I don’t tend to write reviews but for the service provided I think it needs recognition. Don was professional, friendly and kept me in the loop at all times. Always answered any questions and was quick at replying putting my mind at ease. We were on a tight deadline due to a house sale and Don completed our survey quickly and efficiently allowing an already stressful time of buying/selling an easy part of the process. Do not read bad reviews as these are so far from the truth and damning when this company is legitimate and trustworthy. Would definitely recommend to family and friends and will use Don again in the future. Thank you for all your help!

I wish I could give zero stars! Don turned up to survey our property on the instruction of our buyers, though no communication was given to our estate agents until he was already on the way to survey the property. Luckily our estate agents were able to provide him with a key, because we were not home (having had no idea he was coming). When my husband got home from work, he arrived to find that Don had URINATED up the side of our gate at the front of our house, DESPITE HAVING A KEY and access to the bathroom! When confronted he eventually admitted to this, and then refused to leave the property, stating that he 'had to finish the survey'. After finally leaving the property WITH our key, he did not return it to the estate agents for 3 hours, despite it only being a 20 minute drive away. Completely unprofessional, disgusting behaviour.

This person decided to scam me with a text message, I thought it was my actual surveyor so I gave him the estate agents details. He then took on the survey of his own accord contacting the agent and the vendor without any instruction at all by me (got my details from a comparison site) then tried to invoice me. When I refused to pay he threatened legal action and is harassing me with messages from different numbers. He’s then telling me his life story about his kids saying he is 66 and hadn’t got long to work. All of which I’m blocking. His office is a rent a desk in London and not an actual business address and he still cannot provide a RICS number. I have reported to police.
RESPONSE TO REPLY: I can categorically confirm that no instruction was given. At no time did i offer to remove the review in exchange for a free survey. I 100% stand by my review as true and honest and it looks like I’m not the only one.

Don was helpful from the start when I enquired about the price and differences between the survey levels. He attended the property promptly after instruction, contacted me after to discuss prior to sending the report so I was aware, kept me informed with the report process and added in details from the EPC. When sending the report he ensured I understood the contents and what to do next offering his time for me to go through any questions I might have. Kept in contact throughout the process. Overall, I was very satisfied with the services provided. Don was professional and completed the survey as per the scheduled. The price was also reasonable when compared with other survey agencies. I highly recommend Hitchinandbayford for surveys.

My experience with Don's survey was good. He visited twice the property to do the survey. His report is very good well explained with pictures. I had a level 2 survey but the report was very detailed with recommended solutions.

I’m supper happy with them. They’re fast communicating and so supportive. The’ve tried to arrange everything as quick as possible while doing everything in a professional way.

We had a homebuyers report done with Don. Don is a knowledgable surveyor and the survey was done in a timely manner, with excellent communication and to a high standard. The final report provided sufficient detail on all aspects of the interior and exterior of the house and helped us shape an informed opinion on the house purchase.

The price was also very reasonable and we'd happily recommend Don and his surveying services to anyone in the area.

Have used Don a few times now and have always found him well priced and effective. Sellers who have been present when he has conducted his survey have said he is very thorough and knowledgeable. He takes lots of photos and provides detail on any potential issues.

Very reasonably priced, this survey was not only extremely thorough, but Don documented it with many relevant photographs. He then took the time, even on a weekend, to telephone me, guide me through the survey and then explain all his concerns about the house.
I couldn't have asked for a more helpful, polite and knowledgeable gentleman to survey my house. Would I use him again? Certainly.
