Be very careful when engaging with Lawfecta. I retained a paralegal that had some experience in California probate & trust litigation. She was the only candidate that had the requisite skills. She advised me that Lawfecta required additional funds to be deposited to complete the project. I immediately deposited funds and then she became ill and was unable to complete the task. There were NO other candidates qualified to perform this work so I kindly requested a refund. Lawfecta refused and referred me to their contract. Well, I have been practicing 20+ years and quite familiar with contract law. Lawfecta is completely inflexible given that they have now lost a client over $250.00 which they obviously could not absorb.

Lawfecta's reliance on language in their agreement is actually amusing given that it is a classic adhesion contract and leaves the contracting attorney with no option other than using another team member EVEN IF THERE IS NO QUALIFIED CANDIDATE TO PERFORM THE REQUIRED SERVICES.
Lawfecta reached out to me via email regarding the dispute and I called them multiple times which went directly to voicemail. Lawfecta falsely asserted in their response that they advised me that they incurred fees/costs to monitor my account and other activities of which they DESERVED to be compensated so the $250 would not be refunded.

Mr. Kudler advised us he would be posting this review after we advised him that we would be following the Client Agreement he signed. Legal professionals, including us, should be held to a higher standard when it comes to abiding by contracts as we are the individuals who understand legalese and what we are entering into.
Mr. Kudler engaged a paralegal who after time fell deeply ill and was unable to return to work. As human beings and employees, circumstances can change (sickness, injury, death in the family, family emergency, etc.); things of this nature can come up that can impact our work and we need to understand, especially when running a business and getting into contracts, that these types of situations can occur.
Our agreement states in part: "If selected Team Member becomes unavailable for any reason or Client is dissatisfied with the services received from selected Team Member, the Company reserves the right to provide the Client with another Team Member(s) to assist Client and any remaining Retainer funds will be used by the Team Member until this Agreement has been satisfied or Terminated."
Our Team immediately reached out to the client advising of the situation on 11/30/21 and provided options to transfer to a new Team Member that could step in and assist the client. Client failed to respond so my team reached out again via email on 12/08/21, 12/16/21 12/21/21, and 01/06/22 with options for the client which he failed to respond to. The client refused to respond to our requests to allow us to provide alternate Team Members.
On 01/07/22 we emailed client and advised that we attempted to reach him multiple times and his retainer was set to expire since we provide a 60-day use for each retainer (most virtual assistant companies allow only 7-30 days). Client then engaged us and refused to work with us to find a solution of which we were happy to work towards. We advised we had incurred fees/costs to monitor his account, follow up with him numerous times and other activities of which we deserved to be compensated, thus we advised we would be holding him to the terms of the agreement to which he was unhappy.
We pride ourselves on being an ethical company and have always worked with our clients to find agreeable resolutions, however, we also believe in being fair to our team thus we made the executive decision to not remit the refund in alignment with our agreement so we can be fairly compensated for the time we spent.
I’ve had a great experience with Lawfecta. The paralegal is efficient and responsive. I will continue to utilize this service.
