Bad customer policies
I have enjoyed HobbyMaker and the presenters and demonstrators are funny and lovely.
I recently attended craftopia in April 2026 which was great!
I’ve ordered lots and never had any real problems until now.
I have been chasing up missed items from an order on 18th April, customer service emails are very apologetic but don’t address the issues and lots and lots of back and forth.
I am very frustrated and upset with the service, company policy seems to be to get the customer to wander their street and the next street knocking on strangers doors trying to locate a missing parcel that was delivered by Royal Mail to another address.
I was even given an exact address and asked if l wouldn’t mind going there? After l had and the person didn’t have my parcel, l informed customer service who then told me actually it might have been delivered at a possible 6 other properties?
Now l have to fill in a “denial of receipt” before l can get a refund or another replacement.
The onus seems to be on the customer to do all the running around!?
I have never been treated like this before and it felt very impersonal but l see from these reviews that the customer service staff treat everyone the same.
I’ve even provided photographs.
I don’t need more apologies, what l and all customers want is to receive their items/goods they have bought and paid for and in a reasonable timeframe.
If they can’t handle the problem they should expedite it to a manager.

My Hobbymaker Order Since Placed 23/01/26 took 27 working days to Arrive…
My Order was Placed 24/01/26 I did not recieve this until 03/03/26. The product was from Crafters Companion. I know that they were having work done on the warehouse but realistically 3rd party or no 3rd party when you place an order with Hobbymaker you should receive the same treatment from them as in a supplier. I sent an email to Hobbymaker Customer Service 14 days after my oredr date as not received and then 26 days after past date ordered no good apology just a brief Sorry. by the 15th day had passed they just left it in the hands of the suppliers no continuous update at all. If you are going to sell a product on behalf of then you should at least share the responsibility and Crafters Companion should of also contacted me directly with an update and an apology. I think exceeding 26 days over due was absolutely disgusting which was what it was when finally delivered 03/03/26. I certainly have reduced my viewing time with this channel and like most i have spent thousands over the time so you would think a little more care and attention with situations like these should be given. It has totally put me off as this happens too often. I will now if at all only order should and when i need to through Hobbymaker or direct from the supplier. Such a let down. I dont know about anyone else but i am finding quite a few channels like these past and present just the same. They start off well and then slack off and Issues arise.

You may not get the discount being offered.
I ordered from the Janie's Originals Birthday show because they were offering a collectable badge with a discount on your next shop. I was hoping to put together a collection of tools from Janie's so thought this would be helpful. However, my badge never arrived with my order so no future discount. I contacted customer services who have advised that the badges ran out. Either Janie's or HM must have known how many badges there were and how many orders were coming in so should have clearly stated that they had run out or were subject to availability/limited. Anyone ordering that day could have still received the discount code, because let's face it, that's the big draw. I'm pretty sure delivery from Janie's direct would have been cheaper too.

Poor communication regarding orders
I finally bought something from Hobbymaker last Sunday. But, I have received no updates on my order; if it has been dispatched, who is the courier and tracking the item, nothing, I don't know when the parcel will arrive so I can make sure I'm in to receive it. I'm getting emails about products so they clearly have my email address.
Worse is my inability to find my account on the website so I can check my details etc
I think it is unlikely I will buy from there again unless I can sort it all out

This company is an actual joke. I have never had such bad customer service in my life. Delivery is slow, the quality of some of the products is sub-par.
AVOID this company as best you can. Seems to be run by low IQ, inept and incompetent people who seem happy to take your money but do nothing to earn it.
No-one responds to emails, and when you phone them; their attitude is passive-aggressive. Honestly, do yourselves a favour and find another crafting outlet to buy from

I wish I read previous reviews before placing an order with this god awful company. Avoid this company with a barg pole.
I placed an order on 16th November, after about a week or so I chased to find out where my order was. HM told me I needed to wait 11 working days and then I could contact them again. I could see Yodel had recieved the item on 18th November but there seemed to be no movement in the delivery.
This was a very clever tactic as it voids your 14 day right to cancel.
HM informed me after 11 working days I can have a refund. 11 days passed, still no order so I requested said refund, only to be told they needed to investigate matters first! It was very very clear Yodel have lost my parcel, you can see from the tracker. I no longer require the order as I have ordered elsewhere in time for Christmas! Hobbymaker are now refusing a refund and ignoring my emails.
Seeking legal advice.
Avoid this company, seems to be lots of customers in the same boat! do not order from them unless you want to be left out of pocket!

£120 lost sale
Well you have just lost a sale for £120 on the Hunky Dory goodie boxes because a small credit of about £3.90 on my account couldn't be set against the sale because I wanted to use split pay. BTW the only reason I had the credit was because a Dreamees stamp I ordered was missed off a previous order even though it's even now still shown as available on your website, and of course you had taken payment. You would have got all the money anyway on the HD boxes albeit over a number of months but for some reason the credit could only be applied if I paid in one lump sum. I declined so you lost the order. You really don't want people to buy from you do you?

Appalling Customer Service - Lost Parcel
Appalling Customer Service. According to Yodel my parcel was delivered a week ago. It wasn't and the delivery photo shows somewhere completely unknown. Rang Hobbymaker to report it. A week later still no response from them.
Rang again today to be told there were no more notes on my case so looked like the lost parcel team hadn't picked it up yet.
I know people get busy but to have not even had a response a week later is terrible.
Initially I wanted a replacement for my item but to be honest the joy is gone now and I may as well just have my money.
My first time ordering from Hobbymaker and now I see how they deal with issues it will be my last!
EDIT: I had already walked up and down the drive to check if anywhere matched the delivery photo.
I had to send a complaint email a week after my initial phone call before I got a response.
Not sure why no. 18 as this is a bungalow with an overgrown front garden and small path, not a block paved drive as shown on the delivery photo.

