This place was amazing, from the staff chatting away to us to the food, this place couldn't have given us a warmer welcome if it tried. The food was smoked perfectly, and tasted amazing. All I can say is, if you like smoked bbq, just go.

I went to Henry’s in April and it was amazing from the staff to the food. You can tell it’s proper Texas smoke. The brisket just melted in your mouth and the chicken wings were so full of flavour. Also the staff were so attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. I will definitely be back soon.

From start to finish we were made to feel at ease. The staff were friendly, attentive and knowledgable of the menu. They gave great recommendations and didn’t disappoint. The chefs cook at an immaculate standard and the prices for the quality of food is a steal. I am happy to say I will be returning to sample more of their amazing menu.

I notice in a lot of places, the food can be absolutely brilliant, but the service can be just... service. The experience at Henry's is completely different. After visiting on multiple occasions it's nice to be able to say that the staff really care, and, for a place known for its family vibe, really feel like family. I really can't fault Henry's for anything, if you need looking after, go there and you won't be dissapointed

Well worth travelling for. Roadhouse style venue with what must be the best smoked brisket in the UK. Melt in your mouth sensational. Hard to imagine better.

We pre-booked a table for 4 on a Saturday at 6pm.
We arrived and introduced ourselves at the bar (no on time one at the greeting table). We were told she would be right with us then turned back to carry on showing two other young servers how to make a cocktail. We waited, and waited stood by the bar (my sister is disabled and walks with a stick) until I called this to the same servers attention. She told us that we could go sit and wait in a corner of the bar.
Finally sested and given menus
We asked a question.
Server disappears and doesn't come back for well over 5 minutes
The rest of us placed drinks orders however, they were out of stock of one of the beers.
We placed our food order to find there were 3 things sold out. Remember, this is Saturday at 6.30 and they are fully booked for the full evening.
At this point a table that had been waiting quite some time, gave up waiting for their food and left.
After another long wait they came back to take our substitute food order.
We waited for a further 45 minutes before the food was served - not all together, my sister had to wait another full 5 minutes.
Our other drinks order hadn6arrived but I could see it sitting on the end of the bar so I got up and got it myself.
Whenever we mentioned anything to the servers we got apologies and the excuse that they were fully booked.
We ordered desserts - which were extremely disappointing. We were in for over 3 hours, most of it waiting.
By this point my husband had enough and asked to have a word with the lady we could see was in charge.
The meat WAS amazing! Tasty and juicy. They obviously need a bigger smoker to deal with the demand which is a great position to be in. If only the service could cope and they could keep up with the demand.
The owner promised to sort out our bill (she did comp us 50% for which we were very grateful) and that she would email us to offer us a free return visit to see that they could do better.
We didn't write a review until nearly 4 weeks had passed.
She never kept that promise.

This was honestly one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. We pre-booked a table for 7pm, yet when we arrived there was no one around to show us where to sit. We then waited 40 minutes before even seeing a waitress, and our first drinks didn’t arrive until an hour in. By 1 hour 20 minutes we had still only had one drink, and we were never asked if we wanted a second round, even after 1 hour 50.
The menu was completely unreliable — the allergen information didn’t match what was actually available, which is unacceptable. To make matters worse, after waiting over an hour we were told there was no brisket or ribs, meaning we had to reorder our mains from scratch.
When the food finally arrived, much of it was cold. The burger was cold, the half chicken was poor (3/10 at best), and the “chips” were essentially fried potato skins — definitely not chips. My sides never arrived at all, which by that point I was actually glad about. The only decent dishes were the hunter’s chicken and the mac and cheese, but they weren’t enough to save the meal. We didn’t finish eating until 8:45pm, nearly two hours after arriving.
The only positives were that we were given complimentary drinks at the beginning after the long wait, and they gave our dog some brisket — which, frankly, seemed to be the best-served meal of the night.
Poor organisation, awful service, inaccurate menus, missing food, and cold meals. We should have gone to Hickory’s instead, and we won’t be returning.

I’ve had the mac and cheese with fries at Henry’s a few times now, and it’s always delicious. The sauce is perfectly creamy, and the fries are seasoned just right.

