So I have to say, some of the meals, like the chipotle chicken and the teriyaki chicken, genuinely taste very nice, and the macros with a quick eye scan look sufficient and look like exactly what they have mentioned in the packaging, or at least similar. The packaging itself is not up to the mark. I would question the hygiene levels when you have packaging which is, very easy to remove, exposing meats or any kind of food for that matter to air is not what I would expect from a food delivery service. It needs to be airtight packaging. I have pictures to show it as well.

I also shared some pictures, specifically of two meals in back-to-back weeks from the same chef that were really not up to the mark in terms of the packaging.

One of the weeks the packaging was too loose, and the other week the packaging was actually broken.

1. Firstly, in the broken packaging, you do not know where that particle that is broken is. Is it inside the food? Is it somewhere else?

2. Secondly, the rice from that meal spilled into the different compartments of that meal itself, but also inside the other meals in the carton, because the packaging for all the meals was loose.

I would really, really question the hygiene levels, but genuinely I'm not hating on the company. The macros and the food quality are good for largely most of the meals. I would love to give it a shot again, but now I'm a bit nervous about the hygiene levels, and I would love to discuss this more with someone in their operations team.

Most of the meals are good quality, some seem to have a little too much oil or fat but all in all a good meal prep service. They’re customer support is good, I had questioned some of the nutritional values and they were quick to come back and explain.

I’ve been looking for authentic tasting ready meals for months.
I’ve tried a few. In fact many and I’ve only eaten four of your meals but I’m delighted! Wow the taste and presentation is on point. I look forward to them. My first was Thai green chicken with jasmine rice. It was absolutely delicious. I could smell its deliciousness when it arrived even though it was frozen.
I only wish the portions were bigger. I don’t mind paying a bit more. Well done to all these marvellous cooks. I manage ME/CFS and it devastates my energy. Cooking depletes me as with most activities so this really helps. Thankyou so much.

It's so easy to order the meals. They come well packaged & oh my goodness! The taste of each meal is amazing! The only way to describe them is 'real food'. No sloppy mash, lasagne is properly formed & the accompanying veggies are all so tasty. 100% recommend. Thank you

Honestly, Homecooks has been a total game-changer for my lunches at the office. The food actually tastes like a proper home-cooked meal rather than those bland, processed ready meals you get at the supermarket. It’s so much better than ordering a takeaway, and more importantly it’s much kinder to my bank account. The variety is great and it’s saved me so much time on prep and washing up. I can’t recommend them enough if you want real food without the effort!

Easy ordering, swift delivery, well packaged, one meal was missing, this was refunded and notified by email the same day, only down side no physical paperwork invoice in box with meals, so needed to search junk emails to find invoice/refund details. Tried 2 meals so far, one a little spicy for me but still enjoyable, meal sizes are substantial and have curbed my evening snacking.

Me and my husband tried our first HomeCooks meal last night and we have really enjoyed it! (Lithuanian Garlic Chicken) We are looking forward to try out a different meal tonight!

Food tastes great and delivery was smooth and not tacky

Whenever I leave a review, I always like to balance out the positives with a few negatives, because surely something cannot be perfect... right? Well, wrong! In fact, very wrong. HomeCooks are 10/10, best of the best, 5 stars, amazing... you get the picture!

I've been with HomeCooks pretty much from the beginning, after seeing them at the Ideal Home Show, in 2022, and haven't looked back since! Their meals are super tasty, made by great independent chefs, in small batches. The meals are always full of flavour, and I love that the chefs are passionate about their cooking, which comes across in the dishes they make. 'Cooking' them at home is a breeze - microwaves within a few minutes, from frozen or chilled, and is super tasty.

If there was a tiny, tiny bit of improvement needed (if you really pushed me!) I'd have to say that portion sizes (both on the protein side, and on the 'sides' side, but especially with the sides) could be improved. I've had a couple of dishes where it has come with carrots, and I've spotted about 5 slices of carrot in the tray, which looks up at me with a tear in it's eye, but throwing some frozen veg in a jug in the microwave for a couple of minutes normally fixes that. Sometimes (rarely) I'll cook myself a bit of extra rice (one of those microwave pouches) but perhaps I'm just a bigger eater than others are (some may say greedy - I just say... enjoying the food so much I want more!!). But in all seriousness, especially as a main meal in the evening, I am left with a little 'if only there was a little bit more' or 'I could do with a small dessert' to just tide me over. Aside from that, I cannot complain, at all.

Promo guys (the ones I saw at the Ideal Home Show, at least!) are absolutely incredible. You guys rock, and I really, really hope that you're back again this year, so that I can see you again! Octavian... words cannot express how fudging brilliant you are. I've had to contact HomeCooks via email, on a few occasions, and have also been a part of their initial Facebook group, and Octavian is just elite. Such a great guy, and always super, super responsive to emails and messages. A credit to the team.

