I've used KendoStar in the past for purchasing Kendo equipment, so I am familiar with the purchase process, standard of advice, and quality of goods, so I was happy to use them again.

I was looking to buy a new bogu because I wanted something with a greater level of protection. After a considerable number of questions, I opted for the "Halo" custom-made protective bogu. It was a bonus that KendoStar were offering a 15% Black Friday Discount on bogu.

I asked if it was possible to make some modifications to the standard package, and Andy was able to quote me a base price and we worked from there. More questions and sizing was finalised. The dou mune was also tweaked in terms of stitch colour, and dodai, which took a LOT of um-ing and ah-ing on my part. Andy was good enough to pint out that the complexity of the stitch colours I wanted might be lost in translation, because there are two language barriers, so I simplified the stitching a bit.

Because the bogu is non-standard, Andy was able to send me an invoice with a link allowing me to pay...and I got the points...which means they can be used towards MORE KendoStar purchases!

The bogu has now been ordered and should arrive around the end of March, although I completely understand that this can vary a bit. The most important thing for me is that it is done right, and Andy Fisher has done everything he can to make sure that his suppliers provide me with a product that I will be happy with when it arrives.

Back next March/April to review the bogu!

I was afraid about the size of Kote/men. It fits perfect.

I loved the material and I bought myself the starter pack because I've always wanted to do Kendo but don't know where to start, lo and behold I found Kendostar and bought their essentials pack and it came very quickly in a reasonable manner.

I'm definitely going to buy more gear from them again.

The products are high quality and shipping is well protected and fast. The men pad, kote guard, and antibacterial gloves will come in handy for supporting practice.
