Next came a 90-minute conversation with Bethany. During this time, we discussed my current career, my accomplishments, and my career goals. It was a real conversation and I felt Bethany was not only using the time to get the information she needed, but also used it to get a feel of who I am. I have had documents prepared for me by other companies and the results never felt like me. Bethany was so thorough and patient with my questions. She was also very motivating. Worth every penny and even more! I knew my resume needed help from a professional resume writer, but I didn't know where to begin or how to choose a company. GRF popped into my LinkedIn feed. So, I began reading the articles and materials from the website. The Resume Quiz was quite helpful and spurred me on to think about my career in terms of accomplishments as well as soft skills I possessed, instead of tasks I performed in my various roles. I actually did stuff that mattered! However, rewriting my resume and a cover letter, were still dreaded tasks for me. Before becoming a client of GRF, I made the decision to shift my career trajectory (horizontal move) but struggled with how to highlight relevant professional experiences from my current role that lend themselves to the horizontal move I'm aiming to make. Jessica Coppens did a fantastic job of pushing me outside of my comfort zone to best showcase the important work I've done. She took the time to better understand my somewhat nuanced situation, asked the right probing questions, and then created an impactful (and very aesthetically pleasing) resume that really positions me as a viable candidate for the type of role I'm seeking. I should also mention, all of this was accomplished in a few short weeks, which included 2 rounds of review/revision. The package I purchased also included a step-by-step guide for updating my LinkedIn profile with key information from the resume, as well as a cover letter that was far more concise and impactful than something I could've written on my own.
