I booked a place on the Irl v Italy…
I booked a place on the Irl v Italy 6Nations Tour to Rome with Killester Travel for Feb 2027. Exactly one week after I booked I realised I would be unable to travel. So I emailed Killester Travel and sought a refund. I heard nothing and left it a few days and then emailed them again. Bearing in mind that I had not even received a formal invoice from them for the booking, I first contacted them 1 week after the date of making the booking, and the event was 10 months away, I was floored to be told they could not give me a refund under their T&C's. Sure they have a no refund policy in their T&C's but they could easily resell my room this far in advance and give me a refund of my deposit. They offered a name change to another person in my group, but everybody else has already booked with them. Then they offered me a voucher to use against a future tour - having been treated like this would I really want to use them again? I appreciate they cannot give refunds to everyone but given the quick notice I gave them and how far in the future the event is, I think it is totally reasonable to expect a refund. Extremely poor customer service, in my opinion. I will never use them again and would advise others from using them too with this level of customer service. On the flipside I used Rugby Travel Ireland for a tour last year to Chicago, and they could not have been more flexible and helpful. I know who I will be using for Rugby Tours in future. Trustpilot ratings confirm my view.
