Good communication and expertise.

As a former employee of Goththorne Solicitors, I cannot recommend this firm. After just three weeks, I left due to a toxic culture. Vishal, a partner, was openly hostile and used fear to control the team. Zoe, the HR manager, acted as an authority figure but lacked real knowledge. Even a minor typo, like misspelling ‘Tottenham,’ triggered disproportionate hostility. They also conduct biased client risk assessments, charging international clients inflated fees. It was a horrible place to work, and I urge others to avoid.

When i got introduced to Gough Thorne LLp , it was slow from start because i change the house i wanted to purchase to another one so its was bit longer than expected to exchange .All the staffs are very professional .Manraj was the star of the show.He helped me by emailing all necesssary documents and he made the process straightforward .Manraj responded with all my questions swiftly.I will be back for my next investment project by God's willing .

Everything was explained clearly so I knew what to expect. All staff were polite, helpful, & nothing was too much trouble. I was kept up to date every step of the way.
I can highly recommend this company & would use again if the need requires me to.

I've given 5 Stars purely on Zahirah Hanif, otherwise it would be 3 stars. She came into save the day with my purchase on the last few months or so. I wish I was working with her the whole time. Before Zahirah, Jennifer's Team was slow! No chasing, no way of getting hold of anyone. Would send emails and they wouldn't reply. They only replied if I sent a strongly worded email. Would've liked to have been explained my charges at the beginning of the process better too. As a first time buyer I was unsure of the entire process and when my bill came through upon completion it was miles higher than I had anticipated. Lots of the charges should've been added on there as a leasehold purchase from the beginning. Zahirah on the other hand was proactive and her communication was amazing and professional. Thanks Zahirah you really got it over the finish line.

We used Jennifer’s team at Gough Thorne for our recent house purchase.

Buying our home should have been an exciting experience, but unfortunately the process felt far more stressful than it needed to be.

Throughout the transaction we experienced ongoing communication issues. There were several periods where we had to request updates, and on one occasion we discovered that documents had been sent to an incorrectly spelt email address, meaning we had not received important information. Although some emails were later forwarded, we were never fully confident that we had received everything, and we have still not received a complete file of our documents despite requesting this prior to completion.

From our side, we were prompt in returning paperwork and providing information. At the beginning we understood that conveyancing can take time; however, it gradually became clear that there were communication and organisational issues. Discovering the incorrect email address explained why certain documents had gone missing, but the lack of acknowledgment or apology made it difficult to feel reassured.

There were also errors in documentation, including incorrect details in legal paperwork and a Stamp Duty calculation that we had to question. Understandably, this caused anxiety at an already significant financial moment.

In terms of fees, the final bill was noticeably higher than the original estimate, with additional charges that had not been clearly highlighted to us. When we later requested a remortgage quote, this was also significantly higher than expected. Although we raised concerns about fee transparency and service during the process, we did not feel these concerns were fully acknowledged.

We appreciate that conveyancing can be complex and that delays can occur, but we had hoped for clearer communication, greater accuracy, and more reassurance throughout.

We chose the firm based on a positive recommendation from our neighbour; however, our experience with this team did not meet our expectations, and we would not use the firm again.

Sydney was lovely; despite my many calls to check on progress she managed the process so well.
I liked the personal interaction, I know I could have used the online service but it just isn't the same.
