The trainer explained the processes really well and gave excellent support and guidance in the practice session leading up to the final assessment.
I'm looking forward to the next block of training with the company albeit at a different training venue.

I recentley passed my c+e , kelly was my instructor and she put me at easy really quickley, her way of explaining things and lovelly all round nature made it a very pleasant experience, thank you kelly

Massive thank you to Liam for helping me pass my practical driving test as well as my CPC. He played a major part in passing by explaining key things I need to be doing and what I should be looking out for

Had CPC course today, Chris the instructor was brilliant as always, see you in a few months when we do our 3 monthly drivers course

couldn’t have asked for a better service, put my mind at ease especially with how anxious i was prior to the test.

Just passed my MOD 4 CPC with liam and simon. What a cracking experience. I turned up hesitant and wasnt very confident with it but straight away liam put me at ease. Was patient and kind, answering every question simply but with the detail we needed, being careful not to overload you with information thats not relevant at this stage. Simon then turned up and again was a lovely bloke who was clear and precise with what he was asking and just overall a nice guy! Brilliant experience and wouldn't hesitate to recommend anyone to come here for training!

Right, hold your socks, this could be a long one.

Sooo.... from the begining, when first getting in contact with Alec at Jcoates asking for advice about the class 2 course, i knew they were the go to. Came back rather quickly via email with MULTIPLE different breakdowns of how i could proceed with the class 2 course, INCLUDING personalised quotes for myself who had already completed the first few steps like(medical,licence etc)

Once selecting the best one for myself i contacted the office to proceed to pay, which Alec who then informed me that i can either pay IN FULL, Course by Course or even 0% FINANCE. So not only THE CHEAPEST but also many different ways of paying. FANTASTIC.

Moving onto the dates. Very helpfull with picking dates for training and tests and trying to get them to suit me as good as possible so that it minimises my time off current work. Again brilliant. So i managed to get my whole course completed within 1 working week (Mon-Fri)

So i started, the monday morning with my cpc mod 4 and then moving onto the reverse training and test in the afternoon, IDEAL!!.
THIS is were i met a chap called Liam Daisley!!!!

Now, i really dont know were to start regarding Liam, because from the get go at 7am monday morning, he was an absolute diamond of a man to train with. Soft approach, understandable, very thoughtful and all around nice guy. He talked you through VERY thoroughly, everything you needed to know, and without hesitation was always there to answer any questions you had. Not only did he make you feel relaxed but he made the whole of monday an enjoyable learning day. To top it off, again with nothing but knowledge and help throughout the day off Liam, i passed both the reverse manouvre and cpc mod 4.

I then had 3 days of driver training and to my absolute JOY i was allocated with Liam.

Tuesday, we was off to a good start. Listening to every piece of knowledge Liam had to offer, we got through the day with ease, whilst having a genuine chat, but most importantly, SAFELLY!!

Wednesday, again was absolutelly fantastic, and what sets Liam apart from the rest is the realtionship and trust he builds with you, and he genuinelly cares and beleives in you to achieve the one thing i beleived was impossible. Finishing off wednesday, Liam re assured me and filled me with confidence as he was very impressed with the driving i did that day, but none the less thats all thanks to him!!

Thursday felt like routine at this point with how at ease he makes you feel about driving the truck. So we just went over everything from the previous days, to tighten up the driving.

Friday was test day. I was CRA***NG it. Got in the truck an hour before test like a shaking mess. Soon after setting out on my final lesson i soon calmed down. Again, due to how at ease and normal Liam brings things across to you . It all makes total sense in the way he delivers that information.

Anyway, got to the test. Liam filled with confidence, tells me i can do, its just another drive. And thats what its was thanks to him!! So i flyed through the show me tell, Tell me questions and off we set!! 1hour 24minutes later and done. Pulled in and opened the door so me and Liam can here the result..... PASS!!! 1ST TIME!!! And thats 20% my doing but no doubt 80% Liams!!! Without him, his support and his beleif this week. I really beleive i wouldnt of done it. So i promised him i would right a good old lengthy review just to let future students know... HE IS THE MAN... and thats what ive done....

A massive thankyou to Alec in the office, but MORE IMPORTANTLY a enormous thankyou to Liam. You are without a doubt 1 in a million and i thank you for everything you have done for me this week. You will not be forgotten!! **Straight but Late** Will always be the most valuable bit of knowledge you gave me. So thankyou.

Well it has been a great week, I had Simon as my instructor for the reverse training and on the road driving. He was incredibly supportive all week, and always gave great guidance with all aspects of driving. I could feel my confidence growing each day and he gave me confidence in my ability to pass. Thank you to all of the team at J Coates for the parts they all played in making this career change a positive start!

I’ve just completed a 5‑day CPC course with J Coates (HGV Services) Ltd, and I’m genuinely impressed with the quality of the training. All aspects of the course were clearly and confidently presented, and the required participation made even the more mundane topics easier to digest and stay focused on.

The delivery of the facts and knowledge was professional throughout, but also engaging. The trainers kept the atmosphere relaxed with good banter and real‑world examples, which made the whole experience feel far less like a school classroom and much more like a practical, relevant learning environment.

Good communication from start to finish, short wait for tests which was good. Simon the trainer was very knowledgeable and spot on in teaching me what I needed to know. Would definitely recommend to others and use them again for any future training.

I completed a week-long HGV course with Liam Daisley and passed first time with only 2 minors, which really says it all.

The instruction was clear, structured, and confidence-building from day one. Everything was explained in a way that actually made sense, from manoeuvres to road positioning and test standards. The training was thorough without being overwhelming, and any mistakes were corrected calmly and professionally.

I genuinely couldn’t have asked for a better instructor and would 100% recommend Liam daisely to anyone looking to pass their HGV test first time.