Oh... and the Good Grain partnership that's going on at the moment... AMAZING!! If you're considering adding some of their overnight oats to your HomeCooks delivery, then PLEASE listen to your head (and stomach!) and get them added. They're super tasty.

I've rambled on enough (just like in my emails to Support - oopsies!) but honestly, just give it a go once. The worst that can happen is you don't order the meals again. The best that can happen is you rely on the meals every day, and your oven goes to waste...!

Just a quick FYI for those that have tried the GoPuff meals, and haven't tried the subscription/website meals yet... try them! They're on another level - you'll wish you'd given them a go, because you'll get to try the best meals you've ever eaten! Take it from me - HomeCooks is a winner!

Top-notch customer service. I like the meal selection too and the eco-friendly packaging. Sometimes the rice is a bit hard (on the sides) and as other reviewers have stated, the portion sizes are a bit small and the website needs some work. I also wish it were easier to just auto-select our usual meals every week, and that the same meals were available every week (sometimes I have to pick ones I don't really like because my favorites just aren't there that week). But overall I really like this.

I've been ordering from homecooks for a few weeks now and I can say after trying many prepared meals delivery, they're one of the best out there. First of all, the taste of the food was amazing, the delivery was seamless, the price, and the opportunity to have a variety of food from a variety of chefs is really working well for me.

Really balanced delicious! Taste fresher than prepkitchen. A little heavy on the oil and fat at times in some meals but love the transparency of what is in each meal and love that they care more than about the macros. They also add the fibre content! Would love to see even more detail in their nutrition labels but they are definitely blowing everyone out of the water on pre made meals. And the packaging being eco conscious is such a bonus, no more added worry about plastic leaching into your food! Win win!

Good, tasty food
I changed from Frive due to lack of flavour variety and I am glad I did. So far I have enjoyed the meals, they are tasty and also my kids love them too (which is a great bonus). The only downside so far is that portion size are a bit small and I wish they had an option to increase portion size. Because of that I increased the number of meals I am buying a week. Overall I am very happy! Thank you

Had a issue when they ran out of boxes 📦 but not only was it sorted out immediately they gave me a voucher for my inconvenience and apart from that the food is excellent and I have just found Roast Chicken omg I will certainly be ordering more Kind regards jacky slade ……

I’m really enjoying HomeCooks. The meals are really tasty with good portion sizes. I also like how there isn’t as much packaging (cardboard) as there is with other companies to get rid of in the recycling each week. The website is easy to navigate as well.

I’ve been really impressed with HomeCooks so far. The food has been genuinely very good, with high-quality ingredients and amazing flavour.
I also love how everything is separated into individual portions, which makes it really convenient. It’s easy to store in the fridge or freezer, and heating it up is quick and simple.
Overall, a great experience so far and I’ll definitely be ordering again.

Great food and variety. The meals taste a lot fresher than other meal prep companies and you can really tell the food is made by different chefs. As Simmer for example, a lot of their food tastes samey, like they use the same base. The fact it is separated into compartments is also a big plus.

I partnered with HomeCooks and had the most loveliest experience, there were so many meal options that I actually struggled to decide on 3! I love the idea of having meals prepped for me when I’m working crazy shifts, making sure I am hitting my nutrients with my current marathon training has been a big challenge — but HomeCooks has helped this. Very happy with my overall experience and will definitely try other meals!

I've tried various meal delivery services and this is the one I'm sticking with. The food isn't the best (frive is better but also much more expensive) but I like Homecooks because they come in paper trays (I don't want to microwave plastic) although you can't recycle them because the paper has food residue. I don't like the gel packs (meals arrived frozen) but guess I can't avoid that with any company. They used to use recyclable silver insulation but have recently changed to silver bubble wrap bags which I don't know if recyclable. Lid s are standard pet 1.

The food is good. I like the way it's separated and that's there's not too much carbs. I don't understand why ALL these meal companies lack veg. It's like a token gesture. You would have thought veg would be a cheap addition?? Good amount of protein. Something I have noticed is a lot of the meals are too spicy for me, reducing my meal options sadly. My favourite is beef bourguignon but sadly that's dropped off the menu now too. You can rate the meals but only order by order so you have to wait until you've eaten everything.

Interactions I've had with customer service have been good.

The food is delicious and there are many options to choose from! Very friendly customer service. I give it 4 starts because website needs some improvement, like sometimes the date of delivery reflects incorrectly but after contacting support team they fix it quickly. There’s more spicy flavourful options and more simple ones so you can pick whatever your taste preferences is you can find something for you. I love the experience overall and I think the food is great!
