I am writing this review to express my utter distaste and disbelief at the customer service I have received from this business. I recently enquired regarding an apartment which had been advertised by your team on Rightmove and which I was very interested in renting. Therefore I called your team immediately to arrange a viewing. I managed to secure the first viewing of the apartment within the earliest time slot. Once this was arranged (as it was days in advance of the viewing appointment) I had time to think it over and didn’t want to take the chance of losing this property so I once again communicated with your team to see whether I could put an offer in without viewing the apartment as I was happy with the photos posted on the site. I was told that it is not possible and that I need to view the apartment first. After viewing the apartment I spoke to your office immediately to put in an offer and I even went over and above the asking price to secure the property. I was told my offer will be put through to the landlord and I would get an answer the following day. The following day, I had heard nothing, no communication whatsoever so once again I rang your office around midday to ask for an update. I was told the person dealing with it was not in that morning which is why there is a delay but he would get back to me in the afternoon. There was still no communication. I called the office again at around 3:30pm for an update after the flat status had miraculously changed to ‘let agreed’ online. I was then informed that the status was updated to stop further enquiries but they’ve not come to a decision yet but someone will call me back by the end of day (6pm). I can’t help but think that this is not true as every time I communicated it seemed like I was bothering them and was an inconvenience asking for an update on my offer when I was promised a call that day. All I wanted was an update! Fast forward to 5:30pm I call again and was told that a message has been passed for someone to call me back urgently before 6pm. I didn’t receive any call, as expected. The following morning I hoped someone would get back to me first thing having passed the message the following evening… but no call once again. I then called up at 10:45am to be told “We’ve just taken a holding deposit and unfortunately the landlord did not choose you. We were actually about to call you right now!” (Hmm, sure). I wasn’t given any other information and the lady on the phone rushed to end the call but said they would call me back if anything changes. In my humble opinion, they had already earmarked this property for somebody else prior to the viewings. After having to call up 4 times for an update I don’t believe anyone will contact me. I have provided my phone number and email also but I seem to be ignored. I work in a very similar industry and I understand things can get busy, however ignoring someone for over 24 hours and then to be bluntly told their application did not go through is quite rude and disrespectful. Total waste of time and terrible communication. Avoid this letting agency at all costs.

Kevin, from Selsey branch was so friendly at first but when I chose to go elsewhere due to massively better rates I got an unpleasant and upsetting reply. I complained to the CEO and had an apology from him, not Kevin of course but as a result it appears I've been 'blacklisted'. Up to the point of complaint I had received multiple properties to view with Henry Adams but nothing since. This appears malicious and extremely unprofessional.
Please don't use Henry Adams in Selsey.

Alex Bush was fantastic in helping us find our home at short notice, and was so kind, a pleasure to work with. He answered questions quickly and was a brilliant agent. Thank you so much for all of your help in helping us find our home.

I rang the Emsworth office enquiring about a property to rent the property had been let but the agent was completely disinterested and simply said to register . No enquiry about what am looking for or any other offer of assistance. Very poor first impression suggests that they get so much business they don't have to bother being polite or helpful !!!

These 5-star reviews are highly suspicious- the 1-star reviews seem pretty accurate though, at least from our experience.

I am using Henry Adams Estate Agents Lettings Department in Storrington to manage a property and my experience has been very very good.

They have been extremely professional and thorough from advertising the property promptly and accurately, to doing viewings and helping me to find a great tenant quickly.

On every occasion that I have liaised with them they have been good at communication, professional, and very reliable. I believe they provide a great service and good value for money.

They always responded to my questions promptly and are quick to help the tenant if there are any questions or issues. Nothing has been too much trouble.I would highly recommended them and the Lettings team in Storrington.

I would like to praise and recommend HENRY ADAMS STORRINGTON LETTINGS. Alex Bush especially was extremely helpful from the onset, explaining procedures and helping with any queries we had. He made us feel confident that we would find a letting which would enable us to sell our house. Alex made the process easy to understand and kept us informed of progress at all times. He was a delight to deal with and I would highly recommend Alex at Henry Adams if you wish to rent.

Henry Adams Chichester. Our rental process was very professionally facilitated by Charlie Salter who was fast, efficient, superbly organised and explained all the technical stages of E-signing in plain English. This was the best and most stress-free rental process we have EVER experienced and everyone we spoke to at Henry Adams was delightful. They work as a seamless team and left no questions unanswered.
Charlie Salter is a first class agent and we cannot thank him enough for his excellent work!

Efficient, friendly and professional.
In particular Michelle Tattersall (Bognor Regis branch ) who always has a welcoming smile and aims to help .

They seem really good at first, but then as weeks and months go by, you notice malicious and incompetent behaviour.
They never seem to get my email correct, especially upon needing my deposit back. They visit your flat while you’re away despite you asking them not to (illegal), and when you visit the office, you see why they are less diligent. Fortunately I won’t have to use these again. Disappointed basically.

Great experience with the Petersfield branch. The agent Siobhan Merrett was extremely professional. I found her refreshingly honest in an industry that has a reputation for hyperbole.
Mrs Merrett thoroughly explained the letting process and corresponded with me at every turn. I felt that my property was safe in her hands and she quickly found a suitable tenant.
I would highly recommend working with her.

What a fantastic company! After almost losing all hope with many letting agents, I had the pleasure of dealing with Henry Adams. From start to finish Alex was fantastic. He was polite and knowledgeable and always did what he said he would. Everyone else in the office was just as lovely and helpful. Amazing service and I’d use them and recommend them again.

We initially dealt with Alex from the Storrington branch, he was exactly what you would hope for, very polite and courteous, and he had a good knowledge of the property, landlord and surrounding area. Alex was more than happy to answer our endless questions during the process and kept us informed on the progress of our application. An utterly nice young man. 

We have also met and spoken to a number of other members of the team including Emma and James who have helped us with questions and some requests for permission which they have facilitated with the landlord. The polite and friendly disposition is shared by the whole team. 

I would recommend Henry Adams to anyone, landlord or tenant, buyer or seller, you will be in safe hands.
