Greers gears helped me pass my test, I learned when I first turned 17 in a manual car after failing my first test I stop learning I eventually decided to start again with an automatic car, I got my first lesson as a Christmas gift and went out with Chris straight away he told me I could drive and we should get my test booked, he gave me the confidence in my driving and never judged me when I made a mistake, I couldn’t of passed without the help and support I received from greers gears and would recommended them to anyone who is wanting to learn to drive they take the time to get to know you and your learning styles.

I have no hesitation providing my review, this company goes above and beyond to assist you in your learning and examination journey. From my first contact with Trisha, who is gold, she took the time to understand my requirements and worked to provide a learning plan and book my test date. Thank you so much Trisha!

Chris is honestly some guy, from start to finish he made me wonder why I put off driving for so long. He had everything in place to help me through the stress and anxiety of learning to drive. Greer’s were recommended to me by a friend, and now know why. Can’t thank the team enough

One star doesn’t cut it.
My wife took lessons with Chris, who was often late for pick ups, made her stop during lessons so he could “nip to the shops”! However worst of all went missing after she was involved in a shunt from another driver whilst on a lesson at a junction. Don’t get me wrong at the time he checked to see if she was ok, dealt with the driver who was at fault obtaining correct documentation etc. however never turned up for any lessons after this incident & never returned any calls!
Fortunately my wife is strong minded, & continued her lessons with a more pleasant driving instructor from a rival company, & she has since passed her test. No thanks in part to the treatment she received from this company!

I would highly recommend anyone who wishes to take up some driving lessons with Greers Gears Driving School. I had struggled to pass my driving test 3 times when I stayed in Glasgow over 10 years ago!! When I had came down to South Ayrshire I decided to take up driving lessons again. Was introduced to my driving instructor - Chris Grear. I passed my driving test through Chris around 3 years ago. An outstanding driving instructor and an outstanding driving school.

I put off learning to drive for several years due to anxiety, but from my very first lesson Fiona put me at ease and helped me grow more confident on the road. Lessons were always fun with new skills introduced naturally over time, and practice covered a wide variety of routes in the area which helped me prepare for my test. With Fiona's help I managed to pass my practical test first time today. Would highly recommend Greer's Gears for any new learners, particularly if like me you've been a bit nervous about the idea of learning to drive. Huge thanks especially to Fiona for being an amazing instructor and also to Trish for helping me organise my lessons in the first place and being easy to contact regarding payments and the app.

Had Fiona as my instructor and I passed my test first time this morning. I had bad driving anxiety before and gave up on learning to drive I took a chance and took done lessons with Fiona. Fiona was very supportive and gave great advice and made me feel comfortable and confident in the car. I would highly recommend and will be recommending this to others. :)

My daughter was taught by Fiona and she passed her test this morning, Fiona was an excellent instructor, my daughter felt at ease and always gave amazing advice while learning. Learning to drive with Chris at Greer’s Gears is an experience I won’t forget, and for all the right reasons. He was the consummate professional - quick to rectify my errors in a manner which was always warm and encouraging. Patient. Kind. Genuine. Everything an educator should be. Also glad to have met him on a personal level, someone you can have a lovely chat with while you learn! A 10/10 learning experience and I was thrilled to have passed my driving test first time. After my 17th birthday I started taking driving lessons and didn’t have a great bond with my instructor. I searched for months to find the right place to help build my confidence back up and Wayne did exactly that. He never made any question feel silly to ask and always gave a great answer with examples to help put these into real life situations. Wayne always went the extra mile and i will forever be thankful for him and his work. Wayne is so friendly and made me so comfortable, lessons were so enjoyable and had many laughs, as much as i’m glad i’ve passed, i’ll miss it. Thank you Wayne & Greers Gears

My experience with Greer's Gears was Fanta as it was smooth from start to finish including extending my rental for a week was pleasant. Chris was friendly and helpful at every stage and made the whole experience pleasant.

Excellent company to work with, called the day I needed the car and by the night it was delivered. Car was well looked after and all my pupils enjoyed it. Reasonably priced and excellent customer service would recommend to any instructor who needs a car for hire. This company allowed me to continue to do my job while my car was stuck in a garage

I had Angela as my driving instructor and I couldn’t recommend her enough. She helped me feel comfortable behind the wheel from my very 1st lesson and was very patient with me in allowing me to learn at my own pace and not rushing me. Thanks for everything Angela and hopefully see you in the roads soon 😃

Brilliant instructor!

I had Angela as my instructor and she is an asset to greers gears! She made me feel so at ease during my driving lessons and nothing was ever a problem for her! From laughing our heads off to crying together once I passed my test she really made me feel confident within my driving and no question was a silly question with her!

I would take this opportunity to thank Chris for organising, teaching and guiding me the correct way to drive and things needed to pass the test. Being a doctor, I have to drive to three different hospital in Ayrshire and my International permit was valid until February. This was the biggest task for me to achieve. Almost everyone told me they are fully booked until January and some never responded back .I approached Chris in September and he responded promptly and got me booked for November and then I booked practical test in December. And I passed with two minors!I am so glad I did it in first attempt and before my international licence expiry. Thanks to Trisha who arranged and managed everything.
