Impossible to use
I've tried to register as a client, it took over two months, and it didn't happen at the end and all my data stored has been removed (over 1TB).
Firstly, I was expecting some self-service, where I can just register and use it, since it was advertised as "decentralized", also like normal cloud companies do, but I was mislead.
Ended up with chain of never ending bureaucracy which just led to misunderstanding and disaster.
I've registered interest, my trial account started and had a call with someone from IC. They didn't have any technical knowledge to answer any of the question, it was just a typical sales pitch. Even after a call, I had near-zero technical questions answered.
When I've asked about ICN (the Impossible Cloud Network, through which I've actually found them, thinking it's the same thing) they had no clue about it, said it's a separate entity, and has nothing to do with them, which is further confusing which could explain lack of proper communication channels and knowledge shared.
So then I've decided to go with the account, I was promised it's going to be sorted soon, and I can use my trial account, which can be extended as I need, which then it can be converted to the long term account and I should wait for someone to contact me.
So I've used the account as suggested.
Then after a month, someone contacted me, but from completely different vendor company (Zebra) without proper knowledge what I need, it's just on the basic level that I'm interested client and need some storage, so I had to explain over again what I need.
It was confusing, because they said they don't sell products directly to end customers, only through channel partners.
Then agreed to move forward, they said my region is not supported yet and they're going to work on it.
Communication was back and forward, keep delaying some internal issues that was there.
I agreed on the deal and storage, which seems you've to agree how much fixed storage you need in advance, which is another not convenient way comparing to other cloud providers.
Then I suppose to have my account activated and receive my first invoice in January which sounded promising.
To be clear, it's not my responsibility to keep chasing people every few days as I've other things to do, so I was expecting this is going to be sorted and my existing account is going to be converted into long term payable account.
Instead, I was never to be contacted again, and my existing storage account has been wiped.
I understand it was a trial account, trial period was then extended enough, and I've promised my account is going to be migrated to the real one which never happened.
I really don't care if it would take over half a year to open the long-term storage account, I understand it's a new company and they need to sort out stuff, what I didn't like is that I've started to use storage and all is gone now.
It looks like the company is split into several not connected entities and it's stuck in its own complex structures and procedures which doesn't really work.
On the other side, I also wanted to become a hardware provider, despite having some hardware in data center, but after a year, never got any single response or update, nothing, and I was not only the one, there is the whole community threads dedicated on how badly they're ignoring people interested in the cooperation, they only cherry-pick the big companies or with influence which is a bit bias.
Now, having two perspectives on it (as ignored client at IC seeing how badly it works and ignored provider at ICN), after a year nothing really changed, I can only say this company goes nowhere with zero progress. It's kind of decentralized, but in a bad way, spread across different entities which lack of communication. I wouldn't trust now this company with my data to store or anything else. And from the storage perspective, nothing to do with decentralization, only few regions are supported and hardware providers are just cherry-picked.
