I'm so glad to have found Hamilton’s Removals for a last minute move for my elderly parents. House moving is stressful enough but having to ring round for quotes a week before a house move that might not happen was a nightmare. From my first point of contact everyone was amazing and first class customer service. My fear was a last minute delay would see me cancelling and still face paying almost the full cost due to only 24hr notice time.Hamilton’s allowed me to receive a quote, book and pay a deposit which would be used if I had to rebook a different date. From the time the removal guys arrived they made it as stress free as possible and even took the time and effort to make sure they loaded some of my mother’s more smaller garden statues, something I wasn't expecting, they treated my elderly parents slightly mismatched furniture, bits and bobs with the upmost respect which meant so much to us.
The quote I received from Hamilton’s was very reasonable for the service I received, it was only slightly more than a quote I had received from Any Van,but it was defiantly worth the little extra for the piece of mind they offerd me.So thank you Hamilton’s and a big thank you to your staff

I'm so glad I'm not the only one that is trying to fight my case with this company, I only gave 1 star so could write a review. What an absolute shambles, I've told everyone to avoid them. Packed my house up, the removal men requested me on social media whilst in my house! Very unprofessional then left for storage. Ended up spending so much money being stored, safely I thought for 2 months. When it came to getting it back it really was the most horrific experience. Firstly they couldn't deliver for 2 weeks so myself and children had nothing, sleeping on the floor. Due to current situations may not have been totally at fault but had no empathy for the situation, they had there money. They arrived on school run time, I said please put things in lounge and I will be back to assist. All the packed boxes were piled to the ceiling in lounge and all my furniture was shoved in the garage, sofas, tables everything. Now that makes no sense to me. A wardrobe THEY took apart wasn't put back together as they could not find the screws!! I'm a single mum and couldn't move boxes or furniture around, they just said they were late for school runs etc and had to go. They left me in a total shambles, when I looked around they had broken pictures and mirrors that left my house packed and came back unpacked?? A wooden unit had its leg broken, headboard ripped, and they had stacked my furniture in such a way that they had completely snapped the legs off my dining table!!!!!!!! Eventually took it back to be "restored" got it back 6 weeks later, with a shocking scratch on the top and the leg still falling off! I paid insurance for what? I'm still trying to claim the money which is harder than you think!!! Spent so much money with them and making sure all my friends know to avoid. Total cowboy company and I see I'm not the only unhappy customer.

Thought we was getting a professional company but no. You have left us in so much mess, broken freezer that delivery men broke , filthy carpets as you didn't even put down carpet protection ( new carpets as well). Rooms packed to ceiling so now can't find anything. And to top it all you won't do anything to help us. After paying you £7000 for a move really thought we was getting professionals.

Moved from Norwich to near Inverness. Move included relocating a classic car. Both removal and car relocation went perfectly. I would especially like to pay thanks to the removal men Terry and Lloyd

We were recommended Hamiltons by our estate agent who had used them personally to move when we urgently needed a company to help us move within 2 weeks, despite not having a fixed completion date. We were about 90% sure of the date (+/-2 days) and needed to get a company booked in asap. The company we were originally going to use, needed a non-refundable deposit and would have charge a cancellation fee if we had to move the date. Hamiltons did not charge us either of these things and were pretty flexible on us waiting to confirm our move date which we were really grateful for. The price was also marginally cheaper than our original company too!

I spoke with Jay and Jessica who were friendly, professional and generally just nice humans to deal with who I could always get hold of on the phone!

Overall our move from Cambridge to Surrey went very smoothly with no hassle whatsoever. The guys who packed and moved our stuff were professional, efficient and friendly. Hamiltons even collected all our boxes once we had unpacked for recycling which was super handy!

I would use Hamiltons again without hesitation if we were to move again. Highly recommend!

