The Practical Class was extremely informative and well conducted. The session was hands-on and easy to understand, which helped build confidence in handling real-life emergency situations. The instructor explained each step clearly and ensured that every student got a chance to practice. The demonstrations were practical, engaging, and very useful. The Autism Awareness course

Overcharging
This comany charge my company for online courses, then charge me 18 pounds (small fee for admin they say) for an electronic certificate for my CPD. Then more money for practical. Also the certificate is available for 30 days so if not download you will have to pay again for something that is paid already. So the 18 pounds is NOT for the certificate in an email the 18 pounds is for a link that expired in 30 days. Absurd!!!

We note your comments regarding the certificate cost, so it’s important to clarify this first. The £18 charge you’ve referenced does not relate to accessing the training itself. As you stated, the training was arranged and paid for by your agency rather than by you personally. The £18 applies because the training was not self-funded and represents a reimbursement back to the client account once the training had been completed and the certificate issued.
Once issued, the certificate is yours to keep and can be used to support work with other agencies. Because the certificate is portable and continues to hold professional value beyond the original placement, agencies do not typically fund unlimited ongoing access where the qualification can then be used elsewhere. The reimbursement reflects that distinction fairly.
It’s also important to clarify that you are not required to pay repeatedly to access your certificate. Download links provided via the portal expire after 30 days as a deliberate security control. This is in place to protect personal data, prevent certificates being accessed via forwarded or shared links, and reduce the risk of unauthorised access to employment-grade documents. Time-limited links ensure certificates are only accessed by the intended recipient and remain compliant with data protection and information security standards. If access is needed again after this period, a new secure link can be requested directly via the portal at no additional cost.
We also note your comments suggesting that further charges apply for practical training. To be absolutely clear, we are a private training provider, not an NHS service, and practical training cannot be delivered free of charge. Live, in-person practical training involves qualified instructors, formal assessment, suitable facilities, specialist equipment, and strict compliance with statutory safety and governance standards. These are real, unavoidable costs. Expecting practical training of this nature to be provided without charge is simply not realistic, safe, compliant, or a viable business model for any private training provider.
We appreciate you taking the time to raise your concerns. The vast majority of clients and candidates understand how accredited practical training is delivered and the costs involved, and we’re always happy to explain this where it isn’t immediately clear. We remain confident that our pricing and access arrangements are transparent, proportionate, and among the most cost-effective available in the market.

I completed my CSTF training with Direct Training Academy and had a very positive experience. The course was well organised and easy to understand. The tutor explained all topics very well, clearly, and patiently, which made the session easy to follow and engaging. All mandatory healthcare topics were covered properly in a professional learning environment.
The booking process was smooth, and the staff were helpful throughout. The training was very useful for healthcare work Overall, I am very satisfied with the CSTF training and would highly recommend Direct Training Academy.

Trainer was impatient
Whilst the training covered the practical aspect of the online theory, the trainer was argumentative and impatient with individuals who may have not remembered something or who struggled. After seamlessly completing the practicals I mentioned I did not remember one part of the paediatric cpr and he accused me of not listening to him during the training and became quite loud and spoke to a few individuals in a disrespectful manner. In the future trainers should remember they are representing an organization and their behaviour should be warm, welcoming and supportive in a learning environment. I have done trainings before with this organization with no problems so I hope this was a one of incident.

A small number of candidates did note that the trainer has a naturally jokey, informal manner and is from Glasgow, and one commented that they could understand how this style may have been interpreted differently by some individuals.
While our review did not identify any issues with the trainer’s conduct, we recognise that individual experiences can vary and are genuinely sorry that this session did not meet your expectations. Our safeguarding courses are aligned to the Core Skills Training Framework (CSTF) and are designed to meet nationally recognised safeguarding standards. The content, including terminology and multi-agency processes, is required to ensure learners understand how safeguarding concerns are managed in practice, even if they are not personally involved in every stage.
The level of safeguarding training allocated to a learner is determined by the client or placement organisation, often based on role requirements or local trust expectations. We do not select the course level on behalf of individual learners, and this decision sits outside of our control.
We appreciate that for some professionals, particularly those with prior experience, elements of the course may feel more detailed than expected. However, the depth of content is intentional to ensure consistency, compliance, and patient safety across a wide range of clinical settings.
This feedback is noted, and we continue to review our courses regularly alongside the overwhelmingly positive feedback we receive to ensure they remain clear, relevant, and compliant with national standards. #TeamHB!

My training in BLS
My training in BLS, Manual Handling, Choking, and Epipen use was highly effective. David, the instructor, was patient and clear, ensuring all procedures and safety protocols were well understood. I especially appreciated learning how to use an Epipen, which was new for me, as my role with neonates typically doesn’t require it. The company’s comprehensive approach to emergency training is commendable.
