I was recruited to participate in a 1 hour research study, which took place on 5/1/26. I was told I would receive payment via PayPal in 7-10 days, however as of today 5/21/26, I still have not been paid. I keep getting told they are having issues with PayPal on their end, and have been encouraged to take payment in the same amount via Amazon gift card instead. I have repeatedly asked for updates as to the status of payment, and I keep getting told they are working to solve the issue, but no progress has been made. I would not recommend participating in any of Jasper Colin’s research studies.

I was invited to participate in a group focus discussion and offered amazon gift card as compensation. The process in between being invited and getting to the actual discussion was extremely convoluted and off-putting. My main Point-of-Contact sent bare-bones e-mail messages that initially made me question the legitimacy of the offer and their representation for Jasper Colin. Additionally they would reply to random messages within the e-mail history chain, as well as create new ones, instead of replying to the latest sent message, which removed and altered traceability of the conversation and only made things more confusing. They also wanted to use multiple channels of communication, e.g. Teams, Phone Call, Whatsapp, seemingly randomly, even if the agenda they wanted to cover did not warrant those measures, even if I told them I didn't have Whatsapp. There was hardly a consideration to schedule times in advance to discuss anything, I would just randomly receive messages during my workday expecting that we can talk immediately, never insight as to what about, "just 5 minutes". The actual date and time of the group discussion was rescheduled multiple times and I was only ever informed last minute. The day of the group discussion, the call was scheduled for my evening time so I planned to take the call from home after work. I was requested (the day-of) to test my intended hardware (video, mic, etc.) for the call. I informed my POC that I did not have my equipment with me at work but I would do my best to get home early to make sure everything was in order before joining the call. After this communication, I received numerous calls throughout the afternoon from the POC asking me if I had any updates on when I thought I would be able to get off work and when I would be getting home. I ended up ignoring the later calls because we were repeating the same conversation and I had no new information to share. The actual group discussion, when it happened, was fine and smooth. However dealing with those "coordinating" the event was frustrating enough that I have no intentions to solicit any future offers regardless of compensation. Another part that was off-putting, prior to the group discussion, was when talking to a different coordinator than the main POC, where I had to run through a survey to ensure I was a fit for the discussion. Even though I was, the coordinator treated the whole interaction as if maybe I wasn't "really", as if we were "in on it together" to try to game me into this group discussion. We even had a follow up review of the survey, since the group discussion was postponed so many times, and the coordinator wanted to ensure that after so much time that I still "remembered" which answers I gave -- it felt ridiculous because my answers were my honest truth and I was very open with my responses yet he was coaching me like I was about to go to the cops with a fake story to be kept straight.

My experience with this organization was extremely disappointing. I was initially told that the surveys would focus on my personal experience and professional background in the field. However, the questions quickly shifted toward gathering detailed information about my current organization, including its work, size, operations, and internal practices.

This felt less like a survey about my own expertise and more like an attempt to extract organizational information. I would caution others to be mindful when engaging with platforms or companies that request details beyond your personal experience, especially when those details relate to your employer or workplace practices.

I had a very disappointing experience with this survey company. Their screening process was clearly inadequate and lacked basic attention to detail.

Before scheduling me, they failed to ask the necessary qualifying questions to determine whether I was actually eligible for the survey. Because of their poor vetting, I was invited to participate and took the time to show up—only to find out that I didn’t qualify once the survey had already started.

This situation was entirely avoidable and a direct result of their lack of due diligence. It ended up wasting my time and effort, which is frustrating enough on its own. What made it worse was their refusal to provide any compensation, despite the fact that the issue was caused by their own oversight.

Overall, the process felt disorganized and unfair. Participants should not have to bear the consequences of a company’s failure to properly screen candidates. I would not recommend working with them unless they significantly improve their qualification process and take responsibility for mistakes like this.

They've conducted numerous surveys with me, but they haven't paid me anything after more than two months. I selected Amazon gift cards as my payment method and received them, but I haven't received them.
Now, the email address they used is no longer available.

The company contacted me and told me that they are currently making system changes and this is what caused the delay. Today the cards were sent via Amazon.

They conducted multiple surveys with me as a subject matter expert, but haven't paid any honorarium after more than six weeks. When I followed up with them, they claimed they have an internal issue with PayPal, which isn't a reasonable claim. Also, they claimed people who chose Amazon Gift Cards as a payment method received them, but I personally know an expert who chose an Amazon Gift Card and hasn't received it after more than six weeks, so their claim doesn't match what I've observed.

Update 1: It seems they have multiple split teams, some of which are faster than others. I noticed that for one subject matter expert I know, an Amazon Gift Card and a PayPal payment were sent recently(with 2 months delay), but I have not received mine yet after about two months.