We came here for the brisket as we’ve heard great things. Was not disappointed! Smokiness was unreal and just melted in your mouth. Wonderful! Would definitely have again

We came on a Saturday evening and they had the fireplace lit which made the atmosphere nice and cozy the food looked amazing we had a link sausages which had a purple ring inside and the waitress explained that all smoked meat have a purple ring the flavour it created was perfect Texas style sausage. Will definitely be back

Me and my partner went for a casual lunch and had a wonderful time! We sat in the bar area which was self service 😊 our drinks were made quickly and the girl on the bar brought them over to our table! We opted for the half yard bird and the mac daddy burger which were both incredible!!

Definitely recommend!!

Next time we'll sit in the restaurant 😋😋

We came here yesterday and sadly we ended up leaving before even ordering food or a drink .
Service was extremely slow with one staff member on at tea time.
We felt really bad for the waitress/ bar staff as she was on her own running the bar and floor . There was still about four tables waiting to give drink and food orders as well.
We waited nearly ten minutes with no service what's so ever.
We was really looking forward to it as well as we was staying close by for the night .
We ended up leaving after getting zero service , shocked as I've worked in the bar industry and we had plenty of staff on to run both the bar and floor .

Wouldn't recommend . We walked out . The managers need to sort the staffing issue out .

We found a better pub with amazing staff and amazing food who went above and beyond down the road at the eagle.

Second time at Henry's in just a few weeks—it's that good! The staff are super friendly and helpful, the food is as authentic as it gets, and the house IPA is excellent. If you're into smoked food, this place is a gem. Highly recommend!

Disappointing from the off, staff looked aghast when we walked in, felt atmosphere was uncomfortable, bar person scruffily turned out and who when asked if there was a table free said 'you’ll have to ask a waitress, i just pour drinks!' and nodded towards the end of the bar (it was not obvious who the waitress was), food was mediocre, burgers rubbery and had to wait ages as in waitresses words 'so many people have come in at once so it'll be a bit of a wait pal' 😳 is pal the correct way to address customers? Thank goodness we only had to pay 50% as offer on.

Service was poor, waited 1 hour and 40 minutes for food. When the food came, some food was missed or was wrong. No waitress/waitresses walking round asking for more drinks, so had to go to the bar and then the drinks took a long time to make a few drinks.
When trying to book the phone lines weren’t working, land line was not ringing and mobile number was not being answered. Emailed but still no response.

Welcomed by lovely waitress called Jess. Asked for a quiet table as my son is autistic and doesn't like being surrounded by people. Jess was brilliant and put a reserved sign on next table to keep it free. Lovely menu choices and reasonable prices, especially the lunch time menu.
Decor very fitting to the style of restaurant.
The only complaint I would have is that there was a not nice smell lingering. Almost as if a mop head needed changing.
Would not stop us returning.

I read the reviews and was worried. What a wonderful experience it turned out to be and to give a restaurant a chance. The food was amazing the staff were so friendly and will be going again very soon. My first visit will not be my last.

I don’t usually write reviews, but As a local family, we tried Henry’s Smokehouse in Kirkham ( Greenhalgh ) on Saturday night, the staff were really welcoming, very busy and lovely and clearly trying hard to please, out of five of us eating our food was very nice ( but only after it arrived over 1 and a half hours later !!!! 😤😤, Unfortunately my Mum and Wife had to send both meals back as the steak was too tough, the second attempt at the meals was also mostly inedible ! the drinks I ordered also arrived late after I got up 3 times to ask where they were ! and I was told they were on the way !
The main criticism from us is that unless Henry’s Smokehouse seriously steps up its game re : speed of service I can sadly guarantee yet another restaurant will close - as people ( especially locals ) simply won’t put up with this poor level of service, which is such a shame, as the table next to ours were also complaining and I heard another table complaining they had been waiting over an hour for food !!! 😤 # No going back !

Smallest piece of rump steak 🥩 ever, asked for medium/rare got very well done, chicken wings starter not bad, but for a smokehouse that can't cook steaks, then it's all downhill