Poor delivery
They take the money from your account before the item is despatched. I was informed my delivery would take 8-11 working days to come yet after this time the item has still not been sent from the supplier.
They are good at taking your money but not at delivering it on time.

Ordered a Crafter's Companion paint pan…
Ordered a Crafter's Companion paint pan set on the 3rd of September and I'm still waiting for it to arrive. Emailed and phoned numerous times with no joy: we've passed it on the the relevant team.
Also, I received a parcel from Sanntangle, delivered by Yodel, and for the first time in over 100 deliveries, the package was open and 1 item missing.

August order now October still not received
Placed an order in August advised that the company was moving its warehouse and that orders would be delayed due to this. We are now in October and still no sign of order, this was a substantial amount of money for this order. I have contacted Hobbymaker and they said they were looking into it, however still no reply, no update, seems as though they are ignoring me. I have spend thousands of pounds over the years with Hobbymaker and Crafters Companion and I have to say they have let me down with their Customer Service. I can say that the previous order that I placed with Hobbymaker was a disaster in the fact that what I ordered is not what was delivered and what was delivered was not ordered by me. Heaven knows what is going on in their packing department but it is not fit for purpose, there is no checking of orders and no quality control at all, because if there was, this would not happen. Once this debarkle has been sorted out I can definately say that I will be placing no more orders with them ever again. My advice is use TEMU and that is where I will be getting all my craft essentials from now on.

Why do they always round down price per…
Why do they always round down price per item? £42.99 for 150 sheets is not 28p per sheet as it would cost £42 not £42.99 also split pays are always less that actual cost. Be honest if it is 28p per sheet charge 28p per sheet and not 28.66! It not difficult being honest. Re reply it’s not confusion it’s lying.

Very bad customer service
I placed an order on 29th august, it didn’t arrive before the 11th September, as I was taking a short break, I re-arranged delivery to the 16th September. I waited in all day, it didn’t arrive, I waited in all day on the 17th& 18th it still didn’t arrive. I then cancelled the order 7 days ago and requested a refund only to receive an email from yodel confirming delivery on 20th. I refused to accept delivery and they have now attempted 3 days to re-deliver. I am now told that i won’t get a refund until they received the package back which should never have been dispatched. I have tried to speak to the refund department as I have been told it needs to be “investigated”, which I might say made me feel really uncomfortable as if it was my fault and I personally was being investigated. I have now told them if I don’t receive a refund within another week(2 weeks after cancellation of the order)my bank will be dealing with it on my behalf, I will NEVER EVER BUY FROM THIS COMPANY AGAIN.

Delivery delays totally unacceptable!Account closure threats!
I placed my HobbyMaker order online on 27th Aug for 2 items from 2 different suppliers.HobbyMaker's website states payment is only taken on despatch but the evidence on my account proves otherwise.
On 29th Aug they took payment of £89.93 from my bank. Its now over 3 weeks and to date on 21st Sept nothing has arrived and no tracking evidence has been produced.
On cancelling the order by phone and email I requested a refund to be issued within 2 weeks or I would require a chargeback to be undertaken by my bankers .I was met with the threat of account closure should this process be undertaken successfully.
All chargebacks have to be proven with evidence before the banks will process.
Conclusion;
When there is a breach of contract and HobbyMaker fails to deliver or is slow to refund and a chargeback occurs, the customer is penalised by the account being closed.
Fabulous customer service, don't you think?

Haven’t received the item
Haven’t received the item. Was dispatched after I was supposed to receive it and after I had informed Hobbymaker that I would not be home to receive the parcel as would be away., Cancellation was refused and I’m now away from home , the tracking does not work so I have no idea if this has been left at my address or not. Will not order again.

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE
Placed an order from Hobbymaker for 2 items on 9th July 25, one was Tonic glue press bundle and the other was a Lisa Horton Die set, spent over £70, I received the glue press but not the die set, I have made 3 calls and sent email regarding where is my die set, the answer I get is they are waiting for a reply from the supplier which is Lisa Horton Craft... it is now 21st August, still waiting for this to be resolved, I'm going to contact my bank to reverse the payment I made as this is now the only way to resolve this. Very poor customer service, I wish I brought the craft item from another company... This is not the way to treat your customers, they are very quick to take my money...

Sharp practicing
This is the first time I’ve ordered from this Company and it will certainly be the last. I ordered 2 items and one of them arrived with the box crushed. The outer packaging was intact so this was not down to the courier. There was a note stuck to my invoice from a different Company saying that the 2nd item was not available and that I would be refunded. As I had not received a refund after a few days, I contacted them and was asked to send photo’s of what I’d received plus the invoice. I did so, and was told they would process a refund. Two weeks later, I had still not received it so I contacted them again and they said my refund was being processed. A couple of days later I received a refund which was £2.50 short of what I’d paid them, with no explanation as to why. I didn’t pursue it as I felt somewhat fortunate to have received any sort of refund at all. They charge almost £5 delivery on all orders regardless of the size of the item, even if it is something minute. I feel these people are sharp practicing, rip you off, and try to avoid refunding. Definitely a Company to avoid and I would advise other customers to do so.

Placed an order, received most of it but missing an embossed folder.
To date I have sent three emails with no response. I find their customer service is zero. Happy to take your money then ignore you.
