I purchased my dome from Seamus in May 2024, and over a year—and a few wild storms—later, I can confidently say it’s one of the best investments I’ve ever made. It’s been everything from a dinner party venue and sleepover room to a pool house, and now, a relaxing space bursting with tomatoes, squashes, pears, and chillies! Grapes and peaches are in the planning for next year, and I can’t wait.

My favourite is lying in the hammock as the rain falls outside… or hearing the breeze in the quiet of early evening. It brings me so much joy.

Also great to support an Irish business. Seamus and his skilled team were fantastic—professional, generous with their time, and always willing to go the extra mile. The craftsmanship is a work of art.

Excellent craftmanship, responsive customer service, and an amazing multi functional space in the garden

I wanted to create a unique & sustainable outdoor garden space for guests staying at Crosshaven House to be wowed. After much research both nationally & internationally, I had the easiest of decisions and elected to contract Geodesic Domes Ireland for a 3 frequency, 6.5 metre diameter geodesic dome.

Seamus Daly, the owner was extremely professional to deal with from the initial site visit to project completion. Communication was excellent throughout, any queries on specification details were immediately responded to and the quotation detailed the exact breakdown of costs.

Prior to assembly in the garden, Seamus advised on the optimum dome orientation & location. I elected to proceed with a wooden pentagonal platform rather than a concrete foundation due to personal preference. The wooden internal frame was made from durawood, a light & sustainable wood. Externally, the panes were made from clear 4mm polycarbonate, a product which is 40 times tougher than toughened glass which somewhat surprised me. A large tarpaulin tent was erected in the garden prior to the dome assembly, this ensured that work could continue regardless of the weather elements.

It was assembled in a series of hexagon and pentagon panels that magically & flawlessly all fitted together. The attention to detail, the master craftsmanship, the bespoke design, all create this amazing & wonderful space.

LED lighting was installed around the internal perimeter of the dome and is controlled by Bluetooth, the lighting which slides 256 colours can also be intensified to create ambient mood lighting.

I am beyond delighted with the final outcome of this geodesic dome, it is perfectly designed, absolutely stunning to look at and an absolute joy for our guests staying at Crosshaven House.

We highly recommend Geodesic Domes Ltd. A superb Irish company. Seamus designed and handcrafted a stunning 4 metre geodesic ‘GROW’ dome that sits beautifully in our back garden. Built to our exact specifications, Seamus uses premium quality materials (Durawood timber frame and UV Stable polycarbonate glazing) that are handmade and fitted to perfection. The 3 windows have a mechanical heat recovery vent that helps control the air moisture and temperature. As we chose not to insulate our geodesic dome, an electric heater keeps it cosy on winter nights.
Thanks to Seamus and Needa’s meticulous attention to detail and bespoke interior fit out, our luxurious dome has exceeded our expectations for a multi use garden room for all seasons. As a family with 3 teenage/young adults, we all use it daily regardless of the weather for relaxing, reading, meditating and music. It functions as both a peaceful study area and a space to socialise and entertain. It is a joy to experience being literally surrounded by nature’s sounds and sights both day and night in the comfort and warmth of our eco-friendly sustainable dome.

We first came accross the dome at 2022 bloom and we were seriously impressed with the design and workmanship and quality of materials used. We thought it over and then decided we would get Seamus down to price the job and see how our proposed location. We decided to go for it and Seamus set to work he battled with the elements and got there. we got a 5.5m dome and it is truly magnificent, we are delighted with all aspects of the dome and the associated workmanship, it's a masterclass and a master piece of Seamus's capabilities. It looks great in our garden and leaves all who see it say its beautiful and agree too. with the longer days and better weather the dome is really starting to come into its own. We did a fair amount of research before buying our geodesic dome and this company was not the cheapest. But when we visited the various companies the cheaper ones never looked nearly as good in real life as they had in the photos! We were initially reluctant to spend the extra on the one from Geodesic Domes Ireland but when we actually saw one we knew we wouldn't be happy with any other. It is truly beautiful, structurally strong and yet quite delicate to look at. Seamus was really helpful and discussed with us what we wanted. He sent advice on how to prepare the base and was in communication throughout the process. I look at it every day and think how beautiful it is and how glad I am that we chose this particular design.
