I always use Greenhalghs when I need to send a gift to a friend or family member. I recently sent some school cakes and crumpet loaf and they absolutely adored them! A great delivery thank you!

Bought 8 Lancashire Pasties online...oh dear . What an expensive mistake!
Besides being very small, the filling is mainly mashed potato (probably instant mash) with a hint of mince and veg.
Avoid like the plague...
Put them in freezer for when I get desperate...

Expensive nad now mainly pastry with minimal filling. No wonder so many or now choosing carrs instead. The amount of pastry is ridiculous. Last time I ever go to greenhaulghs.

Party pies full of filling and very tasty too.

£3.45 for a cup of tea to take out, your a rip off. This was in Bolton.

I ordered a buffet for 25 for my Mum's Memorial. It was incredible and suited the location in my Mum's Care Home. It was quality food and enjoyed by all who attended, Thank You, also to the Staff at Brackley St Farnworth, who were brilliant when collecting the food.

I've ordered twice from here now and the food has been great.

I've had quite a few other things and they have been really good, sweet desserts are also very good.

Wherever there’s a Greehalghls there will be a Galloways or Greggs near Greenhalgha are far too expensive these days. They have priced themselves out of the market. Due to greed. Stop wasting your hard earned money and try the alternatives.

Absolutely rubbish, can’t deliver my order, known all day and never contacted me, can’t refund me, as lady at customer service doesn’t do this???? Stated it will be delivered tomorrow when I’m away for a week???? STAY AWAY

On christmas eve, me and my mum went to the Greenhalghs in Stockport to pick up her order of pies for christmas. That night my mum ate one of the cranberry and turkey pies, when she started to eat it she commented that it tasted salty. By the very early hours of christmas day, my mum was really unwell with food poisoning. We know that it was the cranberry and turkey pie which caused it, because that is the only thing which my mum ate that day, that neither me or my dad did. It ruined our christmas day, because we had to cancel our plans and today (boxing day) my mum is still not well with her stomach. If these pies are meant to be freshly made, then how has this managed to occur?! Having had these pies for many years, this will be the last time that we use Greenhalghs for anything. Just hope that not too many other people will have become ill over christmas due to the cranberry and turkey pies.

Online order of over £40 butter pies, frozen immediately on delivery but on defrosting over a month later the bottom of the pies were moldy. Customer service insist they only send fresh pies and as it was long after delivery they didn't want to know. I explained I wasn't looking for any refund on the order but the pies were moldy and it shouldnt happen. It's concerning they wouldn't check the batches, want to see the photos, or check how this might have happened, insisting it was my fault. Their online contact form doesn't work so they may be missing issues. Obviously won't be buying from them again.

I went to bromley Cross for some lunch with my work colleague, to be insulted by a member of your staff, when I was curious how much the sandwich was , he replied if you need to ask you should not be in this bakery , the lad had a real bad attitude to our custom , will not be going again

I was very disappointed today when we called into the Ormskirk branch. I was served by a young man who I felt was quite rude to me. I bought two Halloween biscuits and paid by card. The card reader machine wouldn't pick up my card straightaway and I didn't have my glasses on so couldn't see the message on the screen. I asked if it had gone through yet as there was no indication from the card reader or him (and the till is at the opposite end of the counter to the card reader for some reason probably to do with WiFi signals). Rather than just telling me that it had gone through or politely coming over to read the card reader screen, he actually said in a sarcastic tone 'I don't know, I can't see it from here'. How I kept my cool I don't know. We were all flabbergasted to be honest. What a rude response. I'm guessing he was new to the job as he clearly has no customer services skills at all. He then leant casually back against the shelving behind the counter as he said 'see you again'. I replied 'doubt it' as we left. He basically humiliated me in front of the other customer who was waiting. I won't be using Greenhalgh's again.

Pity as the older lady who was working in there at the time wouldn't have spoken to me like this.

I have also sent this comment to the Greenhalgh 'contact us' form in their website.

I have been a loyal customer for many years. Not any more. I have had numerous deliveries and all arrived on time and with very little damage.
My last delivery was a disaster. I received no tracking information at all. Previously DPD or the Post Office were excellent.
I actually contacted Greenhalghs to ask if my delivery was going to arrive. I was assured that delivery could happen up to 18:00. It didn’t. It arrived the following day. The box was open. Since there were meat and dairy products in the box I refused to accept it. I had no way of knowing how it had been stored. I contacted Greenhalghs immediately and was told sorry and someone would contact me. They didn’t. I phoned them and was told that according to their terms and conditions I should have accepted the box. The attitude of the customer service department was aggressive and dismissive. No refund or apology. I will never use this company again.

Very happy ! Moved to Berkshire from Wigan in the late 70's. Regular 400 mile round trips for Greenhalghs meat & potato pies and puff pasties for me and mum. Just received my first delivery of puff pasties via eBay and me and my 87 year old mum very happy. Brilliant packaging, ice pack etc. Fresh and once warmed in oven absolutely lush ! Thank you Greenhalghs, i'll definitely be ordering again, you're the best !! 👍

Recently tried their beef steak pie in Chorley for the first time. It was very expensive and contained hardly any meat. It should be called a gravy pie as that's what it mainly consisted of. I won't be returning

I ordered a birthday cake for my daughter's 2nd birthday. When cutting the cake it completely crumbled inside and I was only able to find a small amount of servable cake. Most of it had to be thrown in the bin as it had no structure to it.
On reporting this to Greenhalgh's they offered to take the remaining cake back for testing. They later stated there was no problem found with the cake. I was offered a £10 gift voucher to compensate although I spent £56 on this cake and sent back a decent chunk for testing which means that I am now still out of pocket.

I would not recommend anyone buying a birthday cake from Greenhalgh's. I had a supermarket bought cake last year which was 100x better and much cheaper.

For such a 'successful' company their customer service is lacking and I will be reporting my experience to family and friends who will not be shopping at Greenhalgh's again.

Spent over £40 on a delivery. £6.99 of this on p&p to Oxford
Such poor packaging resulted in cakes completed damaged/bashed in.
6 pasties at room temperature as the insulated bag was open thus offered no insulation at all in during a heat wave and as they didn't arrive until mid afternoon, no idea how long they had been at this temperature.
The customer services team completely disregarded my concerns and sent an insulting partial refund only for the cakes.
Anyone from Bolton will know how Greenhalges have over inflated their prices for ultimately what are cheap products but this special treat for family was totally ruined by this and my nostalgic fondness for food from my home town gone the same way as the spoilt goods... in the trash!
Appalled.

Just been into the greenhalghs store in bury. My partner ordered two pizza slices but the pizza oven wasn’t quite warm enough. So we paid and said we would come back in five minutes after we had been to Costa. We were a little bit longer than expected and was just about to go back when one of the ladies came to us and dropped the pizza slices off. Going above and beyond. Absolutely excellent service and very kind. Thank you so much ladies
