Got scammed by them week before Christmas never noticed till yesterday, they had billed me two weeks totalling 9 pound, called o2 who are aware of them put block on phone and refunded bill, but still frightening to think by just browsing normal websites that these criminals are so Internet fraud advanced that they have now found new way to steal money from people

Lasevia Ltd. Is a huge scam!

I was registered without my consent to their services. I did not get any message nothing and I found out after 8 weeks about their charges. I spent 2 days trying to understand what is happening and where are these charges from. Finally with the help of O2 team I manager to get a phone number and called Lasevia ltd. to stop the charges. I called Lasevia Ltd. And I was told I will be called back by somebody from financial department. I waited 2 days nothing. After I called them the second time and had to wait one more day I was called by a representative who dismissed and chance of refund and in a rude way hung up the phone. I am very dissapointed that regulators still allow such a scam.

A scam as others have pointed out

A scam as others have pointed out. O2 were not very helpful, they passed me onto a 'messaging' service acting on behalf of Lasevia who will phone me back in 2 days to let me know about my refund. Great, I now will be called up by known criminals to discuss a refund.
Update - after a second call to O2, Lasevia are barred and I have received a full refund from O2, most helpful in the end. How can Lasevia get away with it?

I did not see any pop ups nor did I authorise anything but woke up to a text at 6.44am saying i had subscribed at £4.50 per week. I had not!!! They had taken the money immediately. My netwok Tesco I spoke to them on live chat they already had a scriped prepared to paste to me so I know they must have this problem a lot. They put the safety buffer on my monthly plan to 0.00£ and put a block on premium texts and said this should stop it but I am still fighting for my money back. This company Lasevia Books4u is a scam i am reporting them to action fraud.

SCAMMERS!!!

Was searching on the web yesterday and this website books4you automatically pops up then I receive a text saying I have subscribed when I had not. Phoned O2 this morning and said I could contact the company to reclaim my money and they could not do it for me. So speaking to the O2 lady I had mentioned I read a lot of reviews on here saying that O2 had refunded people who had got scammed of this £4.50. The cheeky bastardos had already taken it. Can’t believe they can just get your number and take money from you like that. The lady at O2 said she would send £4.50 to my account as a good will gesture and put a bat on my account from them trying to take money again. I will be checking to see if the money has actually gone on my account and if I have had it refunded. I would advise you not to ignore it and text STOP to the number they text you from. I would also advise you to get straight in to your mobile provider and get them to bar any premium numbers and check your account at the end of the month to make sure no scam money has been taken!!

02 extremely helpful.

Lasevia text me yesterday to say thanks for subscribing to books4you.??? I deleted both texts as I hadn't subscribed. I noticed my bill had an extra charge of £4.50 today. Cheeky b******s ...as I didn't have the short number to text stop I was stuck... A few posts have said 02 were no help.... I'd like to say that's not true. I phoned 02 and they sent me the short code and told me the charges will be refunded.. they couldn't have been more helpful. 👍

Whilst on Skysports on my mobile a pop up appeared for Listen2books, immediately closed the window and within minutes receieved a text saying I was now subscribed to their service at £4:50 a week. The company Lasevia is run and owned by criminals and they need to be brought to justice.

O2 are about as useful as a chocolate teapot and didn't see any problem as Lasevia are a registered company and that automatically makes them legitimate, honest and ethical..in their eyes!

I hope Karma catches up with the owners and associates of Lasevia. There's definitely a GDPR breach at work with this company, by holding information (mobile numbers) about us without our consent is against the law!

Dishonest scam company that claims i signed up to a £4.50 per week books4You subscription. I categorically did not. Now face a battle to rectify, as these fraudsters are all over the internet as having this as a basic modus operandi. I did not click any link or agree to any payment, this happened when my big fingers misspelt eBay on my mobile. Things i have learnt: don't have auto top up or a safety buffer on your bill because then they cannot steal what you do not have ( or appear to have). call your phone provider to stop all Pay4It payments moving forward.. Complain to regulator the PSA even if you get a refund.. Don't turn a blind eye as the £4.50s per week quickly add up. Apparently also this can only be done via 4g. The advice is also to text back STOP ALL to the short code but I am nervous to do this in case they charge me a fortune. Ridiculous that this cannot be legislated against and enforced in this day and age. Disgraceful - i hope their mothers are proud of them - poor excuse for humans.

