Beware of false advertising! They claim your account will be removed from your credit report after paying off your debt, but that's a lie. Instead, it's marked as "settled for less than the full amount," with all late payments still listed. This stays on your credit report for 7 years starting the day you paid off your settlement, ruining your chances of getting loans or credit. They also pile on high fees and monthly hidden charges; they will take their shares before they start paying yours. Customer service is very responsive—until you catch them lying, then they ignore you completely. My emails went unanswered after that. Stay away! Now I'm stuck fixing my credit myself.

They’re extremely sweet and professional. My debt was forgiven before negotiation and I ended up getting everything back. They will make you feel taken care of. They can be tough to reach at times but they helped me so much.

This company is a SCAM. Apparently most of the reviews one can find online, are created by their employees. They repeatedly violate the Federal Telephone Consumer Protection Act, and apparently have scammed a LOT of people out of money, claiming to help them settle debts. I am currently filing a complaint against them with the California State Attorney General's Office, and working with an attorney to hold them accountable for their TCPA violations.

I'm visiting Vietnam and find out my niece used to work at Citizen. All of their departments are in Saigon. No wonder their agents speak Vietnamese so well !!! They just have a small office in CA, tricking people to think they are based in the US. All they do is just to call the banks and get offers according to the bank's guidelines, they barely negotiate at all!!! Their agents are getting paid just couple of hundreds bucks. Why the hell they even charge me 25% fee?
Another scam is whether my debt is 10,000 or 1,000 bucks, their "negotiation" is the same but I have to pay 10 times as much the fee. This is so unacceptable.

I talked on the phone with someone who did not introduce their name. They got my information and I found this site and read the reviews, all of the 5 stars are fake and the one stars seems accurate and similar to my experience. So I had told the lady to cancel and disregard all my info and she quickly told me that she will call me back. I had asked her why and she told me she was reviewing my information. However, she already told me that beforehand and didn’t need to hang up. But when I told her I want to cancel she said she needs to call me back. Very strange, she now had my all my personal info. Please be aware of scam.

I contacted a company named Fortress Debt Relief because they were advertising government money that did NOT need to be paid back, I saw a video where they were being handed a government check. Next thing i know im signing up for debt relief and they said citizen debt services was my supplier? I talked to someone named Ramee, which is a scammer and a fraud. I will be filing this complaint with the BBB and the FTC. Citizen Debt Services is in cahoots with fly by night companies that mislead advertising to bring in people that are looking for answers to their debt problems. This is terrible!
