Very expensive and unhelpful
I visited Eaton Glass on the morning of 6 June to supply a piece of 4mm glass measuring approximately 3ft x 2ft to be cut to shape. Before attending, I was advised by phone that this could be done.
However, when I arrived and mentioned that I also needed the edges smoothed, I was told this could not be done because the person present could not operate the machine. I then asked whether just one edge could be smoothed manually with a sanding block, but this was also refused.
I was quoted £60 for the glass cutting, plus an additional £10 for edge smoothing. I subsequently went to Petts Wood Glass, where the entire job was completed for £20.
When I queried the price, I was told it was because the glass had to be cut from a particular sheet size, but this explanation did not seem reasonable given the substantial difference in cost elsewhere.
Based on my experience, I found the service unhelpful, the attitude dismissive, and the pricing difficult to justify. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this company.