Although the staff that you speak to at Hamiltons are helpful and personable, the experience of the actual packing and delivery is so poor. I paid a lot of money to Hamiltons, and was far from satisfied with what I got for it. For example, the packers were unprofessional (except for one) - china packed flat, fine art bundled loosely with 'fragile' slapped across it. One packer tried to blackmail me into giving her more money to pack my daughter's art supplies! On the receiving end, I ended up doing almost all of the unwrapping of furniture, the labeled boxes were put in the wrong rooms, the furniture was not placed where it should be. An exhausting nightmare and 'no response' regarding these issues from Hamiltons. I could not in good conscience recommend this company to anyone.

A quick edit to add here: furniture was taken apart that didn't need to be taken apart, and wasn't put back together, 'parts' in the parts box were unlabelled and some key screws for an Eames sofa are missing entirely (why was the sofa disassembled in the first place? Nearly £100 to replace these screws...Eames opportunism contributes to this unpleasant experience), the workman arrived at noon and stayed until 4 on the first day, although the shipment was close to a full container of household goods, and shovelled things into the house with no care whatsoever as to where boxes and furniture were supposed to go...then left with everything in disarray. They should have devoted a proper full day this first day. They arrived three hours late the following day, stuck around for a few hours then left again with the job far from done. It took three weeks of back breaking work, and endless lifting (I'm a 5 feet tall woman) just to get to the point where the workman should have left it. A bitter experience...and after a total of 11 international moves in my life, this was truly the worst.

It was a pleasure to work with Hamiltons removals. The service was professional, the amount of information received just right - not too much, not too little - and your staff were excellent. I will certainly recommend your services to my friends and contacts here in Germany and the UK.

The Hamilton's crew were absolutely fantastic! They were hard working, polite, calm & made the day go smoothly & stress free! Even managed a few laughs, could not fault them & would definitely recommend!

Extremely good reception team, estimator and accounts department. Very prompt at collecting boxes. Just a little disappointed with the fact I had to call the team back to collect things which got left behind. Just a little too much haste and not enough listening.

We moved from UK, West London to just outside Paris. I guess on the face of it, this was quite a straightforward job but pretty stressful for us. We had lots of delays on the UK side with selling our house and Hamiltons were very understanding and accommodating, changing the date on 3 occasions. When it finally happened the UK removal guys were excellent and worked so hard. We had a lot of heavy furniture some of which left through an upstairs window. On the French side two guys turned up on a Saturday morning and by lunchtime 1pm we were all done.
I thoroughly recommend using them.

They did what we agreed. The price was reasonable. Their men were polite, helpful and competent. What more do I need? Thank you.

Our move with Hamiltons was, quite frankly, a nightmare. The packers turned up late (9.30), played heavy metal music at full pelt on their radio, and clearly had no idea how to pack things, wrapping some things way too much (jigsaw puzzles), and other things hardly at all (mirrors, antique porcelain). They then left at 4pm, barely having started, with one day to go until the move, meaning that our stress levels were catastrophic and the rest of the packing was completed by an augmented team on the last day in something of a blind panic, the consequences of which became all too clear later. They brought things away from the old house which should have stayed there - the instructions for the bath, the toothbrush holder mug (but not the holder), a glass shelf from a fitted unit. The breakages we discovered at the other end are too many to list but here are just a few: an antique brass jug with a dent in the side: an antique triple mirror with the feet broken off: a chest with the handle torn off (thoughtfully placed inside): a rare antique porcelain figurine of a lady painting, she now has no thumb or paintbrushes: an antique (17th century) chest now covered in scratches. Some of these things are very valuable, and others not so valuable, but it's not the point: they all matter to US and were treated with no care at all by Hamiltons, despite their original promises. We did complain at the time and received a limp bunch of flowers and a half hearted apology. We are so disappointed, having heard great things about Hamiltons, but it turned out that they were simply not up to the job. If you value your possessions, AVOID.

Hamiltons provide an outstanding service. They are highly skilled and professional, user friendly and excellent value for money. From beginning to end it could not have been better.

Excellent service start to finish. Office staff brilliant, removal team fantastic. Couldn’t have asked for better service. Highly recommended.

Easy to arrange, helpful staff, drivers courteous and careful, arrived on time, no mess no fuss.