Robbing Bar Stewards

Robbing bar stewards. To quote a well known film...
"If you are looking for money for a fake text service, I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills, skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you give me my £4.50 back now, that'll be the end of it.

Fair play to my phone provider though they refunded me a fiver.

I received a text message stating hat I had subscribed to a books4u service at £4.50 per week. I hadn’t signed up for anything.

My phone provider O2 would not help via webchat. They suggested that I contact the person I had made a purchase with. They also informed me that lasevia was one of their trusted sites. They advised me to ring a messaging service, which I had already done three weeks earlier along with text stop, which I had also done. I informed that that the messenger service had take a message but that no one had called me back. I ask to report it to The o2 fraud department and they said that o2 did not have a fraud department. I phoned back the messenger service who refused to give any contact details for lasevia, but when pushed advised me that they had had calls complaining that lasevia were robbers. After send lasevia many emails I recieved a call back and the male said I had ordered a product. I asked whatvthe product was. They were unable to tell me. They then said I had ordered an app. I said what app. They could not tell me. When trhreatened with contacting the police the man offered a refund and asked for my bank details. I obviously did not give them. He was calling from Cyprus. He then said he could make a refund to PayPal.
I am shocked that o2 webchat would not help.
I have asked for a block to be put on my phone to stop this happening again.
I have reported the company to cyber crime police. I would urge people to do the same. This must not be allowed to happen.

Robbed!

I've been had the same way as others! No idea what I did to attract Lasevia's attention but it coincided with me using the web on my phone when on holiday in Cyprus, though I have no idea if this is significant.
Lasevia is a company based in Cyprus which appears to rely upon a 3rd party Call Centre in the UK to take all their calls and pass requests on by email to Lasevia. The call centre reports that Lasevia have no inbound lines so it is impossible to speak with the company itself.
It is very unnerving being robbed by a company in another jurisdiction, albeit for a small sum of money. Somehow they grabbed and used my mobile number without consent. If anybody has any advice on how to obtain some leverage on them, perhaps using Cyprus' membership of the EU, would be very helpful.
[edit] I received a phone call back today from, I presume Lasevia, and they repaid the £9. I opted for this to be paid into my paypal because I wasn't giving them my bank details. They appear to have precise details of every text message sent and advised that PayForIt take the money first then you get the Lasevia login messages. So it would seem that PayForIt initiate the scam though Lasevia are fully aware of the approach.

Be warned this is a scam

Be warned, this a scam company and should be investigated!

As per all of the other reviews, I too was opted into a £4.50 per week book subscription simply by looking at Facebook and a pop up appeared and seemingly opted me into this dodgy service.

I hope the ICO investigates and shuts these crooks down. A google search shows just how many people have fallen foul to this scam.

Criminals

Like most of you here, I hadn't heard of Lasevia until they signed my 11 year old son up to a £4.50 a week recurring service billed to his phone - Books4You.

He didn't consent to this. At worst, he clicked to dismiss a spam popup in some game app or site he was on. Dismissing a pop-up is not anything like active consent as we'd know it in any other environment. Shocking. It galled me further to have to spend more money to text them to stop it. All on top of the hassle of waiting in a long O2 phone queue to make sure none of this ever happened again.

This type of "business practice" is at best unethical and at worst criminally motivated. It should be illegal to do this.

Charged me money for a service they signed me up to, without my active consent! When requesting a refund, they replied promptly, but only refunded part of the sum. They never explained to me how their sign-up system works, in order for me to understand what to do differently next time. I would call this fraud.. if there is any legal backing to companies operating like this in times of GDPR regulations, I would like to know!

This is a scam

This is a scam. I noticed by chance my mobile phone bill had gone up, on looking further I noticed it was a company called Lasevia taking £4.50 per week for a subscription I never subscribed to.

o2 gave me the details of who to contact to cancel the subscription and to attempt to get a refund, however I think they should be doing a lot more - they know this is a scam and should block it before it happens.
