris. …
I’ve been a regular customer of London stone for probably approaching 10 years. This is where everyone now thinks…. What’s gone wrong!!! Well absolutely nothing. After today I feel the need to not only praise London stone for their superb range of stone and great service but I have to single out a certain person. Mr Jamie Norris.
Today he met me on site to finalise a large complex job we have been pricing for a few weeks now. It involves 180 linear metres of 30mm bullnose steps around 200m2 of limestone ,porcelain on pedestals on the balcony that’s just part one. Jamie took time out to meet me on my second visit to measure up along side me and look at any possible curve balls.
He and his team then sent the costings over and beat another nationwide company by 25%. This mainly was due to Jamie recommending we use their off the shelf 900x500 30mm bullnose slabs hence saving a huge amount on fabrication. We have 6 metre half circular feature with 6 steps which need to made. Again Jamie assessed the proposed feature and taken the pressure off me by getting the fabrication/ templating team to work out the exact dimensions curvatures etc.
Today again with his nothing is ever a problem Rich attitude he brought over a sample Dijon 900x600mm slab as well as a 900x500mm 30mm bullnose step. We met the client and the owner of the building company which have already created a beautiful house and talked though all the different aspects of the project. His relaxed honest approach to talking to the client and house builder is a joy to be a part of. His passion and knowledge and general lovely demeanour is just a breath of fresh air in a world where these days everyone just wants a hard sell. The man is an absolute credit to London stone and I really hope he’s appreciated by them as much as me.
To round the story up with all the costings submitted and a superb meeting the client has full confidence and accepted our quotation within 2 hours of our meeting
So Jamie a huge thank you from us at R J Francis Landscapes Id love to know how many thousands of metres we’ve laid of you’re products but you’ve only ever been my key man and here’s to many many thousands more.
Massive thanks to London stone and mainly Jamie for his consistent hard work.
