Purchased a 2015 ES350 from Lexus downtown Chicago thankfully cash back in 2016 and also paid well over 3k more to secure the warranty until 2021 from damage . I am sure others are experiencing this issue: I brought my car in because I was hearing a noise by the tire and wanted them to inspect it . I explained to the service advisor when I sat down that there should be no diagnostic fee of $154.00 because I have a extended warranty. He repeated that the fee and I asked him "if you are communicating the fee to me please substantiate this by providing a copy of the extended warranty with the clause that states you can charge me for it . He then went and for the supervisor Let's say "Joe" and I engaged in conversation with Joe the same issue stating you can't charge a diagnostic fee for a car in warranty. He stated the contract stated you can! I asked that he go and review the contract and provide me the clause that he said was in the contract which would make his statement enforceable . He stated he would go to the finance manager and bring the contract back for my review. He left and lo and behold came back stating that it is NOT in the contract but it is this dealerships policies and procedures which makes consumers that enter into a extended warranty contract breached. I am sure that I am not the only one who has experienced this with dealerships and the only way to enforce contracts is through our trusted legal system . Reply if you have had this happen at this dealership or any dealership and this can become something we can put on our legal records and stop consumer fraud. Caveat emptor at Lexus of Orland let the buyer beware !! They will risk reputation and money for a small profit so imagine the integrity of the car salesmen . We need to come together to stop consumer fraud as they are selling warranties and making you pay all over again !
