At first it was so exciting to get a Sketchbox every month with new art supplies to try out. I fulfilled the “assignment” every month to get a free item except for one month when the free item was repeated. It was fun at first to learn new techniques. However, as a beginner, I felt that the art subjects in the video and the tutorials were way too difficult for a beginner. I was getting the premium box but I would follow the basic video. Even the basic videos were too difficult for me to follow and the projects in the video were too difficult. So, if you are a beginning artist with simple skill level, don’t do Sketchbox because, in my opinion, and experience it’s not for beginners.

Subscribed thinking I was getting the monthly box, instead sent me a box from the past. Go green by selling boxes cheaper now by exchanging a box for another. Happy

My husband and I bought 8 Basic boxes to use as holiday gifts this year. I opened each of them to check the supplies - all great except one. Contacting Sketchbox was easy - they responded even though it was over the weekend and shipped out replacements on Monday. Amazing customer service!

Love their videos too - watched all 8 so I’d know what to expect. I was so impressed that I bought a subscription for myself. Really looking forward to a new year full of artistic fun!

Not happy with quality of art supplies, only received 5 things and one of those was a paint tray, very cheap. Definitely not worth it. I canceled subscription

I ordered a 6 month subscription for my 11 yr old son as his Christmas present, and knowing the box would not get to us in time for Christmas, I also ordered a past premium box so he would have something to open on Christmas morning. Imagine his dismay when we opened our very first ever sketchbox, and we only received half of the supplies that were supposed to be included in the box. Half! You can clearly see the contents that were provided vs the menu card labeled with what we were supposed to receive. We cannot do any of the projects taught in the online tutorial that comes with the premium box! I spent $35 (not to mention shipping costs, bc they do charge you for that too) on 2 markers, a colored pencil and some paper?!?!? I say save your money, and try a different art box. I wish we had!
I sent customer service an email and haven't heard anything from them.

I've tried several art box subscriptions. By far, I prefer Sketchbox for the quantity and quality of materials and the video lessons online. I've gotten to try materials I normally don't use (like markers, powdered paint and gouache) and to try various papers as well. The premium box always has top brands but even the basic box is a tremendous value--I've tried both subscriptions. The website is a good resource--you can review past videos, you can see other artists' creations, and past boxes and supplies are also available in the shop. Can't recommend it enough if you love creating art.

My daughter gifted me Sketchboxes when I started painting with acrylics in 2017. Up to that point she was the artist in the family and I was just the mom. Every month I looked forward to the arrival of Sketchbox and my collection of various art mediums grew from Sketchbox art supplies. I am 74 years old and work at my art every day. I've been using colored pencils for the last two years working on portraits of my grandchildren. I've also done numerous colored pencil sketches of animals..from a tree frog to a dog (cats and even a hampster)..Sketchbox company is professional and the staff are helpful. Its easy to subscribe and unsubscribe without being held to ransom by automatic renewal used by so many other companies. I recommend them with five stars.

I absolutely love my Sketchbox subscription! I've been a subscriber for about 5 months now and I have loved every box. I really enjoy the opportunity to try new tools, techniques, and mediums and love that Sketchbox provides higher quality products for these trials! I get to test out new things at a price point that I can manage and then, if I like a product, I know it is worth adding to my art practice. It's also a wonderful way to explore my creativity -- I get an infusion of new products, techniques, and ideas (via the YouTube videos that are super helpful!), every month and I find that it really invigorates my own approach to my art. For those living in Canada -- my Skethbox definitely doesn't arrive right at the beginning of the month but I usually receive it within the first week or so. This doesn't bother me as I live in a rural area so I'm used to late shipping but it also adds to the anticipation each month! I watch the new YouTube videos when they're released, get excited about what's to come, start thinking about what I can do with the new materials, and then rewatch the video when my box does arrive! I'm so happy I found Sketchbox!

We subscribed to Sketchbox for 6 months as a Christmas gift for our daughter. A few years later and we’re still going. This subscription far exceeded expectations. The quality and variety of items is incredible. There are high end items our daughter would never buy for herself due to cost. Because of this subscription she was able to experience the difference quality art supplies can make. Not just that but really branch out and try mediums she may have never picked up. Every box has been worth more than the monthly subscription cost as well. If you are thinking of a subscription - do it! You won’t be disappointed.

I am a consumer of art supplies. I have purchased 5 art boxes since September 2021. The subscription service is flexible. If I email a request to pause my subscription, the service is paused. I also purchased two art boxes as a gift in May 2022. The gift purchases arrived on time to my family member. Based upon these experiences, and the variety of art boxes received, I rate my experience as a consumer with this company favorably. Finally, this review is my own. I ordered 6 months of SketchBox for my 12-year very artistic grandson. He loved the boxes and the results were outstanding artwork. I also had two communications with Mike, in their customer service department. His response was very quick and excellent.

I am considering purchasing another series of boxes for my grandaughter.

After three weeks of not receiving my Sketchbox, I contacted the company (very accessible and responsive) and after answering their questions, they promised to ship a replacement box to me (just waiting for the tracking #).

SketchBox is amazing! Every month I'm so excited to see what medium I'll be working with. SketchBox does such a great job introducing me to new items I never would have thought to have tried on my own. The tutorial videos are such a big help too! Nikoli is the best!

I joined SketchBox 2 years ago and absolutely love it! I love getting new material each month and the instructional videos that help me use them. It’s like Christmas morning every month!!!

I received a subscription as a gift, and it is one of my all time favorite gifts, as it keeps on giving every month. I love all the unique items that SketchBox sends me every month, who would have known that Watercolor Powder existed?!?!? I find the educational video's that come with every box so helpful, and teaches me new techniques to try. I will definitely renew my subscription again.
