Direct experience shows site hijacking and dangerous forum practices
I was directly involved in creating the wiki currently linked on the header of this forum, including its rules, initial design, structure, social media, and most of its articles along with a collaborator from r/incelswithouthate. At the time, it was a multi-forum wiki. According to my experience, the forum owner initially presented as a neutral content host but later attempted to take control of the wiki.
During a dispute on Discord among multiple forum administrators about whether ads should be present on the wiki, the aforementioned forum owner decided I should have the final say and explicitly told me that I "owned" the wiki verbatim. However, a few months afterward, this same individual publicly took actions inconsistent with those statements, including putting his forum branding all over the wiki, setting up competing Twitter accounts, and removing all the original active, wiki administrators and writers. Before this, his involvement had been limited to (poor) technical support and minor copyediting. This situation raises serious concerns about transparency, accountability, and a desire to try to monopolize the topic.
Beyond my personal involvement in a linked wiki, the forum has reportedly tolerated posts encouraging self-harm and suicide for years, while selectively banning certain users, such as self-identified incel feminists. Independent reporting also links the owner to websites promoting harmful behavior, which appear to overlap with the forum community.
Overall, the forum seems to prioritize engagement and clicks over user safety, and my direct involvement in the wiki makes me particularly concerned about its leadership and moderation practices.
