I ordered what I thought was the correct size but it wasn't. Krakatoa sent me the correct size - with no charge. My husband loves these.

Horrible pouch. The pocket where the balls are supposed to fit must be for a child. Definitely not for a grown man. They feel nice and fit well EXCEPT FOR BALL POCKET. Do NOT buy these. Absolute waste of my money!

Bought 3 pairs of their underwear and while the appear soft it all stops there and I mean stops.
Went 100% off their sizing suggesting which is range orientated and ended up with an xl. For a reference I am 6ft1 195 pounds and a 33 inseam athletic build.
Product shows up and I try them on…..
Toooooooo small in the leg and tight in the waist. I thought hmmm try and other pair and the same issue.
I contact customer service who sends me this. We suggest you take your index finger and circle your thigh to stretch out the leg band, there was no reference to the waist.
As a time line this was all within the last 30 days.
I don’t know what I was thinking but I did the index finger thing and nothing changed. So now I have 3 pairs of $100 underwear that may as well use as a dust cloth.
Company response is the following, we are you for your measurements, answer they were given.
Did you try and stretch them….. answer yes, it did not work.
Well we can not have you return them and we feel you are being difficult with your responses to us.
So, in my experience I am suggesting purchases do the following.
Don’t waste your money, their are plenty of premium underwear companies out their that care about their customers and make products that will fit.
And as an update the company should ask themselves this if your suggestive measuring system was so great why did you just change it a week ago!!!
Your customer service people do a great job of making the customer feel they are wrong! Booooooo to Krakatoa next time I’m down in New Zealand I’m sending these to that volcano to Burn.

Tried a pair of the Anti-Gravity Trunks in 1.5". The waist band is very comfortable and does NOT roll over.

I wear 36 pants and I bought the Large which is supposed to do 36-38 and mine are a micro bit big. In my opinion the sizing is dead on what they say.

Material is super soft and they feel firm without being tight whatsoever. I love them and turned right around and orderd 4 more pair. Buy 3 get 1 free.

This companies customer service is actually the worst I’ve ever received. I’m sure the owner Jon is going to be triggered by this review but you should know the type of people you’re buying from. I received an automated email asking why I hadn’t bought from them, clearly a ploy to try and get me to buy. I explained my coupon code never worked and I was not willing to pay full price. $34 for a single pair of underwear is insane. There’s nothing special about this underwear. The reply I got from the owner Jon was egregious, he began to attack me, politely telling me I was dumb, because the code did not work and was extremely upset about me telling them their underwear is too expensive. He also told me if I wasn’t willing to pay full price then I shouldn’t buy. I said okay great I’ll try another brand. He then got even more angered and hostile in his emails, attacking me again and basically blowing up in the email. I’m glad I didn’t buy from them. I’ll never buy from someone like that. Thank you for showing me who you are Jon.

I would avoid. Sizing guide is inaccurate, better size up. Too much compression up front for me plus an uncomfortable seam across the back. Don't choose the gift card if you return, they won't refund the gift card. Customer service was terrible and they took a rude and defensive tone from the beginning.

I came to trustpilot looking for reviews on some other online brands of underwear and was surprised to see how low Krakatoa was rated. I have purchased probablly 15 pairs of underwear from them over several years and have found their products to be of good quality, that lasts through multiple washings, and the owner seems to be very personally involved in the business, so I have a hard time believing the claims of "non-existent customer service" that people seem to be offering.

These might be the worst Boxers I have ever tried. Krakatoa must mean see my Crack- a - ton- a!!
They don't stay up! The material is soft but the pouch sticks out like some weird sock puppet. I'm constantly having to keep pulling them up as the day goes. They don't stay snug. The customer service is even worse! Try SAXX you will thank me later!

I ordered a size M anti-gravity briefs. They are so tight that it squeezes everything together. I thought this was supposed to free them up. It is the exact opposite. The legs openings are also too small and binding. Their sizing chart is completely wrong. Every pair of pants in my closet is a 34. Per their chart M is supposed to be 34-37. I would say M is more like a 30-32. What is even better is they don't take returns. Do not buy!

I recently purchased a set of purple Krakatoa underwear and inserted it into a wash of other nylon aricles and one cotton set of briefs and everything came out different colors including other articles. I attributed it to the Krakatoa underwear since it had never been washed. I complained and they insisted that nylon doesn't bleed. That's true but the other articles were worn and washed several times and never bled. I concluded it must be Krakatoa but they insist not.They won't refund my money nor will they take the underwear back. Not friendly. Beware of bleeding!

I bought 4 pair and have stopped wearing any other brand. Ordering more now. Delivery, communication, and product all excellent!

Good, quick delivery. First time buyer so the briefs were half price.
Very soft fabric. The problem is the was too big and not too elastic. The large is 38-40, which is exactly me, up the briefs slide down due to the large waist.

Fit was perfect everywhere else.

Poor quality material (wears out very fast). Poor sizing (far too small). Extremely poor customer service....

Sizing is WAY off. They state on their website that a size M is supposed to be 34" - 37". I wear a 36" waist size in everything I own and these briefs are no where near 34" - 37". Wen I sent a message about getting a replacement in the correct size I was greeted with extremely rude customer service. He actually told me I was wrong and that their sizing was correct. Anyway they gave me store credit for the introductory brief, but to order the next size up I had to pay full price plus another $5 for shipping. I would be out $24.50 just for my half price introductory brief. What a scam they have running there. I think they intentionally put the wrong size on their products so that you will have to reorder the correct size at a higher price.

Ordered the products and way to small, as directed on the website returned the unborn0 shorts asking for refund. It's been 3 weeks and several phone calls to the business with NO replies. Next stop is BBB & Atornney General Office.

Update...amazingly approximately 90 minutes after this review was published I recieved personal phone call from the owner stating that the returned product was never received. After a few minutes of discussion he agreed to refund my purchase that "should" show up on my CC account w/in a few days. We'll see how that pans out.

Ordered the trial pair. Great fit, so I ordered a pack of 3. On the third wear of one of the three the material ripped and left a 3" hole. I contacted customer service and the rep said that he would "do me a solid" and add a free pair the next time I ordered. I just wanted a replacement for a flawed product without having to pay $30+. Jon, the owner stepped in and implied that I was lying about how the damage happened.

Bottom line, the product was faulty, I don't trust the durability, and the owner questioned my honesty. I'll be looking elsewhere for good underwear.

UPDATE: Jon replied, saying that my bad experience was my own fault. Amazing hubris from a proprietor of clothing that rips after a few uses.

Caveat Emptor

At age 72, I can say that this is the most comfortable underwear I ever wore. The horizontal fly is exceptional. All jeans have a very short zipper in relation to dress trousers. I used to have to pull my jeans downwards and pull my underwear downwards just to get the fellow out to pee. The Pinatubo briefs solved that completely. Easy out and easy back in. Just amazing. After using my first six for a couple months, I ordered 12 more. The pouch is sized right for my manhood, which is average to a little above average size. Fantastic!

Absolutely my favorite underwear! I can’t wait for future colors!

Coming from an underwear snob, these are one of the best out there, I have tried many brands and styles and the styles from Krakatoa fit perfectly and consistent. A waistband that not only fits, but is comfortable. A pouch that doesn't bunch up and cause discomfort and actually fits. All styles I have are great and worn regularly. Just wish the price was lower, or more frequent sales, but the same is true for many quality brands.

These products are very well made. Very soft fabric which is very durable.
The pouch design makes the cut.
I plan to purchase more in the future.
These are not your grandad's or dad's undies...
True to size and not lose where it counts for support.
