Could not pay money into my investment…
Could not pay money into my investment account. Tried calling for a total of over an hour and a half on all numbers including complaints number. No-one picking up. Tried another trading number, tried to transfer me - no-one picking up. Tried their chat option - came up with an error notification. No response.
This is supposed to be their investment wing where time is particularly of the essence. No facility for any level of urgency.
Used to be OK - now unfit for purpose. Utterly useless. Clear what they think of the customers.
Do not trust them with your money
Money was literally stolen from my account despite me not losing my card details anywhere. My card has never left my house and I haven't used it on any website - I use this account to transfer money between my own bank accounts.
Clearly Barclays lost my information and lied when confronted

Heute wurde mir zum x-Mal der Online- Zugang gesperrt. Es war keine Identifizierung mit dem Fingerprint möglich und das im Passwortmanager hinterlegte Passwort wurde auch nicht akzeptiert. 99% der Trasaktionen werden über PP bezahlt. Wäre doch gelacht, wenn ich an diesem schönen Sonntag bei Barclays jemand erreicht hätte.

Please avoid this bank I'm single parent and had over 1000 taken with duplicate transactions on the same day and same time all happening at 3pm .
They've admitted its not me but refusing to pay me back , I did try phoning numerous times before loosing it to be told transactions from February they can't see so to order statements then for me to cross fraudulent transactions again doing their job if I wasn't so unwell I'd go to the bank and give them what for please PLEASE PLEASE AVOID IVE LOST MONEY THSIR REFUSING TO GIVE ME BACK
The Worst Business Banking Experience – Avoid Barclays at All Costs!
I have never encountered a company as utterly incompetent and infuriating as Barclays. It’s hard to believe they’re even in business with the disgraceful service they provide. Barclays has wasted 13 days of my time with no resolution whatsoever. Their glossy ads and fancy marketing materials promise an easy, supportive and professional experience for small business owners. Don’t be fooled. This is a complete farce.
As a business owner myself of 40 years, I understand how crucial it is to have things handled quickly and professionally. I would be shocked if something as small as a name discrepancy slipped through the cracks for 13 days in any business I ran. This isn’t just a minor oversight—it’s gross negligence. The fact that Barclays couldn’t flag such a simple issue at the start and chose to waste my time for nearly two weeks shows a complete lack of attention to detail and respect for their customers.
After 13 days of waiting, they finally send me a response claiming that my name appears differently on my passport compared to Companies House. Seriously? 13 days to spot a simple discrepancy that could have been flagged from the start? I’ve been left hanging while they twiddle their thumbs, and I’m beyond furious.
Add my experience to the long list of dissatisfied customers. Just look at Trustpilot. You’ll find many angry customers that have received the same appalling service: endless delays, zero accountability, and a complete disregard for small businesses. Barclays claims they support local businesses, but the reality is they couldn’t care less about the time and money we lose trying to chase them down for answers.
I regret every second spent trying to deal with Barclays. If you're a small business owner, do yourself a favour and run far, far away from this shambles of a bank. It’s clear they have no idea how to handle customers or provide even the most basic of services.
Teriible security
Do yourself a favor - never ever trust your money to Barclays saving account. Their security is a joke. You literally saving money in your email. What they call MFA is not an MFA. As soon as someone has access to your email, you will loose everything. They don't track any fraud activity. To reset a password is piece of cake of hackers as soon as they know account number and dob.
If you have joint account and for example your spouse's email was hacked, hackers can add external account on his/her profile and transfer everything. Despite that this is a joint account , you won't receive any notification. It was a fortunate coincidence that we noticed that someone trying to create additional external account. If something happens after hours - you are on your own, no one to help from their side.
What is huge surprise for me that many online reviewers still putting them into top 5. Yes , they have a high yield BUT it's not worth it to risk everything.

Just a big thank you to Yvonne Rint at Barclays Edgware Road who made it very easy to make a difficult banking today.
Very lax credit card security
Was very happy for over a decade. Not now. A fraudster was able to go into my CC account, change address, email, phone number, everything to another state 1000 miles away. And then add an additional cardholder and have new cards sent to Ohio when I live in Texas. I NEVER received any kind of notification that my whole profile had been changed and cards ordered. I only discovered when I went into my account online to check my balance, etc. I could not log in and thus called Barclay. That's unreal in 2024. And after I got it straightened out with them on the phone, it turns out the incompetent lady actually mailed the new card to the fraudster's Ohio address. I just happened to call back the next day and asked for a supervisor for the sole purpose of expressing my utter dismay how this total profile change and new cards issued could ever happen. During this call, I asked for confirmation of where it was sent since I had lost all confidence in Barclay's. That's when the supervisor discovered that they had sent the replacement card to Ohio. OMG. She cancelled the card and overnighted me another one. Count my BEYOND DISMAYED.
Horrible customer service
Horrid customer service. Representative “supervisor’s” repeated answers of “I don’t know” and “I can’t answer that” are unacceptable, and yet she outright refused to escalate the call. Absolutely HORRID!!

Barclays? Crap, branches are never open at reasonable times, staff refuse to carry out basic banking duties for customers, barclays phone service, an absolute joke an hour and 40 on hold, still no answer, time to change bank!

Barclays personal banking phone line is a joke. It's been over 30 minutes and they still haven't answered the call. I will be closing my account with them
Terrible Customer Service with Fraud!
Terrible Customer Service for over a month! Barclays refuses to refund my $2,200 from a fraud company. Barclays asked me to write letters and provide documents to show why the charge should be reversed, so I did. Now a month later they are saying they don't see an issue.
The $2,200 is for a three year contract providing service for a company website, I moved my website within 48 hrs of the company not being able to fix its problems and causing issues with my employee's emails and client emails. The company is not providing any services to me or my company, and Barclays doesn't see why the $2,200 should be credited back!
