From the start, I've picked up plenty of ideas and tips for me to use in my kitchen.

As a family we have participated in around 20 online Diaspo lessons. It is one of the things we really look forward to in the day, and we really miss it when we are not participating in one. We had got in the habit of not cooking as much as we should and this has helped us focus on a much more mindful approach to food, family and cooking. The classes are very engaging, accessible to all levels of cooks and delivered with enthusiasm by teachers with a clear love for food. It is nice to hear a little background on the teacher and the dish and then be able to be guided through a wonderfully tasty dish in a way that feels like the teacher is with you in your kitchen. The clarity of instruction is fist rate and the end result is a delicious meal, cooked in no longer than it takes to prepare a dull run of the mill meal. Many of the lessons require few ingredients and yet they become transformed with the little tricks you pick up, making them not only delicious but also most often very economical. We also very much enjoy that it is a shared experience and that we always feel we learn a few little gems from the teachers who have been doing it their way for years and are keen to share their wisdom. Diaspo has been a wonderfully enriching experience for us and one that we will continue to value as a family moving forward.

It's great in all ways the only reason that I am taking a star down is because there was no access to a recipe afterwards and I at the moment of cooking there is no way of taking notes. The session was recorded so we could've got that if no instructions provided maybe?

Clear instructions, positive fun hosts, can check your progress along the way, as well as learn about their culture.

You can tell how passionate all the chefs are at what they do and about sharing their stories and culture. An amazing experience!

I have watched some of the early online Diaspo cooking demos and found them very informative and accessible - particularly the Indian cuisine. The interactive nature of the demos is an added bonus. I thoroughly recommend Diaspo!

Learning to cook with Diaspo is always a great experience - especially in these socially isolated times. The teachers are very interactive and check on how everyone in the class is getting on, and just lovely people to spend an evening with talking about food. I never expected that the lockdown would turn out to be my entry into authentic South Asian cuisine but am grateful it has. Highly recommend this very well-run service!

I attended a Diaspo class with my girlfriend and thoroughly enjoyed it. At first I thought we were just going to treat ourselves to one of our favourite meals, but our great instructor taught us some amazing twists. Not only did we make a great meal, we also learnt about the history of the dish and more about our instructor’s heritage. The class fun and informative and will definitely be doing again.

Cooking is like a therapy for me and it is something that I really love to do. It was so easy to navigate Diaspo website when booking the session and having the list of ingredients emailed to me before the session, even as I was just watching the session was great. I think it is privilege to have the older generation passing down their skills, knowledge and heritage to the younger generation. This means that the younger generation can learn and enjoy the cooking experiences and the traditional dishes is passed down and not forgotten.
I love the fact that the traditional dish was the main focus of the conversation and the story is weaved in round the heritage, the cooking of the dish bringing family and friends together. The history and description of Martinique with the beach and colours was just great. The opportunities to ask questions, not just relating to the cooking, but around the teacher’s culture and what’s being said brings a very relaxed social interaction throughout session. Although I am from the Caribbean, I had very little knowledge of Martinique culture.
The pace of the teaching was important to me as I am a bit slower in processing information and the pace I felt was just right and teacher checking in to see where everyone is up to and willing to waiting for others was good. I did not get the impression that participants were feeling rushed.
I usually prefer face to face but the session works really well on the video conferencing site. I was very comfortable with this.
Thanks you Diaspo and I will be cooking this dish and I am looking forward to booking another session in the near future.

Diaspo is a great idea, perfect for these times!

Having taken one of these classes, the charisma of the instructors and the innovative format really stand out. It's perfect for those who want to try a new style of cooking or even connect with their roots.

Diaspo is a great way in teaching cooking online to students especially young generation where they feel stressed cause the Convid 19 issue. Following the instructions of the teachers,student's they receive passion and warmth during the lesson and helps them achieve a new way To healthy and busy. Teachers transmit to students every particular food technics online. I’m very proud for Diaspo hoping them to continue for the future.

I had a really enjoyable experience using Diaspo. It was a really enjoyable 45 minutes - learnt a new recipe and felt like I was connected with both the chef and the other people cooking (a friend of mine also joined the event virtually - we then had virtual dinner together afterwards which was a nice touch).

Experience would have been better if I had have made sure I had all of the ingredients ready, out of the fridge and laid out at the start-time, rather than scrambling around to find them.

Highly recommend, will do again :)

I used to hate cooking but not anymore! Cooking along is so much fun and learning about the chef's traditions makes it even more enjoyable. I'm hooked up! Thank you Diaspo!

Omg the cooking classes have been a saviour during lockdown, always struggled with dinner on what to cook, but with the interactive live classes i was able to cook different dishes with different flavours for al the family. The kids would usually eat separate meals to us but with the classes we have all been eating the same, so win win! I was looking to do something like this for a while now but never had the chance to so the classes came at the perfect time. So Diaspo is a big thumbs up from me, the teachers are so patient and warm and open to any questions anytime. Definitely recommend Diaspo and look forward to booking another class soon.
