I took my car in with what I was told was the head gasket by another mechanic. Olly was very welcoming and I felt like my car was in good hands. He explained that they would do a free of charge head gasket test to make 100% sure this was the case. It turned out it wasn’t the head gasket it was a problem with the expansion tank. This was all fixed and I got my car back promptly. After month of trying to get to the bottom of the problem I had with ridiculously boiling coolant it was fixed and save me lots of money. A very honest and trust worthy company. Thank you soo much!

Living around the corner from GILMAR,it's easy to get to, and all the lads are very helpful.
My partner also brings her BMW in for servicing etc and supplies them with packets of biscuits to go with their teas & coffees!
All in all a reliable & efficient company to deal with.

My whole family use these motor engineers, good honest service at reasonable price. As soon as our cars are out of warranty, we use the services of this garage for MOTs and servicing. Thoroughly recommend, we believe in supporting local companies whenever possible.

I'm always really pleased with the service I get from the guys at Gilmar motors. They are a friendly team and always take their time to discuss any problems my car has, what options are available and what the costs will be. Gilmar have just completed a service and MOT on my car. Completely checked and I feel that if a part did not need replacing, it would not be replaced hence not adding any additional cost to me. Really friendly and knowledgeable and it appears that all the staff form part of an excellent team. I have used Gilmar motors quite a few times for services and mot, olly and the team are great, friendly and honest. Never had an issue and always make sure the customer is happy with the end result. They go the extra mile too when you need it! Couldn’t recommend them enough!

I needed a garage where I could find reliable, honest and fair prices and in Ollie and the team at Gilmars ceerful and competent guys I could trust. I could not have chosen better over the last 7 or 8 years. Ollie is always prepared to go the extra mile to ensure a satistfied and grateful customer, whether keeping my 22 year old Peugeot on the road or my Volvo V70 in good nick and sending me on my way confident that I could not have chosen better.

My clutch failed on my drive as I moved off. Gilmar organised a breakdown vehicle to collect my car at a very good price. I had repaired the slave cylinder and bled it, the clutch still did not work. A few days later I was told the car was ready. When I asked the nature of the fault I was told it was an air lock and they had to use a high pressure bleed. I was charged a very minimal price so was very pleased with the result.

Oliver and his team are a superbly organised, friendly, knowledgeable and honest group of experts. I had several small problems with my car, some of which Oliver took time to repair on the spot at point of consultation, free of charge. I won’t look at another local garage ever again. Nothing is too much trouble and communication is excellent. Very highly recommended.

Oliver's team made a wonderful job fitting a recycled front bumper to my BMW 3 series touring. Before they commenced, they double-checked that the replacement was exactly the part that I had ordered.
I really appreciated their workmanship and their thoughtful customer care!
