How glad am I that I checked trustpilot before I hired a car! I was about to spend €200 on a car and have to leave a hefty deposit down. I found Martin and emailed him and within minutes he replied with a car that was €90 cheaper with free additional driver, full to full fuel, full insurance and no deposit to leave. Actually gobsmacked at how easy it was. He emailed through the voucher and terms and conditions and when we got to Malaga it literally took 5 minutes to get the car and be on the road. Any time I go to Spain now I will go straight through Martin! Any questions I had were answered within minutes and I couldn’t have asked for better service.

Wish I could go higher than excellent, Martin and his dad have gone so far above the normal levels of car hire service over the years I have used them.
Friendly, approachable easily contacted and even sorted out problems when Ryanair dumped us in Alicante and Murcia airport was closed we were able to collect our hire car nearer to our apartment the next morning. Martins latest effort is amazing. He's organised a series of hires to cover our 6 week stay at a price I am still shaking my head at. I expected to have to pay almost double that's a lot of wine and gin money! Thanks again HCIS. you have served my whole family so well

I looked into this company on here before using them - they were so very helpful, they really deserve the five stars, even when I messed up my booking and emailed them they got straight back to me having sorted everything out - all I needed to do was print the pdf they sent me, thank you Martin and team

We have booked cars in Spain, Portugal and Italy now with Martin and he really does take all of the stress out of the process - from finding the right car at the right price to sorting out a cross border drop off at a different airport - at a v reasonable price when others quoted extortionate fees. He’s also assisted us this year with post hire issues so threatened damage charges never materialised. Highly recommend

A relaxed experience at new Murcia airport with OK RENT on July 19th.OK were friendly and efficient.On our return the shuttle driver had found my daughter's specs in the van and came all the way back to the airport check in queue to hand them over to her.Above and beyond! I was nervous about 'OK' due to some dreadful reviews at other airports but no worries at Murcia.Then there was,as usual,Martin.He had changed our original booking for us after our flights had been changed.Also,a concern about my daughter(second driver) not being present at pick up was quickly addressed.This was my third rental with Hire Cars In Spain and will not be my last.I have benefitted from a small,efficient,friendly and very contactable company.Long may it continue.

There's a reason Hire Cars in Spain is so well reviewed. The rental companies seem to do a lot of business with Martin, so they do their utmost to look after his customers. We hired a car for a week in Murcia. Both times we were at the car hire facility the people before and after us had a nightmare (having to pay extra insurance, waiting for inordinate amounts of time, arguing over credit card blocks and extra charges), but when the staff saw who we had booked through they processed us with little or no fuss. When we returned the car there was a cursory examination and we were sent on our way within ten minutes, while the family before us had been left waiting for half an hour to be dropped to the airport. While this may sound like a negative review of the car hire shop they were in fact very easy and pleasant to deal with, and I'm convinced Martin at Hire Cars in Spain is the reason. He was very quick to respond to queries and make adjustments to our booking, there were no issues with payments. We did take out extra road side assistance at the facility, but that was optional and very cheap. If you're looking at hiring a car anywhere in Spain save yourself a huge headache and book it through Martin. The very small saving you'll make by booking direct will not be worth the extra hassle that can sometimes come your way.

One bit of advice - Use your phone to film the entire exterior of the car, noting specific scratches, and film the boot, the wheel well (there was no spare wheel in the car we rented) and any stains on the interior, including the roof of the interior. If the staff see you taking such a detailed inventory they will be less inclined to try to pull a fast one!

Easy booking. Clear. Super quick support and answer to any questions. Used for first time while travelling to Santander and will definitely use again. Five star!!

We have been using HCIS since buying our place in Spain for over ten years now and have always found them to be honest and trustworthy. Occasionally we have had to speak directly to Martin or Gordon and have found them both most helpful, friendly and prepared to spend time finding us the car hire suitable to our requirements. Excellent service from Martin and team once again. We were charged for a second driver that the hire company employee insisted had been booked in advance for us (which HCIS never do). It was Sunday evening , we wanted to be on our way and so eventually gave in. On speaking to Martin about our next hire a few weeks later I mentioned this to him. He said he would contact the hire company. He did as promised and the money was very promptly refunded to us.

I would like to thank Hire Cars in Spain for advising and arranging annual car hire insurance, which is unbelievable value for money and gives one peace of mind when hiring cars in Europe with standard insurance. This is also the third time I have used them to find the right car to hire in Spain and they booked it for me this time as well.

Great service and value from Martin and the team. They were really helpful and the booking process was straightforward, they are very easy to deal with. The car was exactly as ordered, an automatic estate, and more than met our needs.

I cannot recommend Martin at Hire Cars in Spain enough. We ran into exactly the kind of problem that you hear about in the media with charges levied for damage that we did not cause. At the end of our holiday with a flight to catch and running into a brick wall at the airport car hire company office we had no option but to pay. We were able to get in touch with Martin at the airport - his team are highly responsive to messages. Martin and his team successfully assisted us in challenging the damage costs by taking up the matter with a senior manager at the care hire company. All costs were refunded within a week or so. Martin and his team were responsive to our concerns, helped us present our case and provided re-assurance and advice throughout the process.

There is no question in our minds about using HCIS - both in Spain and across Europe- the company is not confined to Spanish Car hire and in our experience provides its customers with an additional layer of protection if something goes wrong because of the connections Martin has with car hire companies abroad. If that is not enough you will also get a hire car at a competitive rate.
