As always the staff put me at ease and are always friendly. It was good to see Elena on reception, today my hygienist appointment was with Denise followed by my first dental appointment with Paul who has taken over patients from John. I look forward to a hassle free transition & wish John all the best for the future. I would highly recommend this dental practice

Great service as usual, from the receptionist to the dentists.

Fiona Girasoli and her dream team deal nurse are brilliant. I have had a history of bad experiences with dentists and Fiona has changed my view , she makes me feel relaxed and explains what she is going to do. I am not the easiest of patients but Fiona treats me with a smile and reassurance.

The experience and the treatment could have not been better.

Denise is a very good Hygienist. She is very thorough but gentle. She has a lovely personality which helps you to relax. The dental nurse was also very pleasant and efficient. Top marks.

Unfortunately I don’t recommend.

I attended here for two private emergency appointments with the aim to signing up full time at the practice for restorative dentistry which they said wasn’t a problem. The surgery was clean and tidy and the reception staff welcoming. I was asked to fill out my medical information and pointed towards an iPad on the front desk sitting in a stand. This was a bit fiddly as it couldn’t be removed from the stand and I wasn’t overly keen on typing out private medical info while people who would easily be able to see queued behind me. What would be better is maybe being sent an email to do this before the appointment itself, or just doing it via pen and paper. Toilets are clean and a decent size however the practice was not wheelchair friendly for those who would need it to be on my particular visits. Not an issue for me but something others may need to be aware of.

The first time the dentist who saw me (I didn’t get his name) was kind and very helpful and he assured me that I’d be able to sign up to be a patient. He was able to examine me, prescribe me antibiotics that were safe and let me know what needed to happen to my tooth. The antibiotics cleared up the infection until I could book root canal work.

My second appointment (also private) was not as good nor did I feel listened to. I had another tooth infection elsewhere and a different dentist (Paul) who prescribed me a different type of antibiotic. This particular antibiotic doesn’t work that well for me due to being over prescribed them when I was younger and developing resistance. I explained this and was told as it’s a first line antibiotic he had to prescribe it. I did not feel listened to and it was almost as if he wanted to get me out of the chair asap. I appreciate it was an emergency appointment but I felt very rushed with no reassurance.

Later on when ringing to sign up, I was told that they couldn’t take me on due to not being able to offer restorative dentistry after all. Apparantly there is a long wait of several weeks even for private patients to get appointments and so it’s not worth signing up unless you need very minimal work done. Funnily enough they told me the exact opposite when paying for emergency treatment. I queried the name of the first dentist and was told that he didn’t have the right to tell me I could be a patient as he only works at the practice one or two days a week.

So yeah, it’s a bit of a shambles unfortunately and I have gone elsewhere since.

Two stars, and they are purely for the first dentist.

Edit: One thing that has also bothered me since leaving this review is that the staff at LDP have tried to get me to remove the second dentist’s name from the review twice. This is despite them having no issues with the other reviews mentioning names on here- funnily enough all positive ones. I feel like it’s important to be totally honest in a review and the name of the dentist isn’t a secret- it’s on their website and public social media!

Edit: I have just seen the response that I’ve edited this review. This is correct. Once was to remove the dentists surname and add the above edit. The other time was to correct the date of my visit and spelling. RE the disabled entry, on my visit it was made clear a temp entrance was being used while building work was being done on the other. There was a very steep step up to the door, and the door was too narrow for a wheelchair. No ramp was visible. If the practice has upgraded since that is great. Regards.

Just had a root treatment today by Paul, excellent dentist, very careful and attentive. All in all, a very good experience. Paul took the time to explain all possible scenarios regarding my treatment and then gave me the choice. I would highly recommend Paul to anyone. Thanks LDC.

I broke a tooth and was able to quickly get an appointment where the tooth was fixed. I am a nervous patient at the dentist and felt very quickly comfortable and safe. Jane is lovely and immediately makes you feel at ease. I left feeling very happy to have had my tooth fixed with absolutely not one bit of pain involved. Livingston Dental Care is the best dental practice I have ever used.

I felt at ease and any questions I had were answered fully. No complaints at all.

Had a great appointment with my dentist. It was quick and simple. The staff were friendly, service - fantastic. I joined recently because my partner recommended this practice to me and I would equally recommend it myself to anyone else looking. 5 out of 5 stars :)

Absolutely superb dental surgery, Elaine on reception always happy to help. Fiona has supported me through procedures which were complicated due to medication I have to take. I've always been seen quickly and nothing is too much trouble, lovely friendly, caring dentist. Thoroughly recommend and appreciate you all.

Went for my 6 month dental check up on 12 th February.
Was welcomed by the reception staff and told that my appointment would be on time.
Jane came out after a few minutes and took me to the dental room.
We had a brief chat and then she asked how things had been over the last six months and then checked that I was still using the same types of toothpaste and how many times I was brushing and flossing.
I told her that I got a new water pick for Christmas and we chatted about their use and how beneficial they are.
She then checked all around my mouth and gums and I’m pleased that I got the all clear for the next six months.
Jane is a really friendly and professional dentist and I actually look forward to seeing her.
I highly recommend this dental practice.

Dr John and his team are excellent in every way. Not only is he an excellent surgeon, he has given me various options to consider before we started the procedure for a dental implant. I had my 1st procedure yesterday, and I am thankful that I am in his good hands. I highly recommend Livingston Dental Care. 😷💊🙏🏻

I have been at this practice for over 35 years . Stayed here even after 2 house moves .The lovely Jane is my dentist. Im a very nervous patient 😬 and would highly recommend her .She takes time to reassure you and to explain what she is doing . The whole team are friendly, reassuring and professional . Top class dentist ,So worth travelling to .
