I had to find a staff member to assist me rather than myself being approached.

I love using Haymes Paint however I have been extremely disappointed with the lack of knowledge at one of the Haymes stores. I asked for advice on what to use for external weatherboards. I was told Solarshield Exterior was the best product. Firstly, one of the team members could not calculate how many 15 litre containers I needed - at one point he suggested 20!!! It's a 10m x 16m weather board house!! I would need a truck to cart around 20 x 15 litres of paint and would be able to paint 5 houses. Secondly, at the counter, I then asked another staff member if I should go Matt or Low Sheen and was advised Matt. The paint was quite thick so after painting half a wall I checked to see how I could slightly thin it. This is when I read that Matt is NOT TO BE USED for Weatherboards. Given I could have painted the whole house in the wrong paint I was extremely upset. The only person who stepped up and fixed this disaster was Jan from your head office. Jan was AMAZING and given her knowledge should be training all of your store staff. One of your sales people was meant to follow up and call me - I'm still waiting. How can you have people selling paint who don't know 1.) how to calculate how much paint is needed based on size and 2.) have no knowledge as to what they are selling? This is a massive failure in your training and undermines the reputation of your brand as 'experts' in paint.

I wanted to paint the floor of my Garage a bright blue colour. When I first approached an assistant he was quite taken back by my selection of colour. However I persisted and painted the 6m x 6m shed floor and it looks fantastic (my opinion). The paint shines a little more than I expected and has drawn many positive comments from visitors. Although not convinced that my colour selection was appropriate, the assistant provided excellent advice on how to prepare the floor and then to apply the paint. The price was very reasonable and as I did the job myself I save many hundreds of dollars when compared with a professional estimate that I had obtained. I'm very happy.

I'm a first time user of Haymes Paint and have just completed a complex repaint at home, only one room but with lots of heritage detail. I couldn't be more impressed. Excellent products and outstanding service at the Hobart store. The service guy there wasn't satisfied with a batch of flat plastic they'd had delivered and refused to sell me any paint until after he'd opened more than a dozen 10 litre buckets to find a satisfactory product. I was then offered a discount for the extra time taken. Very impressive and much appreciated. I will certainly choose Haymes for my next job.

Customer service is on point & in shop purchases as well

I have used Haymes Paint to paint the inside (walls, ceilings, doors, window and door frames) of my house. Apart from the expert advise and great service they were so convenient to deal with during lockdown. All my purchases were on file so that it was easy to top up when I ran out, and easy contactless pickup from their shop in Eltham.
And then I have not even mention their superior paint quality in comparison to some of the other better known brands. That was the reason I switched to Haymes paint in the first place. When you paint lighter colours over darker and brighter colours you really need a good paint, otherwise you will have to add coat after coatto cover the old colours. With Haymes we used two coats everywhere.

The friendliness and service is excellent

We bought paint and wood filler putty.
Good colour range and Bunnings didn't have the wood filler putty we needed.
And they gave us a discount card even though we'd only bought a couple of products, so that was nice

Have used these products for many years with excellent results.
Friendly knowledgeable staff with helpful recommendations on all projects.
