I love how Selkie made my hair feel. I have really fine hair that gets oily quickly and this shampoo really works for me. My hair feels so smooth after using it. I love how I can also refill the product which reduce the plastic use. Highly recommend.

A few months ago I made the move over to Selkie after seeing it promoted online and I'm so happy I did.

Initially, the lack of 'foaminess' that the shampoo provides in comparison to high street brands, was a struggle to get used to but I kept with it as my hair got its waves back, felt so much softer and less greasy. And now, a few months down the line I'm used to the way the shampoo works and feel so great when using it.

Not only has it got a fab smell but it feels like I'm really doing my part in cutting down on plastics, which I've long been wanting to do.

I really couldn't recommend it more and with so many people complimenting my hair, I find myself constantly spreading the Selkie word.

I’ve been using this for about 4 months. I’ve always wanted to be sustainable but not use bars. This works amazingly. Will use forever!

I had high hopes for this product. I really wanted to like it but sadly I can’t.
The smell is terrible, my hair (fine) doesn’t feel clean after washing with the shampoo, and I can barely get my fingers through my hair after conditioning. Once my hair has been dried it feels (& looks ) like straw.
Subscription cancelled.

Leaves my frizzy hair silky and soft. Not harsh at all and I love that it comes in easily refillable and sturdy containers. Definitely recommend!

I was drawn to Selkie due to their ethos in regards to their eco friendly sustainability. Powder to liquid sounded like magic.
I wasn't sure what to expect.

My hair is naturally medium brown with lots of grey too and is very, very long and kinda wavy.
I have very oily roots and fairly dry ends.

I've used eco friendly shampoos for a while now. From shampoo bars to refillable shampoo/conditioner but I've never been totally satisfied with the results of those products. My hair always felt "heavy" and stripped.

I've only used it twice but I can already see a difference in my hair.
My hair is so soft, shiny, not stripped and really light feeling.

My only slight gripe is the conditioner smells a bit strange but it's a good texture and my hair feels fab after using it.

My first impressions of Selkie are very positive. I love it!

I really wanted to like this but it's absolutely terrible. I needed lots just to get any kind of lather worth the shampoo & the conditioner is a horrible feeling. This left my hair so dry & frizzy. Cancelled subscription. My husband is going to use what's left as I used it twice because he doesn't care what he uses.

Can’t recommend this product enough ! My hair hasn’t felt this healthy in years . I have my old hair back . Thank you Selkie x

Not impressed I wanted to love this but the conditioner made my hair very dry and tangled, the shampoo was better but dried out my scalp a lot. I didn’t realise that I set up a subscription, they don’t accept returns and I am unable to login and have no way to cancel. AVOID

I don’t feel I was being inaccurate or lying as was implied. It feels very shady that they will only refund if I agree to remove my initial review. I wonder how many bad reviews have been deleted? Their website states that if you change your mind they will not refund you, so I am not sure what they are talking about a 7 day window? If their customer service was good and not so aggressive I would have updated my review anyway. My advice to them is make it clear in the first box sent to include a card saying that you set up a subscription and details on how to cancel or amend it. I have an online business too and I have hundreds of reviews but not a single bad one because I believe in exceptional customer service and I have made making every customer happy my priority. I think an unhappy customer is an opportunity to turn it around and not to accuse them of lying or to threaten them.

I have only tried it once but Selkie makes my hair so soft. I love that it’s environment friendly too! Excited to keep using it ☺️

I have been trialing both the shampoo and conditioner after discovery them at the Salad Days Market. Lovely packaging, and great concept, but sadly both do not work for me. I have naturally wavy hair and have tried double cleansing but my hair still feels dirty after washing. The product leaves a residue and I find myself having to wash more often than usual.

Dying my grey roots for a few years left my hair dull and stringy plus hard water made it worse. But after using Selkie products, my hair looks soft and shiny. It really feels like I got my young hair back from 10 years ago.

Not getting on with this shampoo at all. Have followed the online videos, but just can not seem to get a good foam with this product. It foams a little in the hands, but semes to just dissappear into the hair and my hair is greasy straight after washing. I have dry hair generally, I usually only wash once a week, but my scalp and hair just don't feel clean after using this. Very disappointing as I really want a sustainable shampoo that works!

Absolutely love using Selkie I have damaged bleached hair and my fly always have improved massively along with my hair feeling so soft and shiny :) 1000% recommended!

I’ve been using Selkie as my shampoo and conditioner for months now and I can honestly say I have no intention of EVER switching back to another brand.

Before Selkie, I was trying so many different brands and products in an attempt to tame my knotty nightmare of a mane - nothing worked. I started to develop real issues with knots once I decided to fully embrace my natural waves about 7 years ago, and was told it would eventually sort itself out - but needing to spend an hour brushing my hair in the shower every time I washed it for 7 years was, quite frankly, a terrible experience.

I switched to Selkie with the main hope it would help the knots but was doubtful it would do much as I had tried sooo many other brands - I was wrong to be doubtful. I still get knots, sure, as that’s just my hair type, but it takes minutes to brush out now, not hours. I have also noticed far less hair fall out as a result and even quick new growth again! I need to wash my hair far less frequently now, too. I used to feel my hair getting greasy the day I washed it and absolutely needed to wear it up from day 2… now I can have my hair down comfortably for 3 days if I wanted to! On top of this, I used to have to switch to a different brand every couple of months as my hair would start going funky if I used the same brand for too long but I’ve not had that with Selkie. The bottles last me about 2 months (I have looooong hair that I wash 2-3 times a week) and my hair is left feeling so clean and nourished every time - the results have been consistent for me. I genuinely couldn’t be happier.

I’ve finally found shampoo and conditioner that doesn’t make me want to chop all my hair off or dread hair wash day - thank you Selkie 🙌🏻

Really great products. They smell really lovely and they were easy to use. Mixing the powder with water in the bottles was enjoyable and easy. A great alternative to standard shampoo and conditioner that aren’t very sustainable.

As soon as I saw this on Instagram I knew I needed to try this because I'd wanted to ditch the supermarket rubbish but had not gotten on with shampoo bars and there weren't many other options out there.
I was very impressed with the mixing process and it 100% made me feel like a scientist (Ha!).

I have fine hair that gets weighed down by usual moisturising shampoo (turns super greasy) and then dry if I use any other kind but I found from my first Selkie use my hair felt bouncey, fuller and less frizzy.

Overall I am super happy with Selkie and would highly recommend!

P.S Hope you bring out more hair care as you grow! Keep up the great work Team Selkie
