Go Ask A Local Anmeldelser

Our guide for Sardinia, Simone Scalas, was excellent. Not only had he figured out who we were in terms of our preferences from the questionnaire, he was able to tailor a do-able itinerary which included most of what we would have liked. His extraordinary in-depth knowledge of roads and restaurants and beaches and sites to see gave us textured detail that would have been impossible for us to get on our own. He saved us hours of research and gave us the peace of mind that his plan would make the trip unforgettable.

Our Go Ask A Local guide, Chris from the UK, was really helpful with tips on places to go and how to get around. He tailored these ideas to our interests which was great. I would recommend this service

Totally recomendable. Trip to Iceland now is all together thank you ;))

Andres was terrific in providing comprehensive information about our upcoming trip to Iceland. He made great suggestions about a couple of changes in accommodations that we had scheduled, and had numerous ideas for hikes, special day trips, and a variety of other stuff that we wouldn't have found in a guide book. Super helpful! And a very nice guy.

Our travel advisor Ana Sophia was excellent. She covered all of our questions and logistics for our Lisbon/ Porto trip. She created an itinerary to work with. Her suggestions and local knowledge were crucial. This consult was well worth the investment.

Our guide Lenor did an incredible job with us. We had given a long list of requirements. Lenor had thoroughly researched each one and given recommendations based on her own research and also experience. We left our meeting feeling confident and excited about what was to come. I could not have hoped for more.

Our conversation with Paolo was fantastic. I normally plan all of our trips and it is a welcome choice to work with someone who knows an area of Italy we have never been to. Paolo took the information we gave before our call and was prepared with information we requested and was right on the money with things we would like to see. With Paolo's help, I will fully be able to enjoy a vacation without having to worry about all the little details. I highly recommend!

An hour with Paolo last week provided us with virtually all the information we will need for the days we will spend in the Puglia region of Italy. He walked me day by day through our schedule and made great recommendations about what to do and what not to do. Since Paolo resides in the area, he was able to give several restaurant suggestions for lunch and dinner. Paolo is a personable guy who was responsive to all of my questions. Following our session, he sent a personalized, interactive map of the region which highlighted things we discussed during our Zoom session. The hour session is well worth the charge and also eliminates hours of searching online looking for travel recommendations. Last week's session was the second time I have used Go Ask a Local, and I am sure I will make it a third later this year. Thank you, Paolo for your time and effort.

Jorge from Ask a Local was very helpful and had a wealth of knowledge about Costa Rica. I learned so much from him and can't wait for my trip.

Simone's information and guidance was absolutely priceless! He helped us finalize our itinerary and then provided us with his local recommendations for activities, hotels, restaurants and scenic drives. Everything he recommended could not be found in any tour book and will make this so much more of an authentic and special experience.

Dania was very open and comfortable to chat with. Provided some good spots to visit and provided local contacts in villages. Was informative with restaurants and non tourist locations. Will definitely use the service again.

This is the 2nd time I've consulted with a Go Ask A Local guide and once again, the local guide exceeded my expectations! Alfonso (a local guide near Barcelona, Spain) is so knowledgeable about Barcelona, he truly helped me improve our plans for our trip to his beautiful city later this year. He answered all of my questions, made excellent suggestions for the different age groups in our travel group. Time and money well-spent talking with Alfonso!!

This was my first time using "Go Ask a Local ", and if all the "locals" that are a part of this group are as good as Paolo, then I am going to be thrilled that I found this service.
Paolo was outstanding. He was friendly and had a good sense of humour, he is very knowledgeable about his area of expertise, he was good with me recording our zoom session so I could refer back and right after our call, he sent me links to all the places we talked about, and links to interactive maps he has created. This info, even without the pleasure of a 1 hour zoom call with Paolo, was worth the fee.
If you are going to be in Puglia, then I strongly suggest that you start your planning by spending an hour with Paolo on a Zoom call. It will be the best $125 you spent on your adventure.

We are delighted to have found Paolo- a Local expert on Puglia! In the hour we spent on Zoom, he answered all our questions and provided exceptional local insight to take our trip to the next level. Zoom enabled him to screen share and actually show us some of the places we are considering. Being seasoned travelers, we recognize a wonderful 5* guide. Thank you, Paolo!

Stefano Mazzantini was wonderful! He shared so much valuable information that we are now confident in completing our travel plans to Italy in April of this year.
Besides his knowledge and experience Stefano possesses an awesome personality allowing for a fun hour of exchanging information.

Found the site online as I was researching to plan an upcoming trip to Puglia. Great info online. And although I am an experienced traveler and had devised my own itinerary on previous trips in France as well as Italy, Puglia seemed like it required a little more planning to avoid driving long distances and also because there is so much to see and do.I decided to schedule a consultation.

Paolo was great, knowledgeable, helpful, and really nice. He had prepared by looking at the questionnaire and was able to give me advice and two itinerary options tailored to our interests and time. It was really worth it because he helped me make changes to the itinerary I had come up with. I think that alone probably saved us lots of time and driving. Of course, he also advised us on things we did not come across through researching online and provided helpful recommendations for hotels and restaurants.

A really valuable resource. I will certainly be using it in the future.

Booking a consultation with a local was a brilliant idea even for avid and experienced travelers. My consultation with Paolo about my Puglia itinerary was a fantastic and helpful experience. He had done his homework reading my questionnaire so knew where I was coming from. He had great ideas and helped me make a big change in my itinerary that I am very grateful for. His knowledge of the area, the restaurants, where to go off the beaten track, were very helpful and greatly appreciated. Such a no brainer experience and I love this concept and plan on using Go ask a Local in the future. So much more informative and interesting then travel guides that are so generic.

Paolo was excellent. He gave us an awesome itinerary to follow. He was great at answering our questions. Told us where to stop and kept us away from the over touristy sites. I highly recommend using him.

Jorge was very knowledgeable and helped us make our plans for Costa Rica. He had several suggestions that we hadn't seen in any of our books on Costa Rica.
I highly recommend him.

Terrific opportunity to ensure your once-in-a-lifetime trip is just that! Our family travel group of five ranged in age from 80+ downwards, and it was clear our local Argentine consultant Maria had put in a lot of thought on how to meet everyone's needs ahead of our consultation. The ease with which we were able to connect with a local expert to help us finetune our itinerary for Buenos Aires, and the extremely client-focused approach of both Maria and Go Ask a Local was evident at every stage of the process. Go Ask a Local gets five stars and two thumbs up from us; we'll be using them wherever possible in future!
